My brother and I have been coming to Silver Diner for a few years and have absolutely loved it! Every time we go, we always have great service, great food and a great time catching up. We have gone all days of the week and all sorts of time and Silver Diner is always able to fit us in. Even when the parking lot is full, they have plenty of seating like a true diner! The ambiance in the diner makes you feel like you're in an old school diner. The menu is always changing and matching to whatever season it is. They have plenty of choices for food, my favorites have been the Cheesesteak - Smash Burger - Salmon - Old Bay Fried Shrimp - Milkshakes. Speaking of Milkshakes, if you want one of the best Milkshakes in NoVA, you better come here, these will knock you out of the park. On our previous visit, we had Heidi as our server. She was wonderful, prompt and always came to check on us at the right times, even though it was the dinner time rush on a Friday. Additionally, every time I've visited, the people at the front are awesome and the whole staff really does a great job. I have had multiple servers overtime and they always are great. We came back after one year and had a subpar experience, compared to the last good experiences. We ordered the wild caught cod which was good but looked very different from the advertised item, the vege ciabatta which was so-so, and the smash burger which was lame and definitely not recommended. Other thing I don't like is that they rush you to put your order but then disappear and when the time comes to get your bill, they are nowhere to be found. The Silver Diner in Ashburn was absolutely fantastic. We walked in and were seated right away. The place is very clean and has a great elevated diner atmosphere and ambiance. Though I did miss the diner tunes at this location. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We came in for a quick lunch and I wanted something more on the healthy side. I ordered the chicken piccata, which comes in around 600 calories. I really appreciate that the Silver Diner has some healthy options on the menu and that they locally source much of their produce. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The server even asked if we wanted drinks to go before we paid the check. Now that's what I call service. read more

I requested extra plate she waited until my meal was about done before she brought it. Tried to get a coffee to go - she brought one for two people. Holy moly - could someone supervise her. First of all they have amazing hospitality here! I went in late at night after picking up my husband from the airport. I picked up Togo food and left my wallet. The manager (Eric i believe) was kind enough to hold it for me until I realized where I'd left it and called to return for it. Their food is great; a far better selection than just diner food. The menu is extensive and it's perfect for late night eats that won't hurt your tummy. Quality food and service! Great diner decor and it feels nostalgic with a modern twist. On our vacation, we stopped into Silver Diner for breakfast on our way into DC. We were seated right away! They had a great kids menu and so many delicious looking options in the adult menu. It was hard to decide what to get! We went on the earlier side, so it wasn't too busy. As we sat there, more and more people came flooding in. Superior Gluten Free service! I ordered the warm root vegetable salad and wanted to try a shake, but noticed they didn't have a little GF symbol next to them. Our server went out of her way to see what she could do. She asked some questions of the staff in the back and they CLEANED THE SHAKE MACHINE to make sure I didn't get cross contamination. Most of the time, special dietary issues are given an eye roll and people in my situation roll the dice. This particular location has my repeat business. I had two different servers during my visit to silver diner. I first sat at a booth and ordered the American breakfast and a oatmilk latte. The server was friendly enough but not very attentive. The meal itself was ok, about 6/10. The bacon was subpar and the potatoes lacked flavor completely but they were cooked nicely. I then moved to the bar area where Evelyn served me a mimosa. She asked about my day and unfortunately I had a very rough one and she could see it. She was sympathetic and compassionate and offered me a hug. I really appreciated her compassion as I was really struggling that day. I appreciate her checking in on me regularly but not too much that I felt uncomfortable. I love the new menu at Silver Diner. I love that they have options for flexible food groupings, and many delicious options for vegetarians and vegans. As such, maybe I shouldn't have gone there for breakfast, as I found it disappointing to say the least. I love that they offered tempe bacon, which is one of those weird faux meats that I initially think isn't good, but then I eat the whole thing. You just can't expect them to taste like bacon. Once you get past that, they are rather good in their own way. They offered some "cheaper" breakfasts, in recognition that the public is sick of such exorbitant pricing, but I had to pay $1 extra to sub an English muffin for a biscuit. Wtf. Also, the home fries were not crisp. I believed they'd been cooked awhile before and were just sitting in a steamer or something. That's super lame because they're the stars of the show at any good breakfast joint. The service was good, but if you don't have good chefs on duty to make the food up to par, then you have unhappy customers. I, for one, won't be back for breakfast, at least. I paid $23 with tip and that's just insane for breakfast. read more
