Haven't been to silver diner in a few years. The menu has changed since the last time I was here. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was outstanding. I thought I would give this place a second chance since my first experience was with a bad server & not the restaurant itself.. but I definitely regret ordering here today. I called in an order for delivery & they got the whole order wrong. I'm not sure how you really mess up such a simple order of just 1 appetizer & 1 sandwich but they did. Good coffee and refreshing orange juice led to our enjoyable brunch selections. The "American Favorite" - eggs / sausage / home fries / biscuit hit the spot. The "Bison Huevos-Rancheros" is my son's favorite. With whole wheat tortillas / eggs over easy / peppers / scallions / goat cheese, and guacamole - there's plenty going on with this dish - and it all works. So I'm not here to complain but I am here to reiterate the lack of care from their TO GO staff. 9/9 times I have called in an order for takeout , they have gotten something wrong: didn't cook the meat enough, meal looks smashed, missing items, given a sprinkle of fries for a $20 burger, food is cold, food is the wrong order, food is the wrong combination. Every. Single. Time. 8/9 times when the order was placed, the restaurant has no more than 10 people dining in. I could understand if they were busy but at this point, it's just carelessness. The manager needs to step up and assure the employees are packaging quality items. This place is expensive! The one thing that blows my mind is that IF YOU DINE IN, service and food are fantastic!! Service: 2, Food: 4.5, Atmosphere: 4 I live within walking distance from this location, and was excited for it to open when we were aware that a Silver Diner was being built. I've been here about 5 times and have had relatively consistent experiences, so I felt like it was time to share a fair review. Overall, I really like the variety in the menu, and the food has been pretty good for the most part (why a picture of the chef is on the menu and not some enticing food, idk). Other than the food, the other aspect keeping me coming back is that the outdoor seating area has been great during the warm weather, &there really isn't a similar comparison in the area. The service is really what puzzles me. First I have to say that every server I've had has been very nice & helpful, but the confusion and lack of attentiveness overall has been a problem with all of my experiences there so far. On one occasion, I ordered a dish that came with fries & coleslaw. I told the server that I didn't like coleslaw and asked if I could just substitute it with fries instead. When the answer was that no substitutions for another side was allowed because of the difference in size, I asked if I could just get some "additional fries" instead of any coleslaw at all - whatever size they thought was fair. The answer was no, so ultimately the coleslaw I got went to waste. On another occasion, we came in and saw a sign at the entrance saying that happy hour was until 7 with $5 craft cocktails. It was 6:49 so when we got seated, we made it clear to the host that we wanted to get happy hour & asked if we could get see what craft cocktails we could get. She dropped off a menu and said our server would come soon. When the server came, we put in our order & she was totally on the same page in helping us get the order in before 7. We pointed out 2 drinks on the menu we were given under "craft cocktails" and then found an online food menu to order food dishes under the HH deal. Our server came back later to tell us that the bar said my bf's drink was not part of HH. We asked for clarification because it wasn't clear which drinks were/were not based on the entrance sign & the menu we were given by the host. We were happy to change the order but simply didn't understand where to choose from. Our server said the bar would honor the HH price because of any confusion. When our food finally arrived, we were brought chicken tenders when we had ordered sliders. They had to bring that back to the kitchen to get it resolved. When the other dishes came out (fries and brussel sprouts), a different server brought them and told us that they weren't HH sizes so we'd have to pay regular price .... this was very confusing to us b/c we didn't ask for them to be regular sizes ... we ordered them because they were on the HH menu, so the decision to make them larger was not on us. Luckily, our server stepped in & said she was going to get that worked out and that she had it under control. We got the check & it DID honor the confusion with the drinks but the rest of the check was just completely wrong. We were charged for the regular-sized prices and not the HH prices for our food, and charged for chicken tenders (in addition to the sliders) even though they were sent back to the kitchen due to the mistake. I ended up bringing this to the manager to get resolved. It was handled promptly, & the manager was apologetic about the confusion. We ended up getting charged about $30 too much before he fixed it for us. We later found out that our server was relatively new & also had not worked HH hours before, which is totally understandable but more care and attention needs to be paid when providing the check after promising that everything was taken care of. The manager also showed us the correct HH menu, so the hosts/staff also need proper training to understand which one to provide customers. On our most recent occasion, we ordered a crown & coke but received a coke instead, but later realized that the underage server wasn't familiar with alcoholic drinks (more training could help here to have servers ask for clarifcation from the customer/other staff). When we got the bill, we were charged for both drinks. The server said that was correct and later said it was a mistake. On all occasions, we always get water more than 10 min after we are greeted (which is usually about 10 min after we're seated), and even making the effort to get drinks out to us while we're waiting could help to mitigate the other service issues. We have always felt forgotten about as customers. Unfortunately, we've also heard people seated around us complain about the service as well, even talking to managers to explain their frustration. Again, all the servers we've had have been pleasant, and management seems like they are eager to help & resolve issues, but I feel that there is a disconnect in the number of staff needed & training, &the importance of customer service is not enough of a focus. read more

She also had a side of the caramel French toast and it was delicious!! With each bite of The Benedict you can taste the flavor. There was spinach and tomatoes added to it and I loved it. For the drinks we ordered a regular cranberry mimosa. There was a lot more champagne than juice ( which we LOVED). The first time I ordered they did not follow instructions and gave me a triple decker with sourdough (although I specifically chose gluten free bread). The sweet potato fries that came with the order were undercooked-- not sure how you could possibly mess up fries. After this order fiasco, silver diner reached out to me via email and offered a discount on my next order. Today I decided to give them another try and my order was worse! I went for breakfast on Monday 7/15/24 and I requested 2 orders of pancakes and a mac and cheese for me and my son the pancakes came first and the mac and cheese took 40min to arrive for some reason. one of the pancakes order had a nasty taste and when I told my server (Asian) she didn't offered anything and she was rude about it even when she took the order . My friend asks me why she was been rude. I did not wanted to make an scene but I at least wanted to change the pancakes since I couldn't eat it we ended up paying for it and left I don't know what was wrong with the lady she was probably having a bad day but that also ruined mine since it wasn't just me but my son was there too. We decided to visit Silver Diner for breakfast since it's close to the house. It's actually within ‍ walking distance but we elected to drive. This location doesn't have on-site parking, so we park across the street and walk over. There's a retail garage but they probably charge to park and I am morally opposed to paying for parking at any establishment where I am patronizing their business (but that's another story for another forum). I have visited this location when they first opened and it was very nice. Excellent customer service. Good food. This time was no different. Excellent customer service and great food. The menu has changed since my last visit and I have zero problems with that. I like that they change their menu items up from time to time especially with the addition of seasonal items. Customer service was always on point and this time was no exception. Everyone from our hostess to our servers were extraordinary. They were professional and quite attentive without being annoying. I like that. They weren't intrusive by any means but managed to be there when needed as if they read minds. The food was a bit pricey but worth it. Everything was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. If you wanted ingredients added or omitted, they were rather accommodating. Everything is made fresh, so modifications are not a problem. Nothing was lacking. The ambiance and cleanliness were spot on. Side note: if interested, you DO NOT have to wear a mask inside this establishment. I know masks are a sore spot of contention for some but regardless of your views I thought I'd mention it. I highly recommend Silver Diner. I have visited several locations and none have disappointed. Of all, THIS location is my favorite and I plan to become a regular patron. Silver diner is a great spot to grab breakfast (and I'm already looking forward to returning for a milkshake on the patio). The breakfast menu had a good amount of options and is sure to please if you enjoy omelettes, scramblers, bacon, pancakes, eggs, and French toast (breakfast food lol). There were also lots of options for lunch/dinner spanning 3 pages of the menu but I was only there for breakfast. Parking is free in the garage and again there are indoor and outdoor dining options. We often go out to eat. Recently though, even when the food was good; the service was not. In fact, being former servers ourselves, we were getting very jaded. This changed today when we were lucky enough to get Taron O. as our server. She is funny, kind and very knowledgeable about the food. Mostly though, she impressed us by how very attentive she was! In fact, she gave us the perfect amount of attention while allowing us the time to enjoy our meals too. Even better; she seemed to anticipate our needs before we had even thought of them. As usual, the food was not only delicious and the portions were more than generous but honestly, having Taron take care of us was the piece de resistance.
