Been here three times now. Twice has been for Father's Day and then most recently, Mother's Day. We chose it bc it has nice outdoor seating and we always bring dogs- so our choices are limited. They've improved their patio seating with comfortable cushions and large sunbrellas. The food has always been pretty good. The Bianca pizza was out of this world amazing the year prior but that seemed to have changed. It doesn't taste as good as it did before. Service is amazing- I can see they don't cut corners here. They even accommodated by making fettuccini Alfredo, which wasn't on the menu. I liked their salad but I'm going to stick to pasta- seems like that's their specialty and I love how homemade it tastes.

Terrible service. Been waiting for half an hour with no food, no service and staff were wandering around with nothing to do. They seemed helpless and bewildered. Then the head waiter went up to the table next to us and said they "lost the order" of the table. We are still waiting...

Love this italian place, perfect go to for some hearty food. The seafood was on point with the tomato sauce. Food took a little long to come out, it looked like they were a little understaffed? The lamb chop was so delicious and very tender. I enjoyed both dishes with lots of leftover. I definitely will be back!

I always eat here when I travel to the area. Great group of folks here. Good wine selection. The chef really knows what he's doing. Never had a bad dish.

This place has been around a while, but I've only visited recently. The restaurant is situated such that it looks empty from the street and I "eyeball" a restaurant's level of busyness before going there. From the street, it looks empty. Oh, how I was mistaken. It's a wine shop that serves Italian fare. Service is prompt and attentive. For the appetizer, I had mussels and calamari. The mussels come with either red or white sauce. I got the white sauce. They bring freshly baked bread with an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip which was very good. For the main course, we got seafood pasta with mussels, scallops, and shrimp. We also got sausage with pasta. I can't remember the Italian names, but both dishes were fantastic. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The sausage dish said it was spicy, but I didn't find it so. For dessert, we got cannoli and tiramisu. Both were fantastic. If you're looking for a nice local non-chain Italian restaurant, Sfizi is fantastic. Service is prompt, wait staff is attentive, they have a full bar and a nice selection of wine. Garage parking is available and is free.

A good solid 4 stars and a lovely Italian restaurant to have in the neighborhood. We've been here twice and overall liked what we had. We've tried their spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan, frutti di mare fradiavolo, antipasti for 2 and a pasta dish that was on their specials that came with a ragu and capers. Out of everything, I liked the chicken parmesan. It's a classic and it was done really well. I feel like every component was properly seasoned and taken care of versus a lot of places they just fry a piece of breast and slap it on some spaghetti. Even the sauce tasted like it had been simmering for awhile and was given some love. The frutti di mare was also delicious and highly recommended. Another classic dish that will guarantee to make you smile. I wasn't a huge fan of the antipasti for 2. I felt like it just wasn't worth the price and just wasn't really impressive. I would definitely ordered their grilled calamari next time. Also, we have tried both their grandmother cake (highly recommend) and their chocolate ganache cake, which was incredibly dry and disappointing. We asked if they made it there and they said they have it shipped in from a bakery from NY. That's fine, but maybe it had been sitting there for awhile? Overall really liked the food and the customer service. We will return for sure.

I've never seen a deli spot that matches the vibes (thick & delicious) of a NYC deli. This place reminded me of the famous Katz Deli in NYC. The bar seating was first come first serve. We actually met the owner Will!!! I feel like he provides more customer service than our waitress. Will is a dope guy and seems down to earth. As stated though, they were busy so I'm sure she was having a hard time keeping up. The salt & pepper were also okay. They were thicker cut, but didn't really stand out. A nice thin crispy shoe string fry could really slap with these sandwiches / subs. Pro tip: try their coleslaw!

Delivery: well packaged for a long trip to DC and it remained fresh and hot. Food: Sweet potato tater tots El Lomo Saltado Both of these selections were AMAZING! The sweet potato tater tots were genius! Perfectly prepared, packing flavor in each bite. The El Lomo Saltado was DIVINE! Allow me to break down the flavors: Biscuit: gosh this biscuit was buttery and soft. And yes, the juices from the steak did not make it soggy. But back to the biscuit...the top was flaky and the inside was soft! Soft and buttery. Egg: I asked for a well done fried egg (the main dish contains over easy) the egg was perfectly cooked and delicious. Steak: the steak pieces were generous and the seasoning on the meat...dangerous! There was a slice of provolone cheese melted on the egg and the sandwich also contained pieces of potatoes and tomatoes inside. All of the flavors in this biscuit meshed together so well, making this a reallllllllllllllly good sandwich. Now I'm sold! What other fun dishes can I try on their menu?!

The surprise star of the meal was the tater tots. They were genuinely divine: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and dangerously addictive. Every bite was satisfying. The food feels thoughtful and well-executed, the kind of place you keep thinking about after you leave. Definitely worth a visit, and I can't wait to come back and try more! This little store on Columbia Pike functions as a German specialty grocer, deli and sandwich counter. Our focus today was the sandwich counter. One important thing to know is there is no seating of any kind. You will be taking your sandwiches to go. (My suggestion: get a few slices of butter kaese at the deli counter and munch on these on the car ride home. Then enjoy your sandwiches in peace at your abode.) They do offer napkins and plastic silverware if needed. The sandwiches are freshly made to order. You take a number and a deli employee will assist you. They have numerous types of bratwurst to choose from. Additionally a number of German cold cuts. We ordered a Nurnberger bratwurst and the Tyrolean hot sandwich. The breads for both were very fresh and the sandwiches tasty. The mustard on the bratwurst was full of good horseradish! The Tyrolean was moist with a good combination of tender meat and sauce. The bread was a nice mild rye - it was a two hander sandwich! We were both full having eaten these delicious sandwiches. The deli employees were all friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable. We would definitely return.

Hi everyone, just wanted to leave a review of German Gourmet on Columbia Pike…read more Before I begin, I want to identify what the ingredients are for a classic Reuben. You'll need two slices of seeded or marble rye bread, about six ounces of thinly sliced corned beef or pastrami, two slices of sharp Swiss cheese, roughly a quarter cup of well-drained sauerkraut, and two tablespoons of Russian or Thousand Island dressing. A little butter for toasting the bread and optional spicy brown mustard round it out. That said, what I actually received was the absolute worst Reuben I've ever had in my entire life. They used ham instead of corned beef or pastrami, an insult to the name. The Swiss was bland and low-quality, not sharp at all. There was no mustard, barely any Thousand Island, and I couldn't even detect any sauerkraut. The bread wasn't toasted, and they still charged me $12.50 with tax. If this is what passes for a Reuben at a supposed German delicatessen, save your money and go somewhere that actually knows what they're doing.

The place still a bodega/grocery store, so get prepared to grab your order and go! It's pretty straightforward the counter service area, at the middle of the shop are prepared packaged Vietnamese goodies such as rice paper rolls, honeycomb cake slices, etc etc. You will find racks with different snacks, chips crackers and drinks. So far it looks clean, but definitely expect a busy bodega! The old ladies are so nice at giving me the warmest custard bun every time I pick my order (it's been 3 times already in the past months!) and it's still plushy and sweet and soft as always! This time I decided to add extra pate, extra chay ham (vegetarian ham) and extra veggies, the total ends up at 2.50, and still the sandwich will be less than $12 and bigger and fuller than most bahn mi shops around Falls Church! I would highly recommend spending extra $0.50 on either pate or mayo, it will make a huge difference! (since it's general reviews complaints, state that they lack on mayo!) and it still going to be more budget friendly than other places. Although I must say in our recent order, my husband's chicken bahn mi, the meat tasted stale like if it was cooked from a previous day (we added extra mayo, extra chicken and extra daikon to his order), unfortunately when we noticed that his bahn mi was not unedible we were already home, so we split mine and shared the custard bun and the tapioca slice! if you guys can help with that order I would really appreciate it!

Since we were back in the area for a DMV for a brief visit we knew exactly where we were stopping before heading to the airport. I had completely forgotten they have a Starbucks on-site with a limited menu. Of course, I couldn't leave without grabbing a cookie and a chocolate croissant for later. The food arrived fresh, hot, and exactly as expected. The staff is always friendly and personable. You see professionals, students and the locals coming in and out, but there is seating available. Conversations are at a minimum and despite the attached restaurant you can still hear yourself and the other person without yelling. One thing I appreciate about Best Buns is the consistency. Whether it's been months or years between visits, the quality never seems to change. The sandwiches are flavorful, the ingredients taste fresh, and nothing feels like it was sitting around waiting to be reheated. Everything is prepared to order, and you can taste the difference. My sandwich disappeared one bite at a time, and Hubs completely demolished his croissant sandwich without hesitation. That's usually all the confirmation I need. Some restaurants are good. Some are memorable, but there are the places that become part of your routine whenever you're back in town. Best Buns has earned that status for us. Five stars earned! Consistently fresh. Consistently delicious. We'll be dropping in on another turn and burn later this month...

Unfortunately, the bagel was a bit stale and hard to chew, which was disappointing. On the bright side, there was a good amount of smoked salmon. The onions weren't very pungent but added a nice crisp texture. I requested light cream cheese, but it wasn't spread evenly -- a lot of it was just stuck in the hole of the bagel. All in all, I wasn't particularly impressed with the quality of the bagel today.
