First timer here and I'm sooo happy to finally find a decent Filipino restaurant. I really don't understand the 1 star reviews besides people complaining about the price of their Lechon LOL. Everything is getting expensive, so of course places need to raise their price. Anyhoo back to what I ordered. I ordered some pork sinigang, pancit and some Lechon kawali. YES, I was hungry lol. The sinigang was on point with the right about of sourness to the soup which I really enjoyed. The pancit was cooked to perfection and had the right ratio of veggies to meat. What bad thing can I say about lechon kawaili? Of course this dish was the highlight for me, not too burnt and cooked just right. Every piece has a night crunch to it which I love. Small local filipino restaurant! The gentleman that helped us also greeted us and explained we can do a two menu item unfortunately, there were some items you couldn't choose from which was odd. You had to purchase those as a side dish instead. Which actually only gave you a few options after stating which one you couldn't get. I ordered the pork sinigang with Longonisa since my 4 year old wanted it. My son also wanted the Shanghai lumpias which are small pork thin lumpias although it was cold which I prefer hot and fresh it was 5 for $5.00 a little expensive. Since I wanted to try the beef tapa an item that was sold individually I had to get that separately. Along with a side of lumpia's. He said oh just order a one item with the lumpia's basically rice and lumpia's which at the time I didn't know the pricing I just said sure I pretty much paid $5.00 extra for rice not happy about that. The sinigang however had great authentic flavor which was good. My in-laws ordered pork adobo and menudo they enjoyed the pork adobo flavor but the menudo was too sweet for them. Beef tapa tasted good. Since there wasn't a menu or price list available I didn't even ask how much one item or two items cost but after paying one item is $10 and $12.99 for a two item. I don't even know how much he charged for one side. My partner is philippine and he loved this place. He said the food and ambiance of a chill simple place was what he experienced in the Philippines. I am very picky and enjoyed some of the dishes but it is definitely vinegar based with lots of fish. It has limited options and is very fast. The people were nice and the places looked clean. Very good Filipino food in Northern Nevada. I got a plate of paksiw lechon and pinakbet with rice. It was $15.17, and the young man said he'd accept a flat $15.00, and I left a small tip in the tip jar. The two were flavorful. I really liked the fresh kalabasa and eggplant and green beans in the pinakbet. As I was eating at my table, a lady outside was speaking rather loudly. She was dressed all in black and carried several bags. The manong from the restaurant walked outside to ask her a question. Within a minute, he got a plate for the lady. I finished my lunch and thanked them for the meal. As I sat in my car, there was a young man walking by the restaurant. Manong from the restaurant walked out with a plate for him. I was thoroughly touched by Manong's willingness to give food away to some of the people who appear to need a handout. I commend the restaurant staff for being so generous and willing to share their food with others who might have very little. Only choice for carb is white rice....no pancit available My husband wanted to order pinakpet/gulay (veggie cooked in fermented shrimp paste) They charge $24 for ala carte size large equivalent to a 16oz Anyways my hubby decided to order ala carte a medium pinakpet, medium bicol express...pusit adobo...bistek Also order (2) 2 item combo with other stuff Total about $68 Husband is filipino. So he rated it Expensive pinakpet didn't have any meat in it. In his opinion high cost atleast have some meat to justify but zero meat Bicol overly salty Pusit adobo....squid wasn't cleaned out...still had bones and guts in the body area . On the way to a trip to Sparks, our first stop that my mom chose on my Yelp suggestions was to try this Filipino spot to curb our late lunch hunger. We arrived after having to make a hairy 2 lane change right upon entering the 395 North to stay on 395 N. 2 lanes for 80 were right when you enter. Terrible. This is located in a rundown area with some gangbanger types roaming around. Upon entry we saw no menu board. After talking with the man behind the food case he said that it was a pick 2 item combo plate with rice for $7.99. No menus. I know a handful of Filipino dishes and saw a bunch of usual suspects. I settled on the caldereta (beef stew) and afritada (pork and carrots and peas). My mom and dad each got the caldereta and they both got a different 2nd option. We all agreed that it was good. The portion is on the small side (no mounding or vertical action), just fairly flat rice and entrees. Price is decent which makes up for the size. They have a tv playing Filipino shows. A nice fan going. The fam who owns it is friendly. It is not the easiest to find Filipino fare. So if you aren't hungry or a big eater, this is a good place to try out. read more

A little whole in the wall Filipino restaurant. Vacationing in Reno, I was craving for Filipino food. I stumbled across this place thru yelp. They have various dishes, from adobo to menudo, etc. They don't have a sign/menu of their pricing which I found kinda weird... and confusing for people who would want to eat here. I wasn't bothered by the fact that other yelpers said they don't have labels for the food items, but a lot of Filipino restaurants are like this. I live that this is a cafeteria style restaurant where they just make 6-10 dishes everyday and you can come in and get a plate. I let the server choose my two entrees based on what he liked best from what they had to offer for the day. He chose a slightly sweet beef and vegetable stew that was very tender and has a great flavor with nice fresh veggies like peas and carrots in it. He also chose something that I can only describe as sweet and sour pork (I didn't ask for clarification on what items he was giving me, I just trusted the process) this dish too was very tender and has a nice acidity to balance out the sweetness of the other dish. The plate was also very affordable at about $13. I left feeling extremely satisfied and wanting to return as soon as possible. I'm glad I put my trust in him to decide for me but I do think next time I'll ask for more information on the dishes so I can be more well informed. I will say, that I think no matter what he gave me I would have been content. All the dishes on the line looked so good and they had a wide variety of selections.
