For a great breakfast meal, this is the place to go! The food is excellent and just like everyone else has stated... the scones are delicious and huge! The food is fairly priced for the portions you get. The staff is friendly and you can see the hard work they put in to keep up with their customers. The building itself is nothing special and still too small for their business. I believe they have already "upgraded" the amount of space but it still gets jam packed. You can usually find the waiting line out the door. I also hate that you have to wait and find your own table when you get to the front of the line. It's so packed and crazy in there, I feel as though we've been cut in line because of that. Could benefit from an actual waiting list or a better system then what they have in place now. read more

I've been in town a couple weeks. The first time I tried to go the line was out the door on a Saturday morning. I came back on a different day at a later hour. The food is typical diner food. They have their local "scone" which I tried. It isn't really your traditional British scone. It's fried dough with a lot of honey butter. It was ok and Sill's has built their reputation on it. The portions are good and the coffee was good. My service was good. No surprise, but if diner food is what you're looking for, then this place is for you. read more

I'm assuming the food is good since people have raved on about it. But I wouldn't know; thr service was so awful I didn't even bother staying to try any. I stood around for several minutes and watched multiple servers and staff pass me by without even saying 'hi'. There was no sign anywhere that said 'seat yourself' so I finally stopped someone who looked annoyed and said, "yes, just sit anywhere". Her rudeness was the final straw so I just walked out. Sills cafe has been around since before I was a kid... great food...expecally the scones.... when I was a kid my dad would spend hours in the cafe... drinking their coffee.... the coffee was great..one night Mom had enough....loaded us kids up in our p.j.s. This was a fairly decent place to eat breakfast. Portions were generous and the prices were good. The place is too small for the amount of traffic that comes into the place. I thought my sausage gravy had a bit more sage than necessary. I would have liked some more substantial pieces of sausage in the gravy but overall everything was good. I am not a sweet breakfast eater but the Utah scone was on point and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was thick and tasted good. If you are into loud and crowded then this is your place. There is no rhyme or reason to keeping order at the door when waiting on a table. Several of us were standing at the entrance waiting on tables to free up and there were one or two folks who seemed to just occupy a booth and drink coffee after their meal while appearing to care less about those waiting to sit down. My husband surprised me last night by bringing home fish and chips. We were both really disappointed. At first sight, the fish and chips were very dark. It smelled like it was cooked in old oil and like the oil was a bit burnt. In addition, the fish was way overcooked. I expected a lot more after reading all the good reviews. read more

Why am I giving Sill's five stars? It's not just the huge, greasy breakfasts, though those are great, it's more about the experience--the crowds, the noise, waiting for an open table, the regulars, the smells. As far as the food goes, the best thing on the menu by far are the scones with honey butter (that "glob" is not butter, it's honey butter, and it's amazing). By the way, for those who are not from Utah, what Utahns call "scones" are actually deep-fried bread dough similar to a funnel cake without the powdered sugar and much better tasting. The scones are a must on any visit to Sill's. If you're in the area, I recommend checking it out--it's definitely part of the local culture and tradition. read more

Has to be the worst breakfast outing I can recall in my lifetime. I can't believe people would choose to return. I haven't seen this type of thick brown gravy since I was in the grade school cafeteria. Nothing healthy on the menu. Pancakes were not as good as I can make at home. What they call a "scone" is a fried batter mess topped with a cake of butter. Sill's food is truck stop quality. Moon Dog Cafe across town puts them to shame. read more

All I can say is Scones Scones Scones. Been coming here for years, since it was in the first building. The food is as good as ever and you can't beat the price! I have family that lives out of state and this is always a must-go location when they visit. My favorite is the mini breakfast (and it is anything but mini) with the scone option.
