    Orange chicken
    Donna V.

Bad quality food, rude customer service. The prices on the website reflect differently than what you will get charged on the phone. When doing an order the website also says that they do free delivery within 3 miles which is sadly not true. I live within 1 mile of this place, but will never come here again after tonight. I feel I was discriminated against after mentioning the discrepancy in pricing. i've ordered from here before and got smaller portions tonigh than previously. The quality of the food was subpar and disappointing as well. Egg rolls were burnt and greasy, Mongolian beef was completely full of onions; much more than usual, as this is an item that I've been ordering for years from various Chinese places. I paid for the upgrade to wonton ($2 more per person) and received a one person portion for a family meal The orange or lemon chicken whatever came with the family. Dinner was completely soggy were all pieces were stuck together. There was no crispiness at all. When I called to mention the problems with my order I I wasn't met with kindness. another place with better customer service would've at least offered a remake of the items that were disappointing. it sucks that I have a restaurant within five minutes of my house, but then I'll have to make a 10 to 15 minute drive just to avoid this place in the future.

Where's the filling $1+ a piece for this

My first impression was they skipped on filling, my second impression was they also must have changed cooks. No longer my favorite. I ordered an order of crab ragoons, honey walnut shrimp, and a lunch combo with general chicken. My crab ragoons were cold, very greasy as if they had been sitting around as well as had little to no filling and they were just over $1 a piece. So disappointed as I had really been craving them. Honey walnut shrimp is also a favorite of mine, but there was very little sauce and it tasted heavily of mayo barely any of the condensed milk in the mix which is traditional, also the breading was more of a light cornstarch instead of breading and tasted heavily of cornstarch. Small serving too. My combo did not come with the mentioned appetizer of the day. I ordered the general chicken and the chicken was very poor quality and flavor profile was off from normal. Definitely makes me sad as I would have spent less money for more food of better quality and flavor preparing myself at home. It was such a. Huge let down I don't think I'll be coming back.

I called in for an Orange Chicken Combination Plate. The clerk was nice and seemed to be in a good mood. On arrival, the restaurant was empty (5pm on a Sunday) which was great for me, the price was straight from 2007 ($10.75 post-tax), and the food was good for what I paid. Family style C dinner served at home from to-go boxes.
    Dana H.

We ordered the family style dinner C for 2 to go. It included War Wonton soup, Egg rolls, Fried wonton, Fried prawn, Shrimp with snow peas, Happy Family (Shrimp, Scallop, Beef, Chicken, BBQ Pork) and instead of the house special fried rice, we asked to substitute it for vegetable chow mein which they happily accommodated without extra charge. The food was still hot when we got home. It was a lot of food for 2 of us with enough leftovers for another dinner the next night. The food was tasty although slightly more done than I prefer. I like my vegetables slightly crunchy. Highly recommend the family style dinner C for 2 as it was delicious. We will be back again to try some other dishes.

Our server greeted us right away and was very sweet and attentive. You could tell she was still in training, but everything went smoothly. The only small thing I would suggest is having more napkins at the table, since we were only given one per plate and ended up needing a few more during the meal. We had originally reserved a tatami table, but quickly realized it wasn't the best fit for our group since we had some older people with knee pain. Just a heads up, the tatami seating does not have recessed flooring. Luckily, we were able to adjust to a regular table. Once we were settled, we looked through the menu and ordered a double toro roll, a wagyu roll, and a dinner bento with unagi-don. Happy to report everything we ordered was delicious! The double toro was very fresh and refreshing, and the wagyu roll had a rich, savory flavor that reminded us of a yummy steak. We enjoyed every bite. I was especially impressed with my bento box. The presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. The bento came with steamed egg, a fresh garden salad, assorted tempura, and unagi-don. Everything in the box tasted great. The tempura was light and crispy, and the unagi was savory and satisfying with egg ribbons in the rice. I think it might be one of the best bento boxes I've had in a long time. Overall, we had a great experience at Azayaka Japanese Fusion. The food was delicious, the service was warm, and we would definitely come back to try more dishes.

First, I want to say the chef was younger, but he put alot of care and effort into each dish, so he should definitely be acknowledged. However, as soon as we walked in, there was no greeting from both of the female servers, only cold stares. Many servers do not give great service to younger tables and assume they won't tip. This occurred throughout our dining experience and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Our table also wasn't the biggest and there was no pre-bussing done to clear our dining space. Also, as a recent graduate, I brought my cap to receive a $15 gift card for their promotion. Instead, she gave a "neighborhood" discount (10% off which made it $10 off). I didn't mention anything since I did not feel like coming back to this location. Then I looked at the receipt, wrote a 20% tip, but this was where I felt scammed. It's difficult to explain and I wish I took a picture, but please check your math on the suggested tip. Total with discount: $98 Previous Total: $108 Suggested Tip: 20% = $20 and Suggested Total: $128 I don't mind tipping $20, but the suggested total would include a $30 tip? I don't know if it's intentional and the server wanted to pocket the discount as her tip, but it did not feel fair. We had two younger kids with us and I didn't want them to notice, so we just left after paying. We been to the Sacramento location many times, but their Roseville location was disappointing. Horrible service.

It is a substantial meal consisting of perfectly grilled steak, vegetables, rice, savory sauce and a fried egg. The steak was amazing, very flavorful, tender, high quality meat. The vegetables - tomatoes, peppers, onions and (perhaps an abundance of) French fries were cooked just right. The sauce was very flavorful. The rice was a good foil to that. The egg probably makes it authentic but was not the stand out. I would order this again in a second. I took half of it home. My wife had the pork belly appetizer and plantain side. She raved about it, especially the plantains. The sauce with the plantains was perfect. The sauce with the pork belly was quite spicy and she replaced it with another sauce that they had. She again would re-order this. Service was great - educational and polite. It was efficient, though the restaurant was a lull period so can't comment on busy times. The space was inviting. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They have a wine and beer bar, but not a full liquor license. We found this a delight and it will be one of our go to restaurants in mid town Sacramento.

We ordered the cheesesteak rolls to start, and I had to try the popular Bubble Bliss drink. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the rolls were, as we weren't quite sure what to expect from a cheesesteak roll. When our entrées arrived, every single one of us enjoyed what we ordered, so we decided to share with one another. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. At the end of our meal, I was offered a complimentary birthday dessert, which was a thoughtful touch and a great way to end the evening. Overall, this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We had the fried calamari appetizer and it was delicious, not greasy at all and had fried green beans and onions mixed in. Wife loved her grilled salmon entree. We both enjoyed our cocktails as well. Service was fairly good overall, although it took a long time before our server came to take our order and service was just all around slow. Very friendly though. Cons: My entree was not good. Ordered the pappardelle with short rib ragu. This was NOT a ragu as it is commonly known, it was more of a cream sauce with some meat in it. The pasta was swimming in cream. And I hate cream sauce. I never would have ordered it had the menu description said it was a cream sauce. The server offered to make me another entree but I did not want to wait another 30 minutes so I choked down what I had. Value is not good. The burger is $20, for example. Prices are a bit too high for the experience you are getting. Verdict: We may be back, as 2/3 of the food was quite good, they just failed on my pasta dish. But it's pricey, so who knows. Moderate recommendation.

The lobster bites came with a lemon wedge and their house Thousand Island sauce, and that sauce was incredible. The combination of the crispy lobster, lemon, and sauce worked perfectly together. The broccolini was also seasoned really well and paired nicely with the grilled lemon. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the smoothest I've had. One detail I loved was that they stamped the restaurant's logo into the ice cube. Small touch, but really cool. For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Huli Huli Chicken with a crispy rice cake, pineapple, greens, and a house sauce that completely made the dish. The sweet and tangy flavor paired perfectly with the chicken. Me and my girlfriend also shared the mac and cheese, and honestly, this was one of the best mac and cheeses I've had. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. They stopped by tables to see how everyone was enjoying their food, which was a really nice touch. I even had the chance to take a picture with Chef Q before we left, which was super cool. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail, this is easily one of the top restaurants I've been to in Sacramento. Definitely worth a visit.
