I'm looking at some older reviews, and feel like people need to know this shop has been under new ownership and staff since the beginning of this year (2026), so the other than location and name it's really a different store. I never visited under prior ownership, but I've had sessions with three or four of their therapists since January and they've all been great, really helping with knots in my shoulder and back, etc. and some flexibility issues I have. Very professional with service menu options that let you choose among Swedish, Thai, deep tissue, etc., or a combination. Rates are very reasonable so I try to tip generously. read more

December 2023; Found them on Craig's List for $45 for 30 minutes and thought that was more than fair but when I arrived the place had a very strong chemical odor. I asked what that was and they told me Jasmine but is smelled more like euculyptus or something like that but it was so strong I was ready to leave as the air was so polluted and forget about the massage but figured the room will not be as bad so I stayed. Whoever heard of paying ahead of time before they start? Yes, I had to pay ahead of time. Anyway, the mans name was Andy who was to do the massage for my back and neck injury. Others have reviewed this place as being too soft, well my experience was the polar opposite, it was so strong I could not wait for it to end. At one point Andy was off the ground and on the table bearing down on me with all of his weight. Never have I ever had anyone massage like this. I did not realize the full extent of how bad and damaging it was until I got out of there and for days later when I was in more pain than what I had before the service. I did tip the man as I was leaving to be nice but have no plans to ever go back. Be careful with this place is all I can say and stay away from Andy unless you want to be beat-up. I have been coming to Silver Lake Wellness Spa for a few years now. The spa itself is very clean and well sanitized and has a warm and peaceful ambiance. The staff is efficient and friendly and every single massage I've received here has been excellent. All of the masseuses, male and female, are very communicative, asking where you are experiencing pain or tension before the massage, asking if it's ok to do a walking massage on your back (which I highly recommend!) and generally making sure that you are comfortable during the massage. Afterwards, some water, a mint and you leave feeling like a new person. As for payment, I will add to what some reviewers are saying: They accept cash only and price of the massage is low considering how good (in my experience) the quality of the massage is, so have never felt strange about tipping / tipping well. It's a smaller business with great practitioners and I am happy to support. Also, I feel like a lot of the not so good reviews are from almost year or more ago, so I don't know what was going on, but judging from more recent reviews, they seem to have taken note and fixed things. Really recommend that you take the other reviews here to heart. I've never had a poor massage before; I've had bad massages or massages where something went wrong, but never a poor massage. It felt like the masseuse watched a YouTube video on how to give a massage and then gave me that. I could barely feel it, he would sometimes lightly pat my arms, and occasionally gently rub my back. It was a terrible massage, and I wasn't going to leave a review until what happened after. First, the massage was maybe the worst massage ever. You could barely feel it. I asked for harder, she said sorry this is as hard as I can do. I couldn't feel anything. Second, it was definitely shorter than it should have been. But the worst part was when they tried to force me to give a certain tip. I went to give them 20%, and they told me that it wasn't enough and that I had to give at least 33%. For what that massage was, they deserved nothing, but to force a 33% tip on someone is absurd. I refused, and they were clearly not happy about it. All that to say, worst massage parlor I have ever been to. Steer clear unless you want a terrible massage and then a forced tip. read more

Do not come here! I plan to report them to my bank! Mid massage cops stormed the place! Apparently they do more than massages! Besides being completely traumatizing! I'm completely disgusted! The officer knocked the door pushed it open the masseuse still tried closing the door on him! Insane doesn't begins to describe this experience! I was literally trembling! Pure disgust! And then the officer said you should refund, the guy in the reception was like no! Lolll! I could care less but this place needs to be closed down for good! It's next to a preschool! They do such a great job with making you feel comfortable by providing an aesthetically pleasing, always clean & professional atmosphere. My friend highly recommended this place so I thought I give it a try. I called and spoke to Brian who I believe is the owner of the wellness spa. I told him I wanted to pamper myself for my birthday and would like to get a Thai massage and facial. Brian was very polite and professional over the phone. On the day of my appointment, I arrived 10 minutes early and waited to be seen. Sat and waited for 15 min before the front desk person took me to a private room. The place looks clean and makes you feel very relaxed. Brian was my massage therapist and he gave me one of the best Thai and Swedish massages ever. He was so good with his hands. I felt so much better and less sore after the massage. After my massage, I got a facial. The facial was ok nothing special. Not sure if I will come back for the facial but the experience was pleasant. Overall, I had a great experience at this spa and would highly recommend Brian for thai massage. Just had an amazing massage here. The place is lovely and very well kept. I opted for a sport massage (I workout once or even twice a day) and have tried many massage places before (mostly Equinox spa): nothing compare to the massage I received. 1 - I didn't have to tell him where to focus as he got that directly from a first scan of my body 2 - it was a complete massage with no time "wasted" on irrelevant parts like "forehead" (once I had a masseur spending 15 mins on it). 3 - he showed me the difference between Swedish and sport massage so I even learned something Will book soon my next one here! read more

I decided to stop by Silver Lake Wellness Spa today. They've been getting some bad reviews recently so I thought I'd see for myself. I decided to NOT make an appointment. This is because (as mentioned in earlier reviews) the "suggested" tip on a $60 massage is $20. And yes, that equates to an expected tip of 33%. (btw, If service is good, I always tip 20%+.) But 33% seems excessive. And with the situation set up this way, the therapists hope that you will tip above and beyond that amount. So yes, I would not be surprised if a therapist asks/hopes for an additional tip. Consequently, a $60 massage could end up costing $100. I was also hoping to get an appt with Brian and he no longer works there. I think Silver Lake Wellness Spa needs to change their signs to read "If you are happy with the service today, we suggest adding a 20% gratuity." Or they could do what restaurants do and suggest various tip amounts on the receipt. Sadly I won't be going back to see if they change their policy. read more

This place is sketch. First off, I was told on the phone that it was $50/h and when I got there he charged me $60. I think his name was Kevin. Then I told him they said $50 and he said it may have been a misunderstanding. On their menu they have a $55 dollar option and I told him I wanted that one and he still forced the $60 on me. I was able to pay the $55 and in the middle of the massage he asked me for a $40 tip and when I said no he got upset and the quality declined. I got my massage at 6p (they close at 10p) and when I was done I gave my tip and right away he demanded more money and the DOOR WAS LOCKED. He raised his voice at me and I told him that was all I had and he said next time he can't do it unless the tip is more and I had to unlock the door myself to get out. I do not recommend anyone to come here. This used to be a. Great place but management must have changed because whoever is running this is no longer making it a nice place to come. Wow!!! This place is soooo NICE and professional.. very nice individual rooms with nice relaxing music on.. I had BRIAN everyone talking about here.. The first thing i felt he massaged me was his hands were very strong!!! I felt like i was in a thai massage parlor in Thailand while he was massaging me.. just good as massage in BKK.
