I wanted to give this restaurant a really good review, but unfortunately there were a few highs and several low points. The location was easy to get to with sufficient parking in a somewhat busy area. The inside of the restaurant looked very nice, especially the bar area - cozy and inviting. There was a nice selection of both booth and table seating. I was with a group so we were seated in a mostly private area at the rear of the restaurant. The wait staff was really fantastic, they always had a smile and they were very attentive and pleasant. Unfortunately the quality of my food was substantially below what I think are reasonable standards. I ordered the fish and chips - not a good choice on my part. What I received was clearly pre-breaded frozen fish portions. Not at all what I was expecting. The breading was very heavy with little fish inside. I've had fish and chips in many great locations around the world, including the United Kingdom, Iceland and the US, and this was a huge disappointment. Fish and chips is traditionally made from a thick piece of fresh cod lightly battered before frying. My fish could not have been any further from freshly batter fresh fish! The two pieces of fish that I received were the identical size and shape - clearly machine shaped - nothing like a true piece of fish. Sunday breakfast/brunch. Been here many times but not lately for breakfast. Honestly it was disappointing considering the $90 bill. Service was disappointing- took forever just to get coffee and wow, it was not good coffee in my opinion. The meals were good, not great. Love the eggs Idaho idea though. First time trying this restaurant and I enjoyed a lovely evening dinner with a friend on the outdoor patio. First impressions: it's a family owned restaurant and the owner is Greek, but they serve a lot of non-Greek sandwiches and menu items; I'd call this more of a general restaurant that has a few Greek options rather than a "Greek" restaurant. We ordered the halloumi plate and the regular gyro, and enjoyed both. We also ordered the one Greek desert (a set custard dish) with coffee, which was delicious. What was really outstanding was the service. Our waitress, Andrea, went above and beyond to take care of us, and did an excellent job of checking on us while not being intrusive. We felt very welcomed and did not feel rushed to leave after our meal was finished. We have been to Mylo's probably 15 times. The food is always good and service friedly and competent. But tonight we were put off by an odd charge. I ordered chicken kabobs for the first time. The dish came with no tzatziki sauce so I asked for some. The waitress brought a tiny container of it, barely enough for the purpose. Later, when the check arrived there was a charge of $1.95 for tzatziki sauce, which surprised me given every other Greek restaurant not only serves kabobs with that sauce but refills it freely. Also, I thought the hummus needed more garlic and lemon. So what might have been 5 stars is now barely 4 stars. In fact, tonight was 2 stars in my view. My wife and I were looking for a nice restaurant for a quiet dinner, with outside seating. We had heard about Mylo's Grill from a friend and decided to drive down and check it out. We were not disappointed! First, don't think that because it is in a shopping plaza, that it is low quality faster food. It is absolutely delightful. They have a great menu with lots of options, and we went with the calamari, lamb kabob, fries tossed with garlic and served with feta cheese (not on the menu (yet) so you have to ask for it), and a bottle of a French Bordeaux. We finished with Greek coffee and baklava. The food was amazing, and much to our delight, the service was just as wonderful as the meal. The young man who was our waiter did an amazing job, and there are few places where you can find such good service. If you want either a great meal out, or a romantic meal out, Mylo's should be at the top of your list. With COVID having such a financial impact on the hospitality industry, take the time to come out and support a great restaurant that was able to make it through the pandemic. read more

The chicken wings are swimming in buffalo sauce and kufteh was the best of the three . I ordered fish and chips . It was a nightmare . So hard like it was thawed from frozen . We also ordered steak and cheese and that was very tasteless. The salads were ok. The service was excellent May be because we were their only lunch customers at 3 pm . The fact that Mylo's Grill gets 4 stars speaks to the extreme paucity of good family restaurants in McLean. This place is the very definition of average. 3 stars is generous. It's better than McLean Family Restaurant, but that's not saying much. Service is fine, but the restaurant is otherwise a dark room that serves bland diner and bar food. Burgers and sandwiches, greek salads, kabobs that can't compete with Amoo's across the street, frozen onion rings and limp fries, bland side vegetables... you know the drill. When I posted this 2-star review, one of the owners got angry, commented and sent me three private messages accusing me of having some vendetta against him, so I've edited it and expanded my explanation to try to be more fair (I had made one wrong assumption based on something I saw somebody else order, which was lazy, and I've corrected that). I'm not trying to kill their family business. Heck, I grew up in the restaurant business, have worked in several others, and have great sympathy for anybody undertaking such a livelihood. I also live around the corner and want our neighborhood businesses to thrive. For what it's worth, apparently they ARE thriving, as one of the messages was a Trump-like "No improvement needed, we broke a daily sales record tonight." However, I'm also a Yelp contributor who wants to help others distinguish good from great. I give 4- and 5-star reviews to memorable restaurants that are great at what they do, or unique in some way, or worthy of a destination trip. Mylo's Grill does not qualify. Would I meet somebody there for lunch because it's in my neighborhood and has waiter service? Sure. Would I recommend it as a destination for Yelp members, or as even as better than average for McLean? No way. Just look at the photos and you'll know exactly what you're in for. We went in for Friday's Prime Rib Night and I was very pleased. They cook the prime rib to rare and then heat it to more done as desired. They will not go above medium (who wants to ruin fine meat). Excellent. Huge, thick piece cooked as requested (medium rare), Flavorful and tender. Good baked potato and vegetables. Very pleasant outdoor seating. And great service. Where else could you have dolmades, stuffed grape leaves stuffed with beef & rice, seasoned with Greek herbs and spices, for an appetizer (and they are really good) and then have a steak and cheese sub for the main course. I just had the Souvlaki Sandwich and I wanted to lick my fingers when I was finished. DESSERT!!!! Yes, dessert was out of this world. Even if you don't eat anything else, go for their Galatopureko (had to write it down, don't ask me to pronounce it). Go ahead and cut and paste the name of the dessert into a note in your phone. Or you can ask for the Greek Dessert everybody is telling you to get. It is a Greek custard pie made with phyllo dough and homemade vanilla custard, and I am over-simplifying. The best way to describe it, An orgy of sweet flavors melting in your mouth. If in the McLean are in VA, you must go and visit Mylo's. Funny, I saw a couple of high recognition Washingtonians having brunch at Mylos.
