I did not mix the curry into the bag and shake it up like you are supposed to. Instead I chose the dipping route. The curry was good, chicken was juicy / not overcooked, and the fries were crispy! The Korean noodle bowl and the Korean steak is awesome. We also had the avocado toast which was decent. The breakfast taco was delicious and can be made dairy free. It is absolutely delicious with all the flavors coming together. It has eggs with roasted onions and mushrooms and sweet potatoes. It has since left the menu. We wish they would bring it back. The pancake is very good and can be served with coconut milk,dairy-free whip cream in lieu of regular whipped cream if you need to have it dairy-free. We love the Moscow mule that is made by the manager, Michelle. Their Thai peanut noodle bowl was very good. You can add your own protein to the plate but it makes it a little pricey but healthy. The desserts are all really pretty good: vegan/dairy free cookies and cream, and the vegan squash pie is delicious. The flourless chocolate cake was also delicious, not too sweet. We like the new espresso Martini. They can also make you a dairy free affogato, which is a scoop of their dairy free coconut ice cream with a shot of espresso. If you like coffee, this is delicious. My recent visit to Silver Diner was marked by an unusual and disappointing experience. The waitress, nicknamed "Strawberry," exhibited a demeanor that was both weird and slightly rude, with an off-putting sense of humor that detracted from the dining experience. The manager, Mr. "Lee," was equally disappointing. His attempt at humor by making an inappropriate comment about the tattoo on my neck--coincidentally sharing a name with my fiancée--was not only corny but borderline insulting. Such behavior from a manager is unprofessional and unwelcome. Despite the service issues, the Mimosas were genuinely good, which, unfortunately, was the only highlight of an otherwise unpleasant visit. The lack of professionalism from both the waitress and the manager leaves much to be desired. I hope Silver Diner addresses these concerns to ensure a more respectful and enjoyable experience for future patrons. read more

We had a wonderful experience! Christine was extremely helpful. All of the staff are extremely personable. Christine told us about the new menu that will be coming out on the 18th of April. We tried one of the new menu items that was being unveiled, a Surf and Turf, and it was delicious. The tenderloin steak medallions were succulent and tender. The shrimp were delicious and the organic corn, mashed potatoes, and broccolini were tasty and delightful accompaniments. The Tasso ham and sausage from local farms added to the flavor of the Entree as well. We look forward to trying all the new items, especially since our friends are Vegan, and the items are devised to accommodate plant-friendly and Vegan individuals. My wife and I went to eat on July 10, 2022 at 8150 Porter Road, Falls Church. After eating about 1/4 of the salad, she noticed some dirty lettuce (looked bad). She informed the server. The manager apologized and offered her soup instead. About an hour after leaving the restaurant, my wife began suffering from nausea and vomiting. She lays sick in bed now. If she gets worse, we will go to the hospital. Our strong suspicion is food poisoning. I called the management and cautioned them to be careful with their salad so that others do not suffer the same fate. We cannot say for sure that the sickness is due to the food that she ate, though she ate nothing else. If others suffered the same fate on this day, that would help to confirm the cause. Our experience was delightful, as we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The Ancient Shrimp Grain Bowl was healthy and flavorful, featuring a generous quinoa. The Bay Benedict was also enjoyable, boasting ample crab meat and a rich hollandaise sauce enhanced by the perfect touch of Old Bay seasoning. The Apple Pie-Stuffed French Toast was an excellent sharable option, reminiscent of dessert, complete with vanilla cream, roasted apples sprinkled with cinnamon, and a drizzle of caramel sauce on top. Some foreign chef Ype constantly tries to undermine and destroy American cuisine by introducing oddball dishes crafted in his mind from foreign experiences. Why would I go to an all american DINER for foreign neuvo cuisine? I do not go to a Mexican restaurant for Chinese food either. The whole menu is an insult to American culture. I have always been pleased with this place. It has menu items to satisfy everyone from my liver & onion loving self to my vegan daughter. My wife always orders the salmon sliders- just be careful they don't upsell you on an extra slider if you only wanted 2. That's happened at least once (a 3rd slider was on plate, and we were charged an additional amount.) The fries are okay, and we like the sweet potato fries even better.The bruschetta appetizer is a winner- very tasty. And they have beer & wine! That's a bonus for diner style dining. I stopped in to have lunch yesterday. I will never go back to this location! The server was terrible and d literally had no personality! No smile , no hello. I had to tell him 3 times my drink order! We started with a bottle of their featured red wine that was half price. Quite good! For appetizers we had Cesar salad and a baked eggplant dish, both very tasty! Entrees were frutti del mar for my husband and the shrimp risotto special for me. They were awesome! The quality of the seafood stood out. Finished the evening with a perfect cappuccino! It smelled like Italy when you stepped in and it also used to have a small area that sold Italian small food goods. After new management, much is gone. That food goods corner is gone. Attention to detail and charm seem gone as well. We've been here a couple times in the past year to give it a few more tries but now that things have settle, it has not improved. The dishes are mostly the same from the prior owner but prices have gone up and the dishes seem smaller and do not taste as good. High 20's/30'a prices for pasta dishes - one expects quality and fine dining. Not to be. Please try again.

It's odd to pay the price of a salad with a full serving of protein, but then to be kept severely lacking. If you do come here, just steer clear of the Mango chicken salad. Great location, I appreciated how there's sufficient parking available. I wouldn't choose to come back

The way they cooked the egg was rather nice, especially with the cheese contributing to its overall creamy texture and there were ample amount of seafood in it. Calamari could have been better as some of them were overly deep fried and I was a bit disappointed that there were no tentacles in the entire basket. Great service by their staff but their ambience isn't much to be desired for. Wouldn't be a bad idea for them to renovate their dining room especially with their price point.
