Beautiful farmhouse style winery that used to be a dairy farm. They have some of the best wines. I recommend the Tempranillo red but you can't go wrong with any of their wines. The best part is the events they hold which are free but by reservation. We recently enjoyed seeing a local favorite rockabilly band Dyana And The Cherry Kings. We enjoyed the pizza served and well the music was amazing! Perfect date night for us. Charming, cozy, and fun. We have been coming here over the years after discovering it on a fun road trip drive up the Sacramento river.

Visited Silt Winery to see some bands play from School of Rock. I have never been there before. The place was hidden, down a road full of trees with beautiful views of the vineyards. As we got closer, there was plenty of parking and it was packed with people. The inside was a rustic feel and was a full vibe! We immediately went to the wine bar to try the wine. We tried their Merlot and Chardonnay. Both were delicious. A little pricey per glass so next time I would buy a bottle of wine first which we ended up doing later lol! The bottle we tried was a Syrah and the taste was smooth and light. The service was also attentive and both ladies that helped us were kind and welcoming. They also had wood fire pizzas which was soooo good! The real deal! Can't wait to visit again and chill outside to enjoy the wine, food and the views.

Went for a work event. Space was absolutely stunning. Definitely could see this being a wedding venue. The wines were very good. I did a small flight at the end. But for the most part i had the sparkling rose and even though I prefer stills I'd still drink that again. My absolute favorite was the reclamation fog. It's by bottle only and i was privileged enough to be able to experience it when it was bought for the table. The cab Franc was also another of my favorites. The service was amazing and the ladies were very helpful

Loved this hidden gem so much, we decided to become members. Amongst all the wineries, their wines are my #1. Love the cozy beautiful winery itself, with the lovely views of the vineyard especially at sunset. Truly a must visit.

We were invited to Silt by our friends who are members. Such a beautiful and welcoming winery! We thoroughly enjoyed all the wine selections we tried and Mia (I think that was her name) made our experience exceptional! Kudos to her for her over the top service and smiles! We look forward to coming back again soon to experience some of the other wines. It may seem like a long country road to get there, but trust me, it is well worth it!!

Great wine and excellent sommelier ... she really new her wines. It was a crazy hot day and they had air chillers that definitely helped. Sparking Chenin blanc is one of favorites and is smooth clean no tartness. The Rose came in second with crisp light with a blackberry note Sauvignon blanc is a delicious red Slightly Grassy and fruity at the same time. It's a small little gem ... make sure you call and book.

I was lucky enough to have my wedding at Silt in November of this year. My husband and I had an incredibly smooth and painless experience planning our wedding thanks to the wonderful people at Silt. They are accommodating, organized and kind at every step of the way! I even became a wine club member during our wedding planning process because I was so impressed! My wedding day was truly perfect and that was all thanks to this wonderful business.

Our 1st time visiting the winery & had a great time there. The tasting room is inside the barn that's decorated in a wooden farmhouse style that you feel very comfortable in. $25 for wine tasting & you get to try 4 wines. We also ordered some crackers, cheese & hummus thinking they will come out in bowls or plates but they all came out in store packages instead. Our server, Katie explained that they don't really prepare food there. The snacks went pretty well with the wine Katie recommended for us. She's a doll!!! You can bring your own snacks there, they don't mind. We also went for a walk outside & the place is gorgeous! I can sit there relaxing & sipping wine all day long...

This is the Silt I remember! I'll count the last experience as some COVID-Crazy blip on the radar of otherwise fabulous visits. The full wine tasting menu is back and glorious--lots of whites and reds to sample and each one is different and tasty. I was especially surprised by the Merlot which had very intriguing black pepper and cumin notes to it. A spicy Merlot I can get behind! Yum! Carey was a wonderful host holding down the fort solo. I was cared for and entertained throughout my stay. Thanks, Silt and Carey, for a great afternoon.

My husband and I got married here in October 2024 and had the best experience. Robyn and her team made wedding planning seamless. We used the Isabella package and were very happy with all the vendors. Our guests were blown away by the event. For weeks, our family and friends could not stop talking about how incredible the wedding was. People said it was the BEST wedding they had ever been to. We would have to agree! Would definitely recommend Silt as a wedding or event venue. (Photos by Allison Stahl)

Tucked away in Clarksburg, this woman-owned winery is charming and intimate. The parking lot is small (around 15 cars), but it's conveniently located right off the main road, so it's easy to find. Wine highlights: * 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (bestseller): rich and layered with ripe strawberry, plum, mocha, and a hint of spice * 2023 Montepulciano (2026 SF Chronicle Gold Winner): light, easy drinking with raspberry, cranberry, and herbal notes * 2023 Durif (my favorite): dark, bold, and complex with blackberry, plum, and a smooth structured finish * 2021 Blanc de Noir sparkling: light, crisp, and bubbly * 2025 Verdejo (new release): fresh, aromatic with peach and citrus Wine flights (any 4) are only $15: great value. Shoutout to the West Sacramento/ Clarksburg area…read more... The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg is a historic beet sugar refinery from 1934-1993 that has wine shops and tasting rooms for local wineries. They have over a dozen wineries. Wine tastings average $15 and most wineries waive the fee if you buy a bottle. They have wine shops in the main building and in the other building. Don't forget to walk back and to the right to the shops in the separate back building, there is 3-4 more wineries. Each winery are literal walled shops with their own seating areas. Temperature controlled which is nice on hot summer days. Each have their own wine tasting, food offerings, and special events. Old Sugar Mill is less than 15 minute drive from downtown Sacramento. The buildings are beautiful. They kept the historic brick walls and exterior. It has a modern shabby chic look. Three different brands owned the refinery. It all began in 1934 with Amalgamated, American Crystal Sugar Factory (1936-1982), and Delta Sugar (1983-1993). The sugar was refined by local Northern Californian grown beets. The buildings was renovated in 2000 for its current use. Awesome concept and beautiful architecture design. They also host weddings and events. They have a banquet room with slideshow equipment. There is also an outdoor lawn and adjoining paved patio area that is shaded in the afternoon by the buildings that would make for a gorgeous wedding venue. On hot summer days, the Delta breeze kicks in for instant cool down. No outside food are picnics are allowed. On the weekends, they have food trucks. Plus the majority of the wineries sell food (appetizers) as well. Also no pets are allowed (excluding service animals). The restrooms are located right by the front entrance.

I bet in the sweltering heat of our summers this is the perfect place to be. The Sugar Mill is an indoor venue. They have three different building with different wineries at this time. So, there is a little walking outside. Wine Barrels- You can buy half wine barrels for your garden for sale. Seating- They have lots of little seating areas. Inside they have a whole room with seating and nice decor. The tables are draped in white table cloths and there are stacks of wine barrels as the back drop. They have a palm court in the back and it's so quaint and beautiful. Perfect for sipping some wine slowly and chit chatting with friends. If you are looking to sit in the sun there is are a set of tables and chairs out back near the food truck. Ambiance- I love the location and building. It's an old Sugar Mill that produced sugar from sugar beets. That industry has now ended and it's now a place to visit many wineries. It's the only place that I know of that have numerous wineries and offer wine tasing for a minimum fee.

But we had never been to the Bogle Family Ranch and Vineyards outside of Clarksburg, CA. We finally reserved a couple of hours to visit the winery - and can't say enough good things! We enjoyed several, terrific wines not available in our local stores - such as their delicious Sparkling Rose! But more importantly, experienced a lovely afternoon on the BEAUTIFUL Bogle Family Ranch grounds! Everything around us was green and gorgeous; with cool breezes due to the surrounding water of the Sacramento River. The picnic tables were warm and inviting. The snacks were great (we brought a picnic lunch). And EVERY employee with which we spoke was excited to educate and inspire us - taking great pride in Bogle Family's six generations of Delta farming; sincere commitment to sustainability and the community; and vision of how the family plans to continue the winery's growth and international expansion, while maintaining its commitment to winemaking excellence. Every staff member that we met had been Bogle employees for over 10 years at least (a couple over 30!). The wine and property are lovely -- unfortunately the welcome at the door felt like an audition for "Most Judgmental Winery Greeter." When we walked in, the woman at the front greeted us with a slow head-to-toe scan before even saying hello. For context, we weren't exactly stumbling in from a river float -- Patagonia, designer black jeans, nice casual wine-country attire. My partner was dressed similarly. Completely normal for a winery visit. Since it was my first time there, I asked where we should go. She informed us -- while continuing the visual inspection -- that upstairs was reserved for more formally dressed guests with reservations. The upstairs area, by the way, was completely empty. She then told us we could "go help ourselves around the corner." The tone was less "welcome to wine country" and more "you appear to be beneath the staircase." Honestly, I've been to plenty of wineries, from casual tasting rooms to higher-end spots, and I've never been greeted with that level of instant judgment. It was oddly hostile for a place that literally sells a beverage meant for relaxing. The ironic part is that after getting past that moment, the rest of the experience was actually nice. The wine was good, the grounds are pretty, and the other staff we interacted with were perfectly pleasant. But that initial interaction? Brutal. If first impressions matter (and they do in hospitality), someone might want to let the front door know that sizing people up like a nightclub bouncer at 1am isn't exactly the warm, welcoming winery vibe most people are hoping for. Great wine. Beautiful place. One spectacularly toxic greeting.

However, cruising on the water in a covered boat was very comfortable., Captain Emil is the best! He was very knowledgeable about the local vineyards and served generous pours of local wines. He only pours wines you can't get in stores and buys from small wineries that aren't usually open to the general public. The charcuterie platter was very generous- more than the 4 of us could eat. He offered additional pours of other wines or the opportunity to 'revisit' the wines we liked. All in all a wonderful experience and we plan to make this an annual event!

Captain Emil was amazing and kept us entertained! You have options of either drinking beer or wine and our captain is very generous so if you ever want to revisit a drink, just let him know. We got to play our own music and it was all great vibes all around. The star was the charcuterie board and everything about it was delicious! It paired well with the wine selection. We requested to have it 30 mins earlier and he was able to accommodate our request. Definitely listen to the captain's instructions and make sure to arrive on time to get the most out of your experience. If you're ever in the Sacramento area, definitely add this to your itinerary! What a great family/friends bonding!
