Silver Diner in general is one of my favorite diners in the DMV area. It feels like an actual diner, and has the same diner menu you look for, but the food is an upscale, and delicious, version of it. The fried chicken, pancakes, burrata sandwich, Reuben- all are good diner choices that have been elevated here. I love the pepper maple syrup that comes with the chicken and waffles for example. My one compliant- coleslaw should not have corn in it. The atmosphere inside takes you right back to a classic diner. Service is consistently excellent- attentive and friendly, and fast. I definitely enjoyed my breakfast at Silver Diner. The style is an updated 50's style diner. My country fried steak with scrambled eggs and home fries was very good. The sausage gravy was excellent but I had to ask for a side of it as there wasn't enough on top when it arrived. Scrambled eggs were a tiny bit over done but still acceptable. The portion size was quite large (which I appreciate). The service was good. My only minor complaint is that they play upbeat 50's, 60's & 70's music but it's too loud. Most people who go to a diner want to be able to talk. Here you have to talk over the music. I like the music. Just turn it down a little. Also, you should offer some other bagel option besides sesame seed. Plain would be perfectly fine. Thanks for a really good meal. read more

The food is great. We went to the Silver Diner for breakfast. We returned to the same shopping center four days later in the evening. This time my daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren. We ended up having dinner there. The staff is courteous and professional. We all had what we wanted for dinner. This is 2 reviews in one, as I knew I was coming again, two days from the initial time. Both times going there, the service was excellent! Music is offered at the mini jukebox at the table but you do have to wait until the song you choose comes up in the cue. Hey, all the music has been great when visiting! If you ever have a chance, try the chicken piccata, SO TASTY!!! They tenderized the slices of chicken, place it in a light sauce with vegetables.....WONDERFULLY tender, you could cut it with a fork!!! YUM! And my other visit two days later was calves liver with onions, and mashed potatoes. WOW! The liver was tenderized as well. And each meal offered a sufficient amount. 06/01/25 late lunch with a friend today at Silver Diner. We enjoyed the delightful service provided by Mallory. Super cute girl who looked after us like she was taking care of family. The perfect timing of checking in for whatever we might need.. keep up the good work... customer service to this high degree is rare, even heard a neighboring table of 6 make the same positive remarks about Mallorys service. Yummy - I really like this place because it has an incredible selection of food for everyone's palate in your party. Just going to say the number one reason for me to go here is for the milkshakes. They are delicious and fun in old fashioned tall glasses with red and white spiraled paper straws, whipped cream and a cherry. Ummm.... sold! Recently, they have added Eclipse plant-based milkshakes, so, yay! I have tried the Hibiscus-Mango and the Grasshopper milkshakes, one is fruity and the other is minty, so, pick your preference. They have so may choices for milkshakes that aren't just vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, so, that makes me happy. They bring you the milkshake in the glass and the leftover from the blender container, so that's super cool! The other best part of this place is the local food focus so your food comes from closer rather than farther, so, better for the planet, the local economy and for you. They also are great at marking up the menu with icons for those traditional concerns of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, as well as a heart symbol for lower in fat (healthy eating icon). So nice! It makes it much easier if you need one of those for your dining regimen. They have breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and late night choices, but what's super cool is the menu is an all day kind of menu. So, if you go for breakfast but you'd rather order something that is "traditionally" dinner or lunch, you can order it! Yay! There are drinks and drink specials as well, but the mimosas really look like the most fun, after the milkshakes, of course. Appetizers are plentiful, but they could be a small meal, too, like avocado toast or soup. The salads are definitely meal sizes, so, if you get a salad and an entree, you must be super hungry or have leftovers to go - fun! For me, a salad and a milkshake are MORE than enough. Classic menu items like burgers, sandwiches and fries, but what's nice, is they have healthy options for entrees and sides, like fresh veggies, quinoa and fresh fruit. Brunch is awesome with pancakes, waffles, egg white omelettes and breakfast tacos. So many choices! This place is super popular, so expect to wait. This is nice though in terms of food freshness, because there are so many people, they have to keep getting in fresh food to keep up with demand. Parking isn't bad because it's free, and you can find a spot. They also do carry out, so, that's nice if you don't feel like waiting in line. Love the choices! We found ourselves here for a rare date night without kids, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The place is quaint & charming, with the old jukeboxes at every table & checkered floor really bringing home the old timey diner feel. But that is where the "old timey" feel ends, because the food is innovative and absolutely amazing! We enjoyed the two dishes described below from the photo, and ended our experience with the chocolate layer cake, served warm (you have to specify warm), and ice cream. This was the perfect sweet treat to end our evening. We must also tip our hats to David, our server. He made us feel welcome, gave great food recommendations (like getting that cake warmed!) and overall was a joy to chat with. If you find your way to Silver Diner, ask for David! This place is fantastic. I am happy to finally have found a good breakfast place. This is not the place for affordable breakfast. But it's totally worth it. All staff is very friendly and dressed very smart. Food is clean, with no grease. Ingredients are fantastic. I am definitely coming by to try out the dinner menu, before we leave town. This place was packed on a Sunday morning and there were folks waiting to sit, I asked the man how long was the wait and he said 3 minutes I said ok but was figuring there was no way this was happening and sure enough within 3 minutes we were seated. We ended up at the counter and was at the main action for the food prep and delivery area and after seeing this I was sure we would be there till the next day, again I was mistaken the food came out in about 10 minutes. The food was good and the efficiency of this place was amazing. Everything was great except the size of the booths they were to small and was the reason we moved to the counter. Driving through on a road trip. Decided to grab breakfast here. It was substantial enough to get me through to dinner that day. I ordered their special brunch menu Burrata Shakshuka. It was delicious with 2 eggs over easy and chockfull of chickpeas, embedded in a slightly spicy tomato base. Accompanied by naan and zaatar. It hit the spot. Was so warming and comforting. Along with coffee I ordered a watermelon, cucumber lemonade. Very refreshing. The place was charming diner decor and booths with jukebox on each table. Service was quick and efficient.
