I hate leaving 3 star reviews and only do so when we feel like we did not have a good experience. So this place used to be on Madison and Sunrise and like a lot of business had to move due to landlord or some type of issue. We were excited to visit them in their new location and I understand this is a very expensive thing to do. But here is the skinny. When someone like me orders take out, we are very clear of what we want. Usually tired and on the way home like so many people the ony thing we expect is to get what we pay for. You forgot the wonton/eggroll. May not sound like a big deal but for the person looking forward to this one particular thing, it's sort of a big deal because driving all the way back for such a small item is not worth the effort or the gas. Going back a month later trying to remember that I got short changed of an eggroll. Not gunna happen. Next.... why not just charge a little for the to-go container for soup instead of omitting it. Basically, you don't get soup to go unless you eat it their in the restaurant. Seriously. This is lame. Charge $.50 cents or whatever and give us the soup. Last, the food was bland. I "never" had to add salt to Chinese food. But this time out came the salt and a little pepper. I do see others have left great reviews, but just not for me right now. I'll try again in a year or so. read more

My friend talks about this place with such fondness and the fact that she can no longer come here since moving away. I told her I would try it. We came on a Friday. Lots of people waiting which is a good sign when trying somewhere new. Luckily 2 people got right in. 7 people had to wait. Yay us! The menu is like any other chinese menu but the food definitely stood out. So good! Glad we came. You probably can't go wrong on what you order. The staff were very friendly. read more

We went to the silver dragon yesterday for dinner and the service was good but the server could not speak English and had to get another person to come over to help interpret what we were asking ? We found three hairs in our food. How awful and disgusting! I'd be very careful because they're not very sanitary. read more

After all these years, I'm glad Silver Dragon is still around the neighborhood. Consistent & authentic & delicious. It is one of the last remaining icon of a "mom n pop" chinese cafe in the area. To me they make the best Mushu Pork ("chinese burritos") around. If you order to go, you might want to use Trader Joe's tortillas to "wrap" your Mushu Pork instead the thin Asian wrap. THE BEST Chinese restaurant is FINALLY open again!! Why is it the best? Szechaun-Hunan Cuisine TASTE!! The restaurant is in its newly renovated, spacious beautiful, easy to locate on the corner of Fair Oaks/Madison intersection with ample parking and not quite completely decorated (..."customers were saying, never mind putting up pictures and decorations, just feed us your tasty food that we have missed for almost 2 years!!") but the same delicious entrees, simple menu, price points (29 lunch specials: only $9.75-$10.75 include soup of the day, steamed or pork fried rice or pork chow mien, egg roll and fried won ton) and swift delivery of your meals (either take out or dine in) are the hallmarks of Silver Dragon!...there is soon to be liquor service too-there was a posting that it is in the works and the welcoming bar area surely will be packed soon!-I can imagine drinks with the PuPu tray appetizer.... Silver Dragon staff are still working out the staffing and high demand for dine in seating challenges (I saw people take seating even though the tables were not cleared from the previous customers because they just wanted to eat the delicious food!!) but your patience will be well rewarded once you savor their food!! I arrived yesterday to get a plate to go. Establishment was sparkling clean. Customers were dining it you can tell we're enjoying the food and venue. I ordered the lunch special general chicken with broccoli and chow mein. I usually have to drive midtown or south Sacramento for decent Chinese food. However I think I found a gem here! Food was ready fairly fast and the food was great I have no complaints! I will be back more often read more

I am so happy that Silver Dragon is finally open once again. Their staff and food have been missed. It will take awhile to work out the kinks of the new restaurant and the transition to an electronic point of sales system. Opening day was crazy busy, and they were hit with a wave of customers wanting to welcome them back and enjoy their food once again. Unlike many restaurants that may have one or two good dishes, Silver Dragon has many excellent dishes. Opening on New Years Day was a great way to kick off 2022! read more

Always great food. Doesn't make me feel super gross and full after eating too which I think means they don't over salt stuff but that's just my guess. I ordered mu shu vegetables and it was one of the best I had. Vegetable fried rice was also good. I was very disappointed with the twice cooked pork, I never thought that it would be BBG pork Chinese style ( reddish) and not the belly kind was my first time to had one like it. Fist time there was amazing. I will happily be driving from Rancho to get this take out. Even after the car ride the food was still hot and fresh and the crispy food was still crispy. Fricken amazing spot. The only place that beats this, IMO, is Hop Sing in Folsom, but it's a close. I can't wait to try this place as a sit down. The restaurant was very clean and all the staff I interacted with were professional and courteous. My bill was slightly over $50 for beef chow mein, two entrees and an app. It lasted for three days. Portion size is perfect and quality is amazing. Seriously hard for me not to gush about this place....freakin amazing read more

Ugh so disappointed. I had been a regular for over 24 years and was sad when they went out of business. I got a notification on yelp that they opened their new location. I am so sick with food poisoning. I took 2 doses of pepto bismol and still feel nauseated. I have no choice but to call in sick today. I would be scared to go back. I just hope I get better quick. I used to love Silver dragon as a kid, so seeing it reopen at this new location had me so excited. I went the other day and got some chow mein and pot stickers, and I was in heaven. I've been searching for a good Chinese place since we moved back to the area, and this one is the best! The noodles are super thick and cooked in this delicious sauce.
