Katsu & Teriyaki Chicken plate. NOMs candy with the assist!

Some good local style hawaiian grindz. When in Reno, check out Kikas for their plates you won't be disappointed. Good customer service cashier was upbeat and polite as well as welcoming. Good vibes and gets a bit busy during lunch time so calling in may be an option. Try em out!

In Reno for a baseball tournament and we were so over eating the food here and wanted a little piece of home ( Hawai'i). We come to Kikas every time we are in Reno and they do not disappoint. Everything we had there was MAYJAH.. Garlic chicken special today was cooked to perfection. Will probably come here another 1-2 times before we leave..

The wait is worth it! This place is packed for the lunch rush, but I totally see why. Can't wait to try dessert next time. Awesome job!

Running errands on a Monday I had to stop by to treat myself with Kikas since the stars aligned and I was in the area and they were open. Ordered ahead while entering Reno from Carson lady on the phone told me 15 mins and it was perfect timing. Got to kikas and my platter was FILLED I was excited. Smelling the katsu in my car filling with sweet, fried chicken cutlet was mouth watering the moment I got home I put my groceries away to properly enjoy my meal. Always worth stopping by and recommend this to anyone who is able to make it happen instead of the typical chain Hawaiian restaurant. Always a friendly vibe can't wait to come back

Hands down the best Hawaiian food in Reno. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu but the real treat is their weekly specials. The garlic chicken on Wednesdays is to die for and on Fridays they have Loco Moco which is also delicious. A great business full of great people that is absolutely a must-hit lunch spot.

We finally managed to make it to Kikas during their operating hours. Husband and I shared a chicken katsu plate and some fries with sauce. The macaroni salad was very flavorful, we quickly decided the one scoop that accompanied the plate was not going to be enough, so we ordered an extra scoop! The fries with sauce have a nice citrusy flavor. The place had a steady pace of visitors during the lunch hour, but the staff worked so efficiently, the wait for food wasn't too long.

Came by this place for lunch, and recommended by friends. My first visit to this restaurant. I love Hawaiian food, especially if they are local, small businesses. As I came in at the front door, I was immediately greeted my the owner, asking if I been helped. Follow by friendly girl at the register who took my order. As I look around this small restaurant, it's nice and welcoming. I ordered chicken teriyaki plate, with pineapple coleslaw and spam musubi. The chicken is well marinated good texture, also savory. Good portion too. I picked pineapple coleslaw, it's delicious , first time trying coleslaw with pineapple. I would come back to try others on the menu. With Reno being small, Hawaiian food option are limited. (Locally owned / small businesses that are not franchise).

Clean, colorful and bright-super cute interior with small patio section in front. The most wonderful cooking aroma the minute you walk through the door. We knew we were getting the teriyaki chicken plates but next time I'll also get the nachos. Our server gave us a complimentary portion of it and it was amazing!! Speaking of service-very friendly and professional. Food came quickly and it is some of the best Hawaiian bbq I've tasted. Portions are large-macaroni salad creamy perfection. Add this restaurant to your must visit list!

Service was quick and friendly. We all ordered the kalua pork plate. It came with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad. It all came out fairly quick. The pork had a lot of flavor. There was nothing that needed to be added to it. The rice was standard rice you get at any Hawaiian restaurant. The macaroni salad was great. It reminded me of the same stuff you get in Hawaii. My husband said the masubi was good he really enjoyed it. All in all it's a good place to get a quick and flavorful lunch.

Great Hawaiian food spot in Reno/Sparks area. Been a couple times and always reminds me of the island grinds we get when we go to hawaii. Small seating area inside but the food comes out quick and good! The mac salad is really good!

Sis up front was on point, was pretty packed @1230ish, but was quick to order, but the choices being my first visit was hard to choose. Don't judge their menu online, get way more stuff on the board (specials). Ended up with the Teri Beef fried noodles...pretty massive plate coming with the scoop Mac and one scoop rice with the teri beef noodles. Order came up quick, sat down with my plate and a Hawaiian Sun Lilikoi . Tables was clean, mix of all kine people, solid music in the background. Was some Ono (delicious) grinds...overall, was worth the trip from Carson Mahalo much gang

The chopped pork and brisket were okay, but we thought a lot of the flavor was carried from the BBQ sauce instead of the meat. The decor inside has that BBQ joint feel with some nice pig paraphernalia and Nevafa stuff. Shayla our server was very nice and courteous and made us feel right at home. My only critique involves another server who seemed very chatty with a couple who sat next to our table. She was talking with them a lot. She also made a comment after she noticed me taking photos of the inside saying "you can easily spot out the first timers." I think that's something a server should keep to themselves instead of mentioning it out loud. But that's me. I would've given this review 3.5 stars if I could just for that. But I'm giving it 4 because everything else was excellent. Would definitely come back again.

Yes, the brisket was actually INEDIBLE! It was dry, tough, rubbery, tasteless. The only way I could even power a couple of bites down was soaking it in the BBQ sauce. At least the chicken I had with it was moist and had SOME flavor. I had the grits and cheddar as one side and it's like they put them in a food processor. Grits should be gritty, not smooth like paste ( I promise I don't eat paste). The Costco applesauce was the best thing I had. We literally had to go out to lunch again. Our service was blah but at we were only charged for one meal. Not sure who finds this place acceptable, but I shall never return. Dammit! JimG

One thing we noticed right away was that the bonchon was already set on the tables before guests arrived. It wasn't a large spread--just a small tin of cheese corn and a divided tray with kimchi, bean sprouts, and fish cake--not sure how long they were left out and did look and taste dry. The servers seemed to work well together. Different team members checked on us, cleared dishes, served food, and helped other's tables. Once it got busier, they also used robot servers to help deliver food. We started with the salad with house dressing and the popcorn chicken. Both were good, and the chicken was nice and moist. For the BBQ, we ordered the Chardol, Ju Mul Luck, Hawaiian Steak, Tri-Tip Bulgogi, and Galbi (short ribs). Having eaten at quite a few Korean BBQ restaurants in Las Vegas, we noticed the portions here were a bit smaller. They also limit each round to three appetizers and four meat selections. Overall, the service was good, and we especially appreciated Eurie for being friendly and attentive. The only thing that concerned us was when another server changed our grill. Instead of lightly drizzling oil onto the grill, she forcefully squeezed the bottle, causing the oil to shoot out onto grill. It seemed like an unnecessary safety risk for both guests and employees. Our favorites were definitely the Tri-Tip Bulgogi and the Galbi. Both were flavorful and tender. The Chardol was good, but the slices were very thin and the portion felt a little small. The restaurant filled up quickly between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., so it's clearly a popular spot. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back for the Tri-Tip Bulgogi, Galbi, and the teamwork displayed by the staff.

As someone who occasionally likes to eat alone, I really appreciate that. I've visited several times over the years, including recently under the newer ownership. Unfortunately, some of my old favorites aren't quite the same. I used to love their deep-fried oysters, which are no longer on the menu and have been replaced with deep-fried mussels. The kimchi stew recipe also seems to have changed and wasn't as memorable as before. That said, they still serve my favorite gopchang (beef small intestine). When cooked properly, it gets wonderfully crispy and reminds me of Mexican tripas tacos--definitely worth ordering. I'd personally skip the bibimbap appetizer. The rice was hard, the ground beef was cold, and it felt like it relied too heavily on the gochujang sauce for flavor. Even with those changes, I'll continue supporting this business. Service was also attentive.
