First off the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL inside! The staff are truly welcoming and make sure you are taken care of. This meal was ONE OF THE BEST I have EVER had!! Every. Single. Bite. Was delicious P.s the portions are definitely big enough to share. My husband and I got an entree each and could have most certainly split one. We finished our rice and were even asked if we wanted more! Do yourself a favor and come here ASAP!

Another amazing lunch at the Silver coin. Start with a little garlic naan bread never go wrong with naan. We had four different people waiting on us today. We did not want for anything. Atmosphere is 100% Indian. Never had a bad meal at Silver Coin!

I enjoy eating Indian food. However, for some reason, I had never heard of this particular restaurant. Earlier this week. I was able to have lunch at this restaurant with my Leadership Hoover class and I definitely enjoyed everything that they prepared for us. I had the opportunity to try some new things. I was most excited about the dessert that was offered because I had never tried an Indian dessert. This restaurant has meeting spaces that would be great for anyone that wants to have a larger lunch or dinner type party or if they need meeting space for whatever reason. I do think you should check this place out!

Tried the shrimp scampi pasta and it was better than I expected. The sauce was buttery and had a nice citrusy twist. Shrimp were cooked well and tasted fresh. The noodles soaked up the flavor without being soggy. Portion size was generous and I even had leftovers. Service was quick and the staff was welcoming. Definitely worth checking out if you love seafood pasta.

I had heard that Silver Coin is many times very busy for dinner. Decided to go for lunch and it was surprisingly not at all busy; it may have been considered early for their lunch crowd, as a few more people came in towards the end of our meal, and there were some pick-up orders, too. I ordered the Chicken Rashmi Kebab. Served not too differently than fajitas, it came sizzling hot and smelled fantastic. The chicken was not spicy (didn't expect it to be) and the onions were perfectly cooked. Be sure to squeeze the lemon over it for a little brightness to the dish. My companions do have food sensitivities, and the staff was knowledgeable and very conscientious about getting their dishes correct. Next time I go, I am eyeballing the chana masala or the chicken tikka tandoori

    A good word!

Silver Coin has been around forever. My review is long overdue. This is a neighborhood place ~ Hoover's jazz bands used to play here occasionally. They also used to have a fabulous lunch buffet ~ a pre-COVID delight that is now gone. So why give this place a try now? Wonderful Indian food. The staff likely knows way more about Indian food than you do, so if you're uncertain, ask for (and follow) their recommendations. We went with Chicken Tikka and Chicken Curry with Moderate Spices (You can go Mild, Moderate, or Spicy) and naan. So so so good! Food is served promptly and is quite enough to share. The rice is fragrant and the perfect complement to the spicier dishes. Yum. Yum. Yum! Decor is a little dated, but not enough to detract from your dining.

I sat on the patio, which made for a relaxing dining experience. Carlos took great care of me and provided friendly, attentive service throughout my visit. I choose the air conditioning over the entertainment but from what I was able to hear the young lady singing is very talented. When I came in I was NOT immediately greeted. It took a while to be acknowledged but once I was seated I had a great experience. My server was great and the atmosphere is really nice. It's dark with flickering hanging chandeliers. The place was clean with people actively cleaning. I started things off with a strawberry cheesecake martini and it was so good I wanted to curl up in a corner and tell them to keep them coming. It was like a dessert in a cup so if sweet isn't your thing, definitely skip this one. It was, however, not sickeningly sweet. It was perfect. I got a cup of the gumbo yaya, which has shrimp, crab, chicken, and sausage. It was some of the best gumbo I have had in a while. It was perfectly seasoned and had a little kick. Next, I had one of their specialties, the NOLA Chicken. You can choose grilled or blackened chicken served on top of creamy mashed potatoes with diced tomatoes, green onions, and covered in a delicious creamy lobster sauce with a side of grilled asparagus. It was delicious. The seasoning was spot on and the chicken was tender. The lobster sauce made the dish. My only complaint with the dish was a single stalk of reedy asparagus but the others were tender. My last course was the bread pudding. I really wanted to say how delicious it was but it was just good, not great. It was made from Gambino bread and had a warm whiskey cream sauce and chocolate drizzle but the pudding was missing something. Fruit like raisins maybe? It was just a little too bland for me. I'm definitely trying the key lime pie next time. I recommend this place for a nice night out

If you want a flawlessly executed steakhouse dinner in the Birmingham area without the pretentious price tag, this is your place. I ordered the 12oz ribeye with a baked potato, and both were cooked exactly to order. My wife started with their huge, fresh house salad before tackling the massive 16oz ribeye and a fully loaded baked potato. Honestly, the 16oz cut looked like something straight out of The Flintstones--it was beautifully charred, incredibly juicy, and absolutely massive. The service matched the stellar quality of the kitchen. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and kept my sweet tea topped off the entire night (which is no easy task!). We wrapped up the evening with a slice of chocolate cake. It was literally the size of a diner-style napkin dispenser--decadent, moist, and downright delicious. Budget-wise, it's a high-end steakhouse experience, so expect to spend a little money. However, compared to other premium steakhouses around Birmingham, their pricing is incredibly fair and easily on the lower end of the fine-dining spectrum. You get amazing portions, top-tier quality, and fantastic service. Highly recommended!
