Silt Wine Company continues to be one of our favorite wineries in the region, and this is an updated review based on our experience as long-time wine club members and frequent visitors. We receive quarterly shipments and visit regularly for tastings or a glass of wine, particularly during the summer and fall. The wine itself is consistently very good, especially the red wines. Their red blends are a real strength--the BDX blend is a great example and one we return to often. We also appreciate the inclusion of less common varietals, such as Teroldego, which has become one of our favorites. Many of the wines lean toward Spanish varietals, which makes sense given the Clarksburg AVA and helps distinguish Silt from more conventional tasting rooms. That said, they also offer a solid lineup of white and sparkling wines. While I'm not typically much of a white-wine drinker, their whites are often floral, complex, and refreshing without being overly sweet. I frequently enjoy them on site--especially during warm weather and when using my complimentary tastings as a wine club member. The sparkling wines are also well done and fit the setting nicely. The tasting experience itself is relaxed and well paced. Like many wineries today, service is brought directly to your table rather than handled at a traditional wine bar, which works especially well here. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly without being intrusive. As regulars, we're often recognized when we arrive--particularly my partner, who is far more outgoing than I am--which adds to the welcoming, community feel. The tasting room is housed in a historic, refurbished barn set among vineyards and adjacent to a slough. One side is framed by large heritage trees, the other by open vineyard views. It's a beautiful setting, though naturally open to the elements. The facilities are thoughtfully designed, with a variety of seating options including high tables, low tables, and couches. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. In warmer months, swamp coolers help keep the barn comfortable, and in cooler weather, heat lamps are available. During summer, mosquitoes can be present given the proximity to the slough, but insect repellent is provided. They regularly host live music events, where wine can be purchased by the glass or bottle, and food trucks are often available. These events feel lively and social without becoming crowded or chaotic. This winery was formerly Wilson Family Winery, which was successful in its own right, and the current iteration has clearly built on that foundation. We've visited many wineries over the years and consider ourselves fairly serious wine enthusiasts, and in our opinion, Silt Wine Company stands out as one of the best wineries in Clarksburg and even beyond the immediate region. It's a genuine gem and one we're always happy to return to. read more

YOLO County, Sacremento Surprisingly good. This is a place where you could actually hang out for an entire afternoon with friends and play a board game... Drink wine and have cheese and other goodies. Definitely a niche place. We love the fact that the owner's home was right on the property... You pass it when you are headed to the winery. A child was playing with a ball in the driveway! I can't even remember what we had but being a fan of red and disliking white, I was really pleased at the two whites we had. One had a coconut flavor, really! And it was delicious. The menu is interesting... We chose a few cheeses, meat and bread, and they literally arrived in the packaging. We had to open our own box of crackers and cut open the cheese. Anyway, it contributed to the Homey comfortable atmosphere of the place.... It wasn't fancy but clean, friendly and best of all this place had good wine. read more

Truly a hidden gem! Went here with some friends on a Friday when there was live music. The winery/tasting is located in a large modern/chic barn with plenty of seating and heaters. They also provide blankets. The service was great and friendly. You can purchase tacos behind the bar and it was delicious. The view behind the barn that looks out into the stunning sunset was even prettier! It was our first time, didn't sign up for a membership but purchased and finished 4 bottles. 3 Sauvignon Blanc and 1 Chenin Blanc. Beautiful farmhouse style winery that used to be a dairy farm. They have some of the best wines. I recommend the Tempranillo red but you can't go wrong with any of their wines. The best part is the events they hold which are free but by reservation. We recently enjoyed seeing a local favorite rockabilly band Dyana And The Cherry Kings. We enjoyed the pizza served and well the music was amazing! Perfect date night for us. Charming, cozy, and fun. Tasted here recently and the wines were superb. I really liked the cab franc! I was a little disappointed that the tasting fee wasn't waived with purchase, even as an industry person. A little expensive trip for me, but the wines were very nice. Not sure I'll be back or recommend anyone there, but the grounds were gorgeous! I'm updating this review, I was contacted by Silt and they resolved my issue and refunded me the tasting fee. They don't waive it, except for wine industry, so that was really nice!! Visited Silt Winery to see some bands play from School of Rock. I have never been there before. The place was hidden, down a road full of trees with beautiful views of the vineyards. As we got closer, there was plenty of parking and it was packed with people. The inside was a rustic feel and was a full vibe! We immediately went to the wine bar to try the wine. We tried their Merlot and Chardonnay. Both were delicious. A little pricey per glass so next time I would buy a bottle of wine first which we ended up doing later lol! The bottle we tried was a Syrah and the taste was smooth and light. The service was also attentive and both ladies that helped us were kind and welcoming. Went for a work event. Space was absolutely stunning. Definitely could see this being a wedding venue. The wines were very good. I did a small flight at the end. But for the most part i had the sparkling rose and even though I prefer stills I'd still drink that again. My absolute favorite was the reclamation fog. It's by bottle only and i was privileged enough to be able to experience it when it was bought for the table. The cab Franc was also another of my favorites. A cute and delicious spot to wine taste at! We came here last minute and luckily they were able to take us without a reservation, but we probably just got lucky. I don't remember the name of our server but he was great - friendly, attentive, and he told us how he used to be a member and started working there because he was so passionate about their wine. Gorgeous place. I can't say enough about how beautiful the grounds are. The drive to Silt is gorgeous too. Love the winding road, and I actually don't mind the ocasional bike riders on the road that slow my drive to Silt...that's how gorgeous the street to get there is. The tasting room itself is spacious. There's a couple of different rooms, and there's no bad seating area. The quality of wine is impressive. My sisters, my partner and I have different love of wines, and we all agreed these wines are solid! Some like certain wines more than others, but we all left enjoying our tasting...so much so we became wine club members! Some of our faves: Sparkling Chenin Blanc, 2019 Pinot Noir, 2021 Rose of Valdiguie, and my personal favorite, 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. I do have to say, please bring your patience...by no means is the service bad, they just don't come around as often as one likes when in a time crunch. I wouldn't come here first if you have another appointment. They do have yummy snacks, even vegan snacks, so you won't become Hangry, but if you have plans, just give yourself enough time so not to ruin this beautiful place and wine. Great wine and excellent sommelier ... she really new her wines. It was a crazy hot day and they had air chillers that definitely helped. Sparking Chenin blanc is one of favorites and is smooth clean no tartness. The Rose came in second with crisp light with a blackberry note Sauvignon blanc is a delicious red Slightly Grassy and fruity at the same time. Our 1st time visiting the winery & had a great time there. The tasting room is inside the barn that's decorated in a wooden farmhouse style that you feel very comfortable in. $25 for wine tasting & you get to try 4 wines. We also ordered some crackers, cheese & hummus thinking they will come out in bowls or plates but they all came out in store packages instead. Our server, Katie explained that they don't really prepare food there.The snacks went pretty well with the wine Katie recommended for us. She's a doll!!! This is the Silt I remember! I'll count the last experience as some COVID-Crazy blip on the radar of otherwise fabulous visits. The full wine tasting menu is back and glorious--lots of whites and reds to sample and each one is different and tasty. I was especially surprised by the Merlot which had very intriguing black pepper and cumin notes to it. A spicy Merlot I can get behind! Yum! Carey was a wonderful host holding down the fort solo. 5 stars for their awesome customer service! I came here to tour this beautiful place as a possible location for a future event of mine. After the tour, my friend came to meet up with me so we could catch up and although there was a sign about making reservations prior to wine tasting, Robyn was so gracious enough to speak with Gail at the bar to get us a last minute reservation. We were seated very quickly and Philip was assisting us from start to finish. Philip was super friendly, very personable and provided us with great suggestions on which wines to try. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay for the whites and the Tempranillo was also really good out of all the reds we tried and that was one of Philip's suggestions. Philip was awesome!! He knew the wines and after our reviews of a few whites we tried, he knew which red we would like. He went above and beyond and checked in on us often to see how we were doing. Even though our tasting was comped by Robyn, he still provided us with the same courtesy and service as a paying customer. At the end of his shift, he checked in on us one last time and informed us he was getting off soon. We tipped him generously as a thank you for his awesome customer service! Pinspo vibes come to Clarksburg! Silt is the perfect hidden gem of Clarksburg. While everyone turns left as they cross the Delta, I implore you to turn right and snake your way to Silt Wine Company. You won't regret it. As of right now, they only offer private tastings. However, anyone can request one, it just needs to be planned. Most likely, you'll work with Shannon to schedule and she'll be working the tasting room as well. She is an absolute doll and so hospitable and friendly, its a nice change of pace from the typical wine snob owners. I enjoyed the variety of wines we tasted while we were there. They weren't my favorite, but I definitely enjoyed them. I especially liked that a handful of their tastings are grown right here, behind their tasting room. This is where the name of their winery comes from. Silt, per Shannon, is the sediment left after the Delta waters wash away (I hope I said that correctly, pardon any errors in my recollection of what silt means). And to tie in their pinspo vibe, even more, each label is different and represents this too. The little touches to their tasting room may go unnoticed to the average person. But, I noticed all the small touches they put into their home away from home. The engraving of their name on their tables, the farm truck inside the barn/tasting room, the flowers, the decor, the almonds on a charcuterie board, the couches, and especially the heating lamps. Everything was put together with thought and detail, just like their wines. I love this place. It is a refreshing addition to Clarksburg and to meet the owner was an added touch that brings their wine a lovely, local feel. A tasting is $15 per person and you get about seven tastes, members also have the option to try three additional private tastest too! Shannon didn't even force membership on anyone, which was also nice. Some of our group did inquire and they have it laid out beautifully in three handouts. Located in the beautiful Clarksburg Wine Valley, This hidden gem is a great comfortable place to have a glass of wine or two. I have been to Silt Wine Company three times. The first two times I was there was to do some wine tasting and the third time was for a wedding. Silt W.C. is hidden down off the road, when you turn into the drive way it looks like you are going down onto someone's farm. You see a huge house and a barn. As you drive down around the barn you run right to the big gravel parking lot. The barn is actually the tasting area with a beautiful inside and an amazing outdoor area. The inside tasting area is super rustic giving you the country vibe, while the outside area give you the elegant feeling. Wine Tasting is $15, but you get a good amount of tastings. The 2017 Chenin Blanc is one of my favorites. I can taste the fruit in it along with the citrus flavor. Too me is very refreshing and great for a nice fall evening. The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc is somewhat dry with hints on tropical fruit and grapefruit The 2017 Gewurztraminer is probably my favorite. It super easy to drink. It goes down smooth and doesn't leave a bad after taste. If you try it, You will get a great fruity wine taste that is very crisp and refreshing. The 2018 Rose of Valdiguie is another one of my favorites. Who doesn't like a Rose. Its super easy to drink. Its got a strong strawberry taste. Very smooth with a cherry after taste. I have been here a few times, and I am fan of Silt Wine. I am particularly fond of their chardonnay. I am not normally a chardonnay fan, but Silt's is not too dry for my taste. I love coming to the winery (when there is not a stay-at-home order) and sit outside in the sunshine and sip on their wine. The tables are properly spaced apart to maintain social distance between groups. The staff are always very nice and love to talk about the wine. I love it when the employees actually like the wine they are serving, and are willing to talk about it. Sometimes at other wineries, I feel employees just want to serve and move on to the next group. There is a lack of interaction or wanting to share information about the wine. I have never had this experience at Silt. Silt also has a decent selection of cheeses, jams, etc. to snack on while drinking wine. I cannot say which ones are my favorite, because I have liked everything that I have ever tasted. read more

I am a member of this wine club. I brought some family members to this spot As I have always had good experiences here and always enjoyed myself today while I brought family. The service was very poor the staff was extremely rude. We got there to do some wine tasting. And we were rushed through the whole process. She said they sent somebody home because it wasn't very busy. And there were other tables around us. People drinking and the woman named Teresa that served us was rushing us to get out. So she could lock everything up and close down. While she was rushing to get us out, nobody else was being asked to hurry up and finish their drinks so they can close. Was not very professional on their part. When they brought the pitcher of water to us when we first arrived, the picture of water was given with no glasses when they poured the wine in the glasses for tasting. It was pretty much rushed through poor and she'd walk away and expect us to be done when she came back with the next bottle. Not a good experience at all, definitely thinking of leaving the membership. This review is long past due (but during quarantine I'm catching up on my reviewing!) A friend wanted to end the year (2019) on a nice note and invited a group of us for tasting at Silt. I have to admit, the name threw me off a bit, when I think of "Silt" I don't think "Something I'd like to taste" I am so glad I put that idea aside and gave this place a try. We had a pretty large group (10) and even though our host was a member and didn't need a reservation: we made one. The environment was so lovely, there were cute little throw blankets all around in case anyone got chilly and we got amazing service. There wasn't a bad wine in the bunch and there were several on my "to purchase" list. All in all, I would highly recommend a winter gathering here and will be back to check them out in the warmer months. read more

Beautiful winery but to be honest, that's all they have going for it. Customer service is dismal. We made reservations for our group of 6. Once we were seated no one came to welcome us, talk about our tasting, or tell us about the winery. We sat there for close to a 1/2 hour before one of us had to go search out someone. The person we finally got to help us messed up our food order more than once. The icing on the cake is that our group was overcharged over $300 for the visit. Our friend that paid for everyone still hasn't been able to have any resolution with her credit card overpayment with the winery after many attempts. Their wine isn't great either so I would definitely not go back or recommend this winery to anyone. read more

By reservation can be a drag, however, times are different now. A little planning ahead gets a nice reward. This was a belated Father's Day outing with our son, Jimmy. Country lanes and levie roads lead to a tucked-away, flowered, old tree farmhouse and updated barn with tasty things inside. Parking is easy and close to the entrances. We were greeted quickly (Theresa, Shannon and Mackenzie) and seated in one of many areas that feel like a familiar, family-backyard. Servers Theresa and Mackenzie made us feel at home and special.
