TL;DR - It's a buffet. Solid food choices at a decent price. Okay service Food - 4/5 Service - 3.5/5 Price - 4/5 We went when it was a typically busy and had a little bit of a wait. When we were seated, we were brought back to a room that was kinda off to the side. That was both a bit nice since it was away from others but also kinda eh since it seemed like we were kinda forgotten. The food choices were pretty solid, and everything seemed to be replaced pretty quickly when it was getting low. The biggest criticism I had was that our waters and plates weren't cleared as fast as we needed. On the other hand, it was nice not to feel rushed to try and finish our food and leave.

One of the best Buffets in Sacramento, I love the Mongolian station you can create whatever you want I love the thin noodles with jalapeños and the Hawaiian steak is so good. Food so good: Hawaiian steak Honey walnut shrimp Spring rolls Bread Broccoli & beef Food I don't really care for: Steak (don't seem seasoned) Blue crab (hard to get the meat out) Sushi (I just don't like any sushi) Orange chicken This place is a must try, the only thing I will say about this place that you have to watch is the customer service, they gave us the bill and fortune cookies and we only had been there a hour it was like they were rushing us to leave that's what made me not leave a tip

Hibachi. I was so impressed with how quickly and accurately the cook cracked the egg and tossed the eggshell in the trash with one hand.

Hibachi Buffet is a good deal for AYCE lunch at $16.99. I enjoyed the Kung Pao Chicken, Stir Fried Shrimp (no shell), Lotus Wrapped Sticky Rice, Fried Fish, Tako octopus sashimi, and Seared Tuna or Sea Steak sashimi. For dessert, I liked the Sesame Ball, Mango Jello, and fruit (canned apricots, fresh pineapple). Several Chinese soup choices, like Hot and Sour, Shrimp Egg Drop, and Wonton. Stir fried noodles station where you can choose your ingredients. Salads and cold dishes. Cakes and desserts. Fried foods. Seafood, like shrimp, mussels, clams, small seafood meatball claws. Birthday person gets a free slice of cake. For groups 5 or less, the birthday person gets a discounted rate ($5 or $10 off?). For groups 6+, the birthday person gets a free meal. Check out Hibachi Buffet's website to see photos and prices, including to Party Tray, prices per lb, and individual servings.

Being from the Bay Area, $16.99 for AYCE weekday lunch is such a steal! It's even better that they have lots of variety to choose from and are all constantly coming out fresh. You pay at the front before they usher you to your table. Since it was a weekday, it was not too crowded so they didn't seem to be super strict about the 90 min dine-in policy which I appreciate! Staff was consistently coming around to clear the plates and food stations. I enjoyed the create your own Mongolian bbq with topping and add ons of your choice Parking was pretty easy in their big lot. Overall, loved the variety and value!

Dessert, I'd recommend the strawberries, cream puff, orange sherbet and popcorn!

All-you-can-eat buffet!! I've heard so many great things about this place! Hubby treated us Thursday evening! Great prices, decent food and staff here! They have a lot of rooms for big groups too! Would return to try more! 4/5 star experience! SYOY! :-)

Have not been to a Chinese buffet in a while cause I've been trying to diet and be healthier. However the temptation of sushi/sashimi and Mongolian bbq was too much to resist. The quality of the food was good considering how busy it was! I beelined for the Mongolian bbq area and probably had to wait 5-10 minutes for it to cooked. I loved that they had the LA galbi ribs for meat options! It was good! Also had the chicken which was juicy. The sushi rolls were good! I didnt know what kind of roll I was eating but it tasted fresh. Later on I got to try their fresh sashimi slices of tuna and salmon which were very good! I came Sunday afternoon and it was super busy but we got seated right away! I was seated in the room to the right and it was kind of warm in that area. Most likely because of how many people were there!

We've been coming here a few times and the food is always good. The noise seems to have gotten louder and more busier than normal. The waiter is fast to picking up plates and refilling drinks. And cooks are quick to refill empty trays of food. No rush there is plenty food for everyone!

I needed to find a place to take my crew to dinner after a long day of field work. I've found finding a place that will please 5 different people including me, Chinese buffets work out well. Everybody gets to find something that they'll like, from Chinese American food, to sushi and even ribs and French fries and pizza. Yeah, for some reason every Chinese buffet has pizza! This Hibachi Buffet is located on Sunrise about halfway between the 50 and the 80. If you're coming from the north just turn into the parking lot. But if you're coming from the south, there's no easy way to turn into the lot, so you gotta make a U-Turn at Kingswood Drive and go back to the lot. This Hibachi Buffet is huge, there a big lot and a ton of people. The inside seems super busy, but not too dirty or anything. Service is typical Chinese buffet, efficient but not there to make any friends. The food is quite the spread. The sushi section had a ton of stuff, and not just rolls, but different nigiri pieces as well. The Chinese food was typical buffet stuff, chow mien, egg rolls, some veggies and some really good wings. The quality was a little better than a lot of buffets. The food is refreshed fast so there's not empty trays. The price for dinners was around $25, plus some tax and a little tip figure about $30 per person. As long as my crew is happy, I'm happy. I would have given 5 stars if that offered roast duck, but no duck today.

Sushi spread. The sashimi was continuously empty.

Let me start by saying the 1 star is not for the food or the staff -- just hygiene. The staff are kind. The food was okay -- 2.5 stars at best. Nothing special but typical for an Asian buffet. They didn't have king crab legs if that's your thing and there are no steamed crabs, only stir fried. My favorite items were the stir fried crab & corn. To get seated you have to pay for your party first and then they'll seat you. Nothing special about the decor. Just a bunch of tables to maximize the space, typical of an Asian buffet. Now why the 1 star? Well when my husband got ice cream from the freezer & opened the lid, there was a bug stuck at the corner of the ice cream. Photo provided for your entertainment. We could've moved on from this as an isolated case but we also witnessed staff cleaning dirty tables with a rag that was already obviously soiled AND THEN after wiping the tables, food scraps, and chairs, wiped the SOY SAUCE BOTTLE & the part where all your soy sauce comes out from. We were floored. Only come if you have a strong stomach. Some people think it builds immunity! Maybe? Me personally? It's a no. Would not recommend.

A diverse selection of well prepared dishes, offering a variety of flavors to stimulate the palate. Offering a broad selection of chicken, fish and vegetable options, Hibachi Buffet is the go-to choice for our family. In particular, I personally enjoy the broad selection of Sushi and shockingly Sashimi offerings. The food is always fresh and beautifully presented. The staff are like quiet ninja's quietly clearing plates and ensuring that our water glasses are always full. Like most buffets the restaurant is quite large, with a lot of seating. We tend to go at opening, before the restaurant is completely full. I touch of tranquility before the storm. Conveniently located, the Hibachi Buffet is a quality option for buffet connoisseurs

Found this gem. One of the best assortments of food from a buffet . $24 a person on weekends . Seated right away . Very busy place which unfortunately with the tile flooring and cement bare walls it gets extremely loud. If you are there to just eat which makes sense since it's a buffet then mission accomplished but you can't have a conversion . Great assortment of food but not all the food was great. Fries were soggy, fried rice was dry and fried chicken had no taste examples of this . Overall worth the price for the many other dishes that were good.

    My favorite, blue crab!

Wow this buffet was a nice surprise on our way back to the Bay Area. We went on a Sunday and it was busy! 15 min wait for a party of 2, so not bad at all. You pay upon arrival and they give you a buzzer, so you can wait in your car if you'd like. We wanted something that had plenty of options, this buffet has something for everyone, plenty of choices and they kept refilling the trays. The prices are great too! Service was fast and friendly. The place is big inside, they have private rooms for private events. I particularly enjoyed the blue crab, green beans (so crunchy!), and the walnut shrimp. Fried rice was the perfect texture. They have plenty of sushi choices and a noodle station. For dessert I loved the strawberry (?) mousse. They also have ice creams. You can also take food to go (they charge per pound). Plenty of parking available and great for big parties!

Ask the Community - Hibachi Buffet

On WEEKDAYS, when does dinner serve?

When does dinner start on weekdays?

It starts at 11am and the price is the same all day

    Do they take reservations?

    No, first come first serve.

Is there a specific time they serve the crab?

All day on the weekends. We came Saturday for lunch and there's 🦀

    Is it only seafood?

No, not just seafoods. Lots of other choices, such as stir fries, sushi, American (pizza, fries, ribs), soups, pot stickers, salad, etc. Also Habachi in which you choose what you want to be cooked in front of you (i.e. meats and vegetables).

Is everything fried in the same oil? One of our party has a strong allergy to shrimp and he'd have a reaction if he ate fries cooked in the oil they use to cook shrimp.

I wouldn't trust it...lots of fried food. Many of it soggy.

Do they serve raw oysters nightly?

No they do not. Perhaps during a special holiday. I'd call and find out when if they do.

    Do they serve alcoholic beverages?

They do sell alcohol. When you enter they have a fridge on the side for purchase, for each additional alcohol beverage you have to purchase at the front desk

    Is sushi served for lunch?

    Yes it is.

What are the lunch prices? They seemed to have changed the price?

Lunch Mon-Fri $14.99 Weekends $22.99 all day As of 10/20/24

    How much is dinner buffet?

    $21.99 for dinner

What time do they start charging dinner price?

When we were there we looked all around and none of the signs indicated the time the price would change. Only the hours of operation were posted

We're planning to come on a weekday for lunch. What are some items we don't get for lunch compared to dinner? For example, is there sashimi during lunch? Thanks!

I haven't found any huge difference so far. I have been four times Friday lunch, Sat Dinner, Monday dinner, and a Wednesday lunch.…

I have seen some people do takeout, anyone know how much takeout costs? Thanks

It depends on what you are getting. They weigh the take-out by pound. It ranges from $7.99 - $9.99 per pound.

Does buffet have& wine, or sake?

Yes, but not included in buffet price.

How much for lunch vs dinner? Last person posted like 5 months ago

    Lunch M-F $14.99 Dinner 20.99 All day dinner Sat-Sun $21.99

How many people does the private room seat?

I am not sure, but I think around 100 or so, because they have 2 party rooms actually.

Do they take reservations for a large group?

Yes, they also have a room for private groups

Do they have non seafood options? My BF doesn't eat seafood

Yess they do have other kinds of meat like pork chicken beef and some meat-free options too

    When does lunch end?

One person said 3pm and another said 3:30.

It was just easier having an idea of what to pick based on looking at the pictures. There were all kinds of sushi rolls, bento boxes, noodles, appetizers and plates. We decided to get the ramen, salmon katsu, and tempura bowl. Food came our really quick. Portions were good and everything we tasted wonderful. It definitely satisfied our craving. The tempura was crispy. The ramen broth was rich and noodles nice and chewy. The bento box came with gyoza, salad, tempura, oranges, miso soup and rice. Service was great. This is exactly what I had experienced when I paid a visit to "Akira Sushi" Located directly on Greenback Lane and adjacent to Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights, this place opened its doors for business back in mid-2024. Since then, they have seen a very respectable amount of positive reviews. As I had previously mentioned, the exterior isn't much to look at as this is a fairly dated strip mall that hasn't received any updates in decades. And to those that remember, this is the same building that "Pho 54" occupied from 2013-2023. During my visit which was the afternoon of Sunday 8/3/2025 at around 5:15pm, I parked directly outside as there were no other cars here. Upon entry, there was one other customer finishing dinner. After being greeted and seated, I was given a menu complete with a cold glass of iced water. I will say that the interior of this place is quite impressive, cozy, and inviting. The distressed wooden tables paired up with the tan-colored walls and unique murals add an upscale look to the overall interior. On a packed evening, this place can comfortably seat around 50 guests. I will say that their menu is fully loaded with pure deliciousness. They offer a huge variety of traditional sushi rolls, custom rolls, Bento boxes, seafood tacos (available in tuna or salmon), Poke bowls, and even ramen for the colder days/evenings. And even a nice variety of beverages including soda, beer, wine, and sake. Since I was dining solo, I decided on the "Sunomomo Salad" which was a cucumber salad w/Ponzu sauce and Bonito flakes. My main dish was their "Napa Valley" roll which uses shrimp tempura, cucumbers, avocado, spicy aioli, unagi sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. My salad was brought out in less than 3 minutes while my sushi arrived just a few minutes later. I will say that everything was very fresh and delicious. The avocado had perfect consistency while the shrimp was made to perfection. In my humble opinion, this was an absolute gem of a roll. All in all, "Akira Sushi" is about as good as it gets for quality sushi in Citrus Heights. They have very respectable hours of operation being open 6 days a week; Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30am-2:30pm / 4:00-8:30pm with extended hours on Fri/Sat while being closed for business on Monday. Service was great as the young lady that waited on me was polite, courteous, and respectful. With a great atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices, I am giving Akira Sushi a unanimous five-star rating.
