Bar (long side looking from the portion of establishment near the pool tables)
    Kirstin N.

My goodness!! Where to even begin!! ?? #1TOP PRIORITY bathrooms SOOO very clean!! Wishing there were more stalls (and perhaps there were, I didn't ask) If you're a pool player, you'll be wondering why this hasn't been your getaway into a sea of 7' #Diamond pool tables covered in Simonis championship cloth, with bonus 8' and 9' tables! Writing this, I am nearly drooooling (not over the tables though!!) I had seen two separate Facebook posts advertising this establishment that made it appear as though the Saloon and Billiards area were maybe two separate entities maybe under the same roof.I visited yesterday before a tournament at another location as a reconnaissance mission of sorts. See, I'll be playing on a team at Silver Star beginning next week. I'm a self-described ambivert, so to eliminate the anxiety of trying to remember all new names, get my bearings, AND demonstrate the team made a good choice selecting me, I needed to eliminate one part of the "new-ness," ( think: being the new kid in middle school before knowing anyone). Now, I am a natural blonde, and have experienced a complicated entry into a "secret bar" back in the midwest where patron watch the vestibule captured with CCTV as the door person requests the hopeful entrant to do silly human tricks as the bar giggles and commiserates over a drink when finally enter. I entered the vestibule which clearly "open" and located conveniently very near the single disabled parking spot. Through the vestibule to a second door labeled "lLounge,". Mercy-me if I saw no pool tables when I had predicted (and was informed of) a great number of pool tables. Didn't see 'em, thought I may have missed the pool hall section entrance,...I fortunately do not embarrass easily, because I tried 3 other sets of doors that I thought just *had* to lead to my billiards nirvana. When I went back to the initial entrance and walked through the "Lounge" doors, laughing at myself, I INSTANTLY felt at home!! Very lovely bartender Annie fessing up to the value in entertainment revolved around confused pool addicts trying to enter. A few patrons joined in , introducing themselves and immediately helping me to feel relaxed, part of the group, and I'm in love! I didn't eat there but Annie made a great drink, I noticed a few people off-track horse race betting, a wall of electronic dart boards and 2 dart boards for steel-tipped darts. Dart leagues were about to begin, not very many pool players were there at that afternoon hour, though I'm sure weekends are packed. Ed runs a 9-ball tournament every Saturday night, though May 11th, there will be a memorial tournament honoring a pool player in the Vancouver community who had passed away. If you go to Silver Star and are bored, then just shut your pocket and leave the vibe fun and friendly. There's something for everyone: pinball, 2 separate jukeboxes (two sets of speaker systems), so be care when choosing your jukebox from the TouchTunes App. There are bar stools, chairs, small & larger booths, and sections that give me the impression that even on a very crowded night, nobody would be tripping over one another. I noticed their menu features breakfast until 4pm, for a night owl like me, that just doubled my love for this place!! Definitely a place I'll be proud to play for, and perhaps one day I'll be allowed the opportunity to become a marketing partner with! BLOWN AWAY!! 6/5 Thanks for your service, Annie! Tell your Dad, don't change a thing, (except maybe adding a couple restrooms, unless there already are and I just didn't look for nor see additional water-closets) If there's just one women's and one men's restrooms, the line must get quite long at large events ‍

Stopped in here for a beer and a shot (or few) with my buddy. Great service. Tons of pool tables. Lots of room for activities. I had the bacon burger with tots. Pretty tasty. I hope to try their nachos on my next visit. Kind of western themed (I'd be surprised given the name if they weren't) They offer horse track gambling (Atleast they were when I was there) Great staff. Great selection of beer on tap. They have Boneyard IPA. That's always a plus.

So this place has all the pool tables in the city! Well you would think they have over 15 tables. They take quarters which is nice and 50 cents a game. What a deal. This place came recommended from a fellow Bartender at Wild Fin on the waterfront. It has a nice jukebox that has a variety of music! Oldies and more! The prices of the drinks and food were reasonable. I had a great time here. Not to mention the Bar Staff was super nice! I'll be back to play some pool, have a cocktail and some munchies the menu looked good. As I didn't eat when I was here. I do like how spacious it is! Until next time!

When I asked about the order, the male KJ was dismissive, and the female KJ repeatedly stated that I was lying about signing up earlier. Two friends confirmed to her that I had not been lying, but she continued to insist otherwise. I spoke with the owner to explain the situation. Later, after leaving Underbar and going to Tip Top, the same KJ arrived there. I approached her to express that I did not appreciate being called a liar. She then represented the interaction as if I had been harassing her, which was not accurate, as I had arrived at Tip Top before she did. Overall, the situation was handled unprofessionally by the karaoke staff, and the interaction was unnecessarily confrontational.

It's significantly quieter when we've gone - around 530pm. They have happy hour until 7pm and honestly their food is some of the better bar food I've had. Their food is $6/item for happy hour. HIGHLY recommend the sweet potato fries and fried chicken tacos. It is dark in there - so fair warning. But otherwise it's a fun atmosphere and a great place to get an after work drink.

The atmosphere feels tense, people are getting kicked out for no clear reason, and it's uncomfortable just being there. The leadership shows. Rude, unwelcoming, and clearly out of touch with the crowd that built this bar in the first place. Yes, it's technically a country bar -- and that was fine. What made it work was the balance. They used to blend in other genres, which kept the dance floor full and the crowd diverse. Now it's country-only, all night, no variation. There's nothing wrong with country, but stripping away the mix that made it successful feels like a lazy, tone-deaf decision driving away a lot of customers. Security, bartenders, and DJs are still great -- they're not the problem. Ownership is. I won't be back. And judging by how empty it's getting, I won't be the only one.

My son and I had one mission: swing by…read moreGameStop, grab a couple of games, and head home before I somehow got talked into buying another controller we definitely didn't need. We took a different exit through Vancouver Mall, and that's when I spotted a sign that read, "Ice Cream - $1 a scoop." Well... now we're negotiating. One scoop turned into wandering into Round1, and I swear I felt like I accidentally walked into an arcade the size of a small airport. If you're into claw machines, congratulations you've found your homeland. I think they had enough of them to keep a thousand stuffed animals unemployed. Everywhere I looked there were lights flashing, people laughing, prizes dangling just out of reach, and enough games to make my son forget I existed for a while. Then I saw it. The bowling alley. I lit up like a kid who just found out recess got extended. I love bowling, and usually a bowling night means my wallet leaves with a limp. By the time you pay for bowling, shoes, food, drinks, and whatever else mysteriously ends up on the bill, you're wondering if you accidentally financed the lanes. Round1 was different. It's affordable, it's convenient, and it's sitting right inside the mall. That's a dangerous combination... mostly for my free time. The whole place was spotless. The staff was friendly, everything looked modern, and the lighting and giant screens gave it that fun, energetic vibe without feeling over the top. It's not the biggest bowling alley you'll ever see, but honestly, who cares? It's close, it's clean, there's great food just steps away, and after you're done bowling you can lose to your kid in a racing game before watching him dominate a claw machine you swear is rigged. I lived in Vancouver for a while years ago, and now that I'm back, I'm constantly surprised by all the new places popping up. This was one of those surprises that made me smile. I'm not even a huge arcade guy by myself, but with my son? It turned an ordinary shopping trip into one of those afternoons you remember long after the games are over. Some people rate places by comparing them to the biggest and fanciest entertainment centers. I rate them by one simple question: Did I leave happier than when I walked in? The answer here is an easy yes. Round1 isn't just an arcade. It's one of those places where a quick stop somehow turns into, "Wait... we've been here three hours?" Five stars from me. Just don't blame me when you tell your kids you're "just stopping by for a minute" and suddenly you're carrying a giant stuffed banana, holding bowling shoes, and wondering where the afternoon went.

Let's start off with the claw machines, we had a blast (for the most part). The large and medium claws we found we could win before it was time for payout. The mini claws, were just as expensive as the other claw machines, and way harder to win from. As for the arcade section, it was very lackluster. The games were pricey, some didn't work, while others were missing balls or beanbags. It was hard to accumulate enough tickets to get anything substantial from the prize area. The staff we encountered had mixed attitudes. Some were very nice and helpful with resetting the claw machines, while others seemed putout, that they hated working there, and were quite surly. Overall we enjoyed ourselves in the claw area, and would come back just to experience that.
