Great cigar bar. They have a good humidor and wide drink selections. The staff were friendly and super helpful. I stopped one night by myself and had a great time talking to the bartenders and other lost souls at the bar, next night I took two clients; both experiences were great. Lots of cigar lounges are exclusive to members which is a huge pain if one only wants to smoke and hang out every once in a while. This is the best part about Silver Leaf; they are welcoming and open for everyone, not just someone who pays thousands of dollars a year for a membership. I think this is a huge selling point and I assume they have lots of tourist business, being so near Sundance Square, as well as locals and regulars. There is a nice, large humidor and the waitstaff is very helpful and on top of customer service. You can grab a cigar to go or stay and smoke inside while enjoying a drink. They have an extensive liquor menu, which of course is pretty pricey. However, prices are pretty in tune with what one could expect. They have a seasonal beers in tap that are not listed on the menu but I had a Martin House Sliderbock, waitress recommended, and loved it. Overall, this is an excellent place to sit back and relax with a cigar and drink. The air is filtered periodically so it's also not smoky inside. read more

Great concept- they will pick up food for you, but the service is slow. Also ordered a $12 cocktail and it was pretty skimpy.

The wife and I have been to the Silver Leaf Cigar Lounge many times and while we enjoy ourselves and want the place to do well, there are definitely some improvements to be made in regards to the level of service. The ambiance is very nice, the humidor is well stocked and prices are reasonable for cigars but the interaction between the management and patrons is nearly nonexistent resulting in an experience that is, well, boring. That's too bad. They have some nice drinks and local beers to offer but either due to local laws or short sightedness, there are no snacks or appetizers and the service is just too non-chalant. During our most recent visit, the manager stood at the end of the bar for a while before succumbing to ennuyeux and literally crashing out in one of the patron armchairs for a snooze without ever talking to one of the several customers present. For the first time, since Silver Leaf opened, I have never experienced so many issues. The service was absolutely horrible from start to finish even after the place was maybe 1/3 full. To start, we cut and lit the cigars ourselves that we had picked out of the humidor since a waitress didn't stop by for over 15-20 minutes even after requesting one. In the 3.5 hours we were there, we were able to only get three drinks total. And to top off the night, we requested our tab at 11:35 and gave our cards only to wait until 12:30 to have them returned without a final tab. The hostess couldn't figure out how to split the tab correctly and charged my buddies card twice, ultimately coming back an hour later to ask for another credit card to charge his tab correctly. Overall, it was a very unpleasant and disappointing evening to say the least. I hope this was just a one night issue rather than a recurring one as silver leaf is usually a go to spot. read more

On the backside of Sundance Square plaza across from Bass Hall. Nice space: good bar, comfortable seating, several TVs. Not too crowded and not too smoky. Full liquor license with a Jack & Coke running a very reasonable $6.50 for the neighborhood. Nice eye candy among the friendly waitstaff and patrons, although I wouldn't describe the service as super-attentive (had to wait a while with an empty glass before someone noticed). That was the only slight misstep though. GM introduced himself and offered a tour of the humidor. Overall a thumbs up. read more

We stumbled upon this place after having dinner at Del Frisco's. My husband wanted to buy an after dinner cigar, and this spot came up within walking distance on Yelp. Yelp never fails us...we had a blast! They have TVs everywhere, live music, a full bar AND a full humidor! The bartenders and managers were great, as were the drinks. Prices, WELL, they were a little much, especially for the cigars. If you are looking for a cheap cigar this is NOT the place, but when in Rome right? I had a Madagascar vanilla as well as a "thin mint" cigar (as in the GS cookie)...holy crap that was tasty! My husband had a good cigar as well, but the prices were really bugging him, so he stuck to one. He's kind of a cigar snob, but I digress. He also had an after dinner scotch, which improved his mood a bit. I won't lie, it is smokey in there, but once you get used to it you'll be fine. Silver Leaf is the perfect spot in downtown for an afternoon chill. The lounge makes pretty good coffee, has nice light for working, and the acoustics to hear your company. Beers on tap are neatly seasonal, their liquors go up for anyone's price range, and the matches for cigar or cigarette smokers are a plus. This place was so pretty and we were looking to finish the night with a nice drink. We come in at 1:40 and sit at the bar, I know it's last call time but they are open until 2:00. The bartender is obviously hoping to ignore us until it's too late for a drink. The manager (I'm assuming) comes and asks us if we need a drink menu so he's still down for business. We decide on drinks and the bartender finally comes over. I order my cocktail and she gives me this super patronizing go to hell look and replies "We close in 10 minutes, so are you sure you want that?" When I told her I absolutely wanted it she gave me the biggest eye roll I had ever seen. She then asked my guy what he wanted, he replied and she proceeded to let him also know that they were "Now closing in 8 minutes" so was that what he "really wanted". She made no qualms about how put out she was with us. She then sulked off to make our drinks which were ready in like a minute, so they did not require any big labor intensive process. We were so bummed that she let us know we were a very big burden, although she was still serving others even after us. If your policy is closing at 2:00 but you stop working at 1:40 then just put that on the door or at least tell the manager not to give us drink menus. It'd be one thing if the place was empty but there were at least 20 people still actively hanging out. Awesome location but the bartender was so rude I can't believe she has a job. FYI, we were done with our $25 cocktails and gone before anyone around us had even finished tabbing out. read more
