Unfortunately, this location of Toastique does not offer decaf - they only have a single hopper for their coffee, so it is not an offering. We were going to find another place, however, they said how about a hot chocolate or a tea. My friend is vegan and inquired if their hot cocoa was vegan, as most places have dairy in the chocolate. The cashier went to look at the chocolate syrup and also had another person look at it to verify it's vegan. My friend ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk. Even though it was busy, we only waited about 5 minutes for her drink. We appreciated the effort to double check it was vegan, though I do wish they had decaf options.

I had a wonderful experience at Silver Diner thanks to DeLonte B, who was our server. He was friendly, attentive, and professional. He greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. He took our orders promptly and checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. He also gave us some great recommendations on what to order. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. DeLonte B made sure we were satisfied with our meals and brought us the check when we were ready. He thanked us for coming and wished us a good day. He was one of the best servers I have ever had and I would definitely come back to Silver Diner because of him. During our visit to Washington DC to support our son who was running the JFK 50 we enjoyed delicious food and made a life long friend, our server, at the Silver Diner. Demetrious , our server treated us like family. When we met we were strangers from Illinois looking for a place to eat. Every day of our stay in Washington started with a delicious, breakfast served with fast courteous service. The Eggs Benedict, California Omelet and Avocado Toast were excellent . First, let me say, the service was good. Our waiter did all he could to make our meal enjoyable. He was very busy, as a manager was interviewing people a couple of tables down, but he was very pleasant. The food sucked. I had a "brunch all day" omelette. While the omelette was just okay, the biscuit and potatoes tasted like they had been in the warming tray since 8 am. The biscuit was so tough it was inedible and the potatoes has all the crispiness of over cooked spaghetti. My wife had a BLT. Pretty basic diner fair, wouldn't you say? The bread was so stale that it was hard to chew. Not over toasted, stale... Her sides were just mediocre. For the prices you're gonna pay here, it should be good food. It is not. read more

OK here's my situation never order Silver diner late at night after 8 o'clock. The food is horrible. It's best that you ordered from Silver diner during the daytime and at lunch. I ordered my usual turkey platter at around 8:00 PM and it was the worst thing I have ever tasted. Small quantity the vegetables I don't know what they were. The mashed potatoes were old and brown looking and then I ordered the roast potatoes which was ice cold and the sausage was hard as a rock so I know that was leftover stuff from the morning I will still order from Silver diner. I love the turkey platter, but I would never ever order late at night. I wish there was someway that I can get my money back for that. read more

Nice servers. Really poor service and very poor food. Better in person than delivery, but thats only because they will make a mistake with literally every dish and if you're in person you can fix their mistakes - with a lot of time and patience. Delivery is a nightmare. It's like they employ illiterates to review their orders and they just guess what the ticket says. I honestly can't believe anyone with eye sight or reading skills could make THIS many mistakes so constantly. I had the worst experience at this diner when I was in town. The food was good, but the service was horrible. The wait staff was very rude, disrespectful, and ignorant, especially Tiff, the server. The server, Tiff, had an attitude the entire time we were there and even cursed at us. When we brought it to the manager's attention, it seemed like the manager was scared of the server. The real frustration came with the check. Between the added service fee/surcharge and the prompt for standard tipping on top of that, the final bill felt disproportionately high for casual neighborhood dining. Hidden fees stacking up on top of regular menu prices takes away from what would have otherwise been an easy 4- or 5-star meal. Great kitchen output, but management really needs to rethink the fee creep.
