Really loud and the wait can be long (especially for groups of 7 late Saturday morning). Service is pretty good, lots of smiles and fast. The scones are pretty awesome. Honey butter melts in your mouth. Got the boss breakfast which had two eggs scrambled, 4-6 strips of bacon and half a plate of hash browns with the sos gravy. It was exactly what I was looking for in my breakfast. The eggs were light and maybe lightly seasoned with salt, I didn't add any salt or pepper. The bacon seemed to be high quality and had the perfect balance of crunchy to chewy for me. The hash browns were good and topped with the gravy which was really good (think biscuits and gravy) and I was pleased with the ratio of gravy to potatoes; it was enough to season and flavor the potatoes but not drown them. Also ordered a cinnamon roll to share with the entire table. We finished about 80% of it. Probably should have ordered some milk with it. Liked it, it was as big as my head, but liked the scone better. The cinnamon roll icing was very sweet and rich. Needed a nap and probably Pre order an epipen after that meal it was very good. I love this place. I normally would never go eat by myself but being pregnant and having a busy schedule, craving some great breakfast leads me here and the family just has to go to school or work, I'll take them to on occasion ;) Its my breakfast break. I took my family here from California because of their famous breakfast and headed to a movie afterwards suddenly while we were watching the movie my son was vomiting and having diarrhea and ruined his day! Always a great experience! I visit Utah every 6 months or so and I usually stay in SLC, but no matter what my plans are, I have to make the 30 minute drive to Gentile St and get me the Boss' Breakfast at Sills! You get to Sill's and have to wait to be seated. It's a first come, first served type of seating situation. When you have a bigger party, expect to wait a few minutes longer. The best part is, that's the only wait you'll have. Once you order, the food is out in literal minutes. The portion size is great and the flavors are amazing. I recommend the Scones. I've tried a couple of times to check the place out, but I wasn't willing to stand in line, only to have to fight for a table. I finally got a chance to eat there today. The good, then the bad... The food was just as I was led to expect - good hearty food with generous portions. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. That being said, the food was just good, not anything exceptional. I've had better, but I've certainly had worse. Now for the bad... I just don't care for the way they handle the seating. If I ran the place I'd do something different - take a number perhaps? Bottom line for me is that when I have a hankering for a good hearty homestyle meal I'll drive by the place and look at the parking lot. If it's full, I'll keep on driving to Kaysville and stop at Granny Annies. The food's pretty much the same and there's a lot less hassle getting seated. read more

To be honest I really don't get the hype. There is no reason I can think of why there should be a line coming out of this place on Sunday mornings other than that it is the ONLY non-chain breakfast place in town. Very typical diner fare. Eggs bacon etc... nothing particularly memorable or above average. Their claim to fame are their "scones" which are not actually scones at all but some sort of deep fried mass of puffy dough slathered in a mound of sweet butter and covered in powdered sugar. "Massive free form donut", "diabetes starter kit", or "heart attack inducing artery clog" would all be better options for describing these than "scone". The ONLY thing this desert for a family of 5 has in common with an actual scone is its use of white flour. That said, they do taste good. How could they not? If you you've got a hankerin' for traditional American breakfast and you can catch this place at a time when there isn't a massive wait, then it's not a bad choice. Had a very hearty breakfast at Sill's. The parking lot was full and the restaurant was crowded with people waiting at 10:30am on a Wednesday morning. I ordered the obligatory house scone. These are not what I have been accustomed to calling scones- more like a fried piece of dough the size of a good sized pancake served with a heart unhealthy dollop (what's bigger than a dollop?) of honey butter. Light and delicious and more than enough for 2 hungry people. I also had a Denver omelette with hash browns. The portion was huge but the hash browns were standard and unremarkable. The omelette was more green bell pepper and onion (with enough ham, too) than egg. But it was very good. The food is basic and filling. Bacon is deep fried, curly and crunchy/chewy. The SOS is a peppery(black) sausage gravy. If you have the steak and eggs, the steak is fresh, not frozen. You'll need the steak knife, but it's flavorful. The over easy eggs were perfect. Coffee was Okay. I really liked the plate size scone. Thinner in the center, than most places. The middle had spots that were thin and crisp, like a chip. Variations in texture, bready, crunchy, brittle. Standard honey butter. I ate the entire thing, though I think you can ask for smaller portions. I saw some smaller ones, the size of coffee cup saucers. If you're a visitor, the Utah scone is a fry bread. Quick, paced friendly service. Had our scones in a few minutes and breakfast items in 10 minutes. Pay at the register, on your way out. Sunday morning at noon, we waited about 10 minutes, to seat two at the counter. Seemed like 15 to 20 minute wait for tables. If the line is to the door, just ask who's last. I'm giving this two stars based on customer service. The food has always been good and will always be good. However, due to the way they structure their restaurant - we were cut in front of twice by two families of four (which is what we are) to which I finally had to say something, and heard the reply, "Well, sorry, they should be taking care of that." Who "they" is I have no idea since there really doesn't seem to be a dedicated person to the position. They need a host. That would stop this from happening. Every time we are there there's a line out the door. And everybody wants to sit down as fast as possible. Their "seat yourself" policy doesn't work when you have customers waiting for twenty minutes with kids. As far as everything else, our server was sub par. And since my husband is a server and I've been one as well, we tend to be fairly forgiving of wait times or service issues. My husband was irate with the server this time due to her lack of care or communication with the table. We watched her refill another tables coffee twice before she even came to check on ours, which had been empty for a good ten minutes. I'm just disappointed. Just cause we have kids doesn't mean we are going to tip you poorly. We get it. We've been there. read more

However, when you add in the scone (some meals actually come with one) you are probably out the door at 8-10 bucks. The scone...what can I say it is a scone. All the reviews about how good this scone is well they are right the scone is great. However, I contend it is not the scone that is great it is the honey butter (more like butter honey) that is topped on the scone that makes the scone. Without that butter-honey it would be just another scone. We also tried the cinnamon roll. It is huge!!! They bring it out warm and gooey (just how I like it). It was awesome!!! 5 stars for sure. Didn't try the apple fritter, but I bet it is great if you like such things. Oh, I actually did have a breakfast, lol I had the biscuits and gravy. It is the best I've had in the state so far. Please if anybody thinks they have had better Biscuits and gravy, please message me. The dish also came with an egg and choice of meat. I just got the egg scrambled, and a sausage patty for the meat. I stood there waiting to be seated and no one acknowledged nor helped me out.
