We have eaten here for many years and the food has gone downhill. Most recently, at dinner, our fries were cold. The vegetables are clearly not fresh (frozen). The price is too high for subpar quality. I would only recommend a small set of breakfast food items or the milkshakes. read more

The Silver Diner we go to is on Loudoun County Pkwy in Ashburn,VA. It is our favorite place to eat breakfast. The waiter we always ask for is Bader. He is phenomenal. He sees us coming and literally gets our favorite drinks and brings them to the table right when we are seated. He is very personable with everyone. Also, the restaurant is always very clean. Went here for a family visit. We were a large group but they were able to accommodate. We ordered, and the food came out well presented and in a good temperature. This is a lovely Silver Diner! It smells clean and is inviting with the comforting diner-style decor and friendly service. Despite how busy it was, food preparation and delivery time to our table was impressively quick. The menu is extensive and overwhelming if you're hungry. No matter who you are, you can find something to eat here. I love the menu and the labels for different dietary regiments. I love the sections on the menu. This place was quite busy for lunch on a weekday, but it is summer, so maybe that's why? The service was efficient and prompt. They were friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and very well made. I tend to order the same items, and this Silver Diner had the best version of my favorite salad (Warm Roasted Local Veggie Salad) EVER. The veggies that were roasted were fresh and flavorful, not old or bland. The fresh raw veggies were delightfully crisp. The dressing was just right. I was fully satisfied by this salad. We decided to try this Silver Diner because the last time we went to the one in Reston, we noticed how bad the carpeting smelled. To be fair, it has been a while since we were there so I don't know if they had remodeled or not. Since this Silver Diner was a lot newer and had good reviews, we figured we would give it a try. We were here around 4:30 p.m. on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating, both inside and out that was available. We ended up sitting inside. Before coming here, we both knew what we wanted to order. Our server was prompt getting to us and took our drink orders. I chose to have raspberry iced tea while my husband had a Sprite. The server then went to get our drinks. When he returned, we gave him our entree orders. I chose to have the "Classic BLT" which consists of: "Nitrate free bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, toasted sourdough bread". It comes with a side of coleslaw and a choice of fries or a veggie. I chose the fries. My husband ordered "Summertime Cod" which is a seasonal dish and consists of: "wild caught Icelandic cod over quinoa and pomegranate, grilled tomatoes, asparagus, lemon-garlic sauce". This is one of their low calorie dishes as it had 600 calories in it. The kitchen was a bit on the slow side but not so bad as to be annoying. When the food came out, I noticed that my husband's cod had a strong fishy odor. That's not good at all as it means the fish was spoiled. I pointed this out to him but he said he didn't smell it so he went ahead and ate it. He gave me a small piece to try and, yes, it didn't taste right. Fortunately, he didn't get sick from eating it. My BLT was well prepared and all the ingredients were fresh. The toasted sourdough gave it a nice crunch as did the bacon. The lettuce and tomato portions were quite adequate. I liked the coleslaw as it was mildly flavored. The fries arrived freshly cooked and hot. Our server brought us seconds on our drinks since they were drinks that had free refills. We hadn't even finished the first glasses! At the end of the meal, without asking us, he brought plastic cups with lids so that we could take the drinks home. I let him know that I appreciated it. If the cod didn't smell and tasty fishy, I would have given them 4 stars. Service was great and the place was clean. However, if I ever wanted a fish entree here I would order it with great trepidation---yikes! To me, it questions just how well the BOH is being run. Despite this, we will go back. We know that if my husband spoke up, they would have rectified this. A woman sitting at a booth near us got her entree and kept coughing while she tried to eat it. It turned out that it was overly spiced. Her server brought the manager over and she was allowed to order something different, which she did. read more

The service was excellent! Staff is super friendly and hardworking. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was delicious. The crust was flaky and buttery. Chicken and veggies were perfectly cooked. As you can see in the photo it is a good size. My only thing was using sweet potato instead of a regular potato was a little odd. Place was clean and organized . Plenty of napkins, drinks, seasonings, sauces are provided. I also got a taste of the strawberry shake and it was so good. Parking is easy and there's plenty of. In stages...big pauses between service for the family, but it eventually all arrived. Food is decent. It's not like this is so special you just won't have a life if you don't ever eat it. We practically barely saw her after we were seated. I haven't had such terrible service in a long time. This was my first time here and I would NOT come back here. It's a diner like no other with menu selections more reminiscent of michelin level restaurants. Service has always been very good at every location. I've been to including the one at the BWI airport! The server was such a sweetie which made the experience even better. I ordered the pancakes, smoke salmon on hash browns, and hibiscus lemonade. Ahhh the lemonade was sooooo delicious!!! I wish I could've ordered a gallon to take home. The salmon Benedict was also quite tasty served on the hash browns(I'm pretty side the menu didn't call them has browns but I can't remember the name and they were essentially hash browns lol) Overall, I will definitely be back here to enjoy some good food! Finally got the chance to eat at this restaurant while my mom was visiting in town. We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon. After a short wait of about 10 minutes, we were seated at a table. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I was surprised to see a full bar which was nice so you weren't limited to the specialty drinks they offered. I opted to try the seasonal pumpkin espresso martini which was very good. You could really taste all the flavors not just the vodka. For my meal I had the stuffed apple French toast. I wish that I would've gotten the cream on the side because it was a bit much and I felt like it took away from the flavors of the French toast and apples. But overall it was pretty good. Found a bug on my daughter's kids meal. We called a manager and he helped take away the dead bug, and then said he would take care of it in our check. We got the check, he took off $1 for the dead bug. We thought it was a mistake, called him over. He was like yea ... I'm taking off $1 for the bug. We paid our bill and left. Before the bug made their grand appearance, they sat us in a booth that was not cleaned and had sticky syrup all over. So we waited there for 15 minutes or so for someone to come over with a rag to wipe it down. When we ordered our food, it came to the table after an hour. The table behind us who sat after us got their food and finished eating even before our food arrived. Once the food arrived, I asked for hot sauce. I got it after we finished all our food. Today was a great experience! Our waiter was also the bartender and he was great! His name was Genaro and his suggestions were spot on. They have extended happy hours and we enjoyed a cocktail and an old fashion. Dinner was phenomenal - meatloaf for the hubby.
