I'd seen dozens of very good reviews on Facebook lately so my wife and I decided to try it out. We were the only people in the restaurant so initially I was a little concerned. They were doing lots of takeout and DoorDash orders so that was a good sign. I ordered the sesame chicken with fried rice and my wife ordered the honey walnut shrimp with chow mein. We sampled each others food and I have to say that both dishes were very good. The prices aren't cheap, but they're pretty much inline with comparable Chinese restaurants. The serving size is just about right for a meal without taking leftovers home. The server only stopped by with the check, but never offered to refill our drinks. It's close to home so I'm sure we'll stop by again. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! Wow! If you have never ordered from here, you should. We didn't stop in so I'm not sure how it looks inside. We ordered take out on door dash, and what a wonderful meal it was! Big portions too! We ordered sesame chicken with fried rice, Mongolian beef with chow mein, cream cheese wontons and it came with two egg rolls. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The sesame chicken was not too sweet and had an overall great flavor. The fried rice wasn't hard at all or mushy, perfect texture. The chow mein wasn't greasy, with bouncy noodles and good flavor. The Mongolian beef, my hubs said was the best he's ever had. It had a nice char flavor to the beef and wasn't chewy. The mixed veggies with it were sauced nicely without going overboard. The cheese wontons, we had to reheat in the air fryer for a couple minutes but they were very good and came with a sweet n sour sauce that was delicious! The egg rolls were great too! Came by to get a little dinner and try a new place to the wife and I. The restaurant is very clean and neat. The chow mein is very tasty, I had lemon chicken. It was cooked to perfection. Very tasty. I was happy finally finding a restaurant that had an up-to-date online order system that actually worked. Items and prices were clearly marked, but when I went to checkout and pay I was dumbfounded by the additional tip 15% plus and employee service fee $1for food that I was picking up. That alone was going to add $10 to my bill! So I walked in and ordered food and guess what? No requirement for a tip. Anyway, I ordered orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, bbq pork chow mein and fried rice. Each item was very flavorful and the orange chicken was not soggy. And, my order was ready in 10 minutes! Even though I have no problem tipping restaurant workers when I dine in, but when I am picking up and paying the employee service fee the tipping culture is way out of hand. Food was really tasty. BBQ pork chow mein was filling and full of tangy tender pork. The potstickers were a nice crunchy chewy texture. The orange chicken had a nice citrus twang and crunch. Really nice to find a local great Chinese place that is delicious as well as reasonably priced. read more

Very clean and distinct dish flavors. Wei Wei is a true cuisine restaurant. There is a difference between clean Chines food and dirty Chinese, food where everything is greasy and each dish tastes like beef and broccoli brown sauce. I usually call and place an order to go. The service is always sweet when I step inside, and over the phone. My go to order for my family is: -Pot stickers- nice big size and flavorful filling. The noodle/dough is a bit thick, but they don't skimp on the filling so it's worth ordering. -Combination fried rice which has big pieces of chicken, prawns, and bbq pork and good portion of egg and green onion. -Mongolian Beef extra spicy, or -Kung Pao Chicken. Both have great flavors when you want to kick it up a notch. - Honey walnut shrimp- to die for! Big fried prawns, whole candied walnuts, and a perfect satisfying honey sauce that isn't watery. -Beef and broccoli is a great dish if you have kids that don't like spice or chili. Fresh beef and perfectly cooked crisp green broccoli. -The Won Ton soup is outstanding and great on a cold winter night. I usually ask them to add $3 worth of sliced beef to the soup. I really need to try other dishes not in my familiarity because I know they won't disappoint. There is no other Chines Cuisine restaurant that can compete, and I not talking about Panda (which I do like for a fast grab and go). Go try this authentic wonderful little spot. We ordered three dishes, the first dish instead of bringing the right protein, which was shrimp they make it with beef. The second plate. The chicken was bad. The flavor was really weird and they have a weird smell. We called the waitress, which was a young girl. We explained to her about the chicken. There was no good that it taste bad and she have an attitude and asked What do you want me to do? In a rude way then I explained to her that the other dish they put the wrong protein and we ask for a Mongolian trim and instead of the Mongolian trim they brought a Mongolian beef. She didn't say anything. She just stated that the chef making a mistake at the point, she was not trying to make her right for my friend who couldn't have her lunch because after trying the chicken she have a really bad taste on her mouth. I asked her to talk to The person in charge. She told me there was no one in charge . She never came back and apologize for, there was a couple of other customer who wanted to pay the bill and the table and she was rude to them too, asking them to come to the register and pay, again rude attitude , so I don't recommend to visit this restaurant, I think this is the worst place to eat read more

Ordered hot and sour soup and the flavor was ok but the visual of the soup was not appealing. Dark brown! Not the usual. Normally the broth is light brown everywhere it is served. No Dark brown color for me. Will go elsewhere for it. read more

We have ordered to go from Wei Wei Kitchen three dishes in two visits. The first visit was 1) Beef Chow Fun and 2) Pork Chow Mein. The second to go order was 1) Beef Chow Fun and Wor Won Ton Soup. I ordered wonton soup as a walk-in just about the time they opened up . The place was clean and adorable . The lady that greeted me and took my order was very nice and accommodating. The food on the other hand was not good at all, to us at least . I've tried wonton soup at many different places but this establishment is very close to my house so I wanted to give them a try. I ordered two soups and the lady told me it would be about 15-20 minutes . No problem at all. I came back and got my order. Came home and my son and I had our soups and there was no meat hardly at all in there . The essence of the soup had a fishy essence. We did not order the wor wonton soup. The soup was cabbage and that's about it other than a few wontons. Very disappointed. I spent $30 for two soups and we didn't eat them. I'm hoping the other food is better. If I give them a chance. Again this has nothing to do with them and their service or anything like that, it was only the food. read more

I tried this restaurant for dinner while I was in Orangevale. The food was really good! We had wonton soup, chicken fried rice, Peking pork chop, and seasonal mixed vegetables. I enjoyed all of it. There was enough open seating in the restaurant and plenty of parking in the plaza that it's located in. My only complaint is that the waitress didn't check on us after serving our food. I had to flag someone down if I needed extra napkins or plastic utensils for my toddler. But I definitely recommend them for Chinese food! read more

Hallelujah to the people who bought out Sichuan Spice house and brought us Wei Wei Kitchen. We finally have authentic Sichuan food in Orangevale. We ordered the Sichuan spicy boiled fish. The fish tasted great and it had real Sichuan peppers/mala spice. Chow fun is one of my favorite Chinese dishes and I've eaten a lot of it in my life. Their chow fun is among the best . . . slightly smoky and flavorful from the wok. Wonderful! I also enjoy their Singapore noodles. Lots of curry flavor! I have been here a couple of times and it's not of fluke to get great food here. It's so nice to have some place local to get authentic Chinese food so I don't have to drive to South Sac. Absolutely astonishing, my 94 YO mother in law went there with my sister in law and had lunch. The bill was $54 and she tipped them 18%. They added another $5.00 to the tip. We have the receipt and the bank statement. I am so pissed off I am going to go say something directly! This is robbery and not to mention to a 94 YO woman. We just tried take out from Wei Wei Kitchen which has taken the place of Szechuan Spice House in Orangevale. What a pleasant surprise! The chowmein, pot stickers and combination fried rice were excellent. The honey walnut shrimp was outstanding. All of the portions were very generous, filling the takeout containers. We also noticed that Wei Wei now offers dine in service. Szechuan Spice House had not restarted that service following the Covid restrictions. We will gladly be regular customers. read more

Stopped by the new Chinese restaurant in Cable Park and was pleasantly surprised. Somewhat lacking in ambience but the fare really makes up for the florescent lighting and simple seating arrangements. We had Mu Shu pork, combination fried rice and the honey walnut shrimp. The portions were huge. The wait staff very through explaining the dishes in understanding our questions and concerns about MSG. Definitely 5 Stars in my book. Good food at a good price. We just came back from dinner and we are not happy. We have eaten lunch here a couple of times and liked it . Tonight was horrible. Cold hot and sour soup . Cold egg rolls . My shrimp curry was so bland I didn't even want to eat it . The fried rice seemed to be left over from lunch or something. We were very disappointed in the overall taste and temperature of the food . My husbands and my friends food was not very good either. They did take the soup back and reheat it but it was gross with something that looked like a chicken strip in the hot and sour soup. I love getting their combination plates. They come with either chow mein or fried rice with whichever entree you choose and an egg roll. I usually sub the egg roll for a cream cheese wonton. If you want half fried rice half chow mein it is an additional $2. I usually prefer fried rice over chow mein but I love their chow mein here! My favorite combination meal to order is the walnut shrimp. The workers I've encountered are all super friendly. They always have my food ready within 10 minutes. I've only ever done take out orders and they are pretty quick and efficient. The restaurant itself is small but clean. read more
