First time to this restaurant and I will not be returning nor would I recommend it ! So when we went there were several of us . One person's food came back burnt and another's food was dropped apparently, so they had to remake which wasn't a big deal until they brought it out and it was raw and doughy! When one of us went to ask for a manager to make a complaint the waitress was rude and went to the side where the person couldn't see or hear but the other people who were with them did she was making rude comments to another waitress about the person who had asked for the manager. read more

Okay, the salad bar was good. Lots of things to choose from, but no blue cheese dressing. The steak was very good, but everything else was just okay. The green beans were cold, the servings were a little on the small side. The restaurant looks very nice and clean. The wait staff was friendly, but they yell at each other from across the room. They say is next to the swinging kitchen doors so we couldn't have a conversation with waitresses coming in and out and loudly having conversations next to us. read more

We stopped on our way back into the St Louis area. It was about a 30 minute wait on a Saturday evening. Once seated we waited several minutes and weren't approached by a waiter or waitress, a table behind up was sat and got their drink order taken right away. I had to get up from the table to ask for a waitress to help us. She showed up but forgot her iPad to take the order on and had to leave again. We were a party of 6 and had her place our food and drink order at the same time. She had to come back to tell us they were out of baked potatoes on a Saturday before 7 PM the mashed potatoes were soup. They don't give you a spoon but it is the only way to eat their watery mess they call mashed potatoes. I had catfish blackened and it was undercooked. We got raw dough balls as rolls. The place is cute with the barn doors and fireplace but the service was shit and the food isn't much better. Save your time and money and find somewhere where you can get a descent meal. Avoid this place. Other than the cool-looking building, there is no reason to waste your money on bland food and poor service. It's a remake of the former Du Kum Inn restaurant. They killed the historical restaurant name, slayed the good home-cooked vibe, and moved across the highway to get a bigger parking lot for I-44/Route 66 traffic. It seems the business lost a lot of the locals, mostly older folks, church-goers, and people who enjoyed seeing familiar faces on both sides of the counter. That's gone. Get your foodie kicks somewhere else on Route 66. There's nothing at the Silo to write home about. read more

Disappointing. We ordered the hot buffet hearing how much it offered. The food was not appealing at all. Look like left over garbage. The mashed potatoes were turning brown, hard and cracked, dried out. The gravy had skinned over like a quarter inch. The pot roast looked disgusting. I wouldn't even try it. Ended up taking chicken and garlic potatoes. The chicken was over cooked on the outside and under inside. The potatoes were dry. Salad bar looked just as bad. A real turn off. The buffet was much smaller than we expected. Fried chicken was decent but kinda dry. Meatloaf was so-so. Catfish was nasty. My husband looked at the buffet and decided to order off the menu instead and his burger smelled funny. My kid liked her burger. Fries were good. Breakfast weekend buffet. The chafers, if that is what is they are called that hold the buffet food. Everything is not warm enough. The fruit on the serving table was the best thing there. If you are going to offer cold pancakes and french toast it might help if you put the surup in the warmer things. The coffee tasted like water, just bitter. It is a toss up which was worse, the cold food or the aweful coffee that i could not drink. Staff needs training for the table the guest needs. We had to go ask someone else for sugar. If I could give this a 0 star review I would. The service was absolute trash. We had ordered food. I got the chicken ceaser wrap and my dad got a Philly. His Philly came out spicy when it said it wouldn't be spicy. He took one bite and couldn't eat it. The fries were okay though. The ceaser wrap had some weird sauce that wasn't ceaser dressing. Chicken was a little cold. The chips were great. The supposed 50+ item salad bar.. didn't even have the right amount of items. There was 8 different dressings. The atmosphere was pleasant. My son ordered chicken Alfredo and he ended up getting raw chicken in his Alfredo and they didn't make it right. They have terrible service and management. I do not recommend this restaurant. My son who doesn't mind a chewy steak ordered a 12oz Ribeye cooked medium and although he tried his best to eat it it was waaaay too tough. He will have to feed it to the dog. My chicken club was missing the avocado and was definitely over-cooked and in extremely old oil... did not eat it at all. We were there 1/27/23 about 4 pm. We tried to order several different things and they were either out or unavailable. I then tried to order the Strawberry salad and was told that was seasonal. I suggested that they could go to Walmart and buy some strawberries IF they had it on the menu. This is the 2nd time we have tried to eat there in their new place. The waitress was awful. She took our drink orders and we could hardly get refills, we sat forever waiting to order, she brought wet dishes for the salad bar and said , all you have to do is wipe them off. She barley came to check if we needed anything and when she did she made excuses on why she didn't come back sooner. She forgot to bring us part of our food, she gave everyone the wrong plates, we all gave good cash tips, even though it was bad service , we all paid with our cards and one card a 20% tip was added after we signed our receipt and not shown as a tip. When she handed us all wrong receipts we started checking our bank apps and found the overcharged. When we approached management we were given the run around. We had seen this new restaurant being built over the last year in Sullivan Mo and was very eager to try it out. It is DKI Homecookin Steakhouse. We finally got that chance on 10/14/2022. They were previously at another location across the freeway but we did not get the chance to eat there before they closed that location down for the new one. Let me start by saying that my wife and I are not generally big salad eaters and our meal started with a salad. We were stunned at how delicious this little salad was. It had the best light poppyseed dressing and homemade croutons. It was out of this world good. We both got steak. My wife got the 8oz sirloin and I got the 12 oz NY Strip. These steaks were cooked to perfection and tender and delicious with garlic butter and grilled onions and mushrooms. Plus I had the extra grilled shrimp. I got the loaded baked potato and my wife got mashed. This was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Everything was cooked to perfection. Not to mention we had the sweetest and very prompt waitress named Destiny. She was on top of everything without asking. After traveling a long distance to visit our vacation property nearby this was a great down home great food experience. The decor is very appropriate for the country life of hunting and fishing and you will see some very interesting wildlife depictions. This location also has a delicious Artisan Icecreamery that the owner treated us to. The business is owned and operated by a father-and-son team and they really take great pride in their business and it shows. WE WILL BE BACK! It's hard to get refills and they were out of baked potatoes. The fries were less than run of the mill frozen fries. My chair was full of food crumbs from the table before us. This place has a lot of work to do from management, to kitchen and cooking to wait staff. I watched 6 different people pass by a table full of dirty dishes coming and going from a kitchen. If you don't have a busser then wait staff should clear tables as needed not just walk by 20x and leave a mess sit out. The tips are expected to be 20% or more and this place doesn't even pass par.
