This has happened so frequently, I can't help but believe this is the way the Customer Service Representatives are actually being trained. I have been a training and development manager for a large corporation for over 40 years and this company definitely has a leadership problem. If they have a leadership problem, they have a management problem if they have a management problem, subordinates are not capable of providing service - does our left on their own to be rude, abusive, or whatever else they might choose. Century link had a monopoly for many years in areas where there were no other options such as my geographical location. However, with the advent of such companies such as Starlink, they will either have to change their ways or start planning for bankruptcy. Customers no longer HAVE to use Century link. I am now a happy Starlink Customer, paying the same price as Century link, getting six times the speed, better latency, & uninterrupted service, with friendly supportive CSR's who don't speak to me rudely, or otherwise abuse me as a customer.

I contacted Alee with HiTek Telecom to get a quote on a complete network job for my home. Not only do my spouse that I work from home, but I also do a lot of photography and video that I transfer back-and-forth on my network and into the cloud. I was tired of poor and drop connections with my consumer level Wi-Fi system. In addition, I wanted a local security camera system that I can control without relying on a cloud service. After receiving a quote and agreeing on the scope of work, I scheduled the installation. Alee came out on time on the date scheduled and we walked through the plan of installation and confirmed what all my needs were. Alee and his team worked through the day and completed the install job in an incredibly professional manner. The installation and the cable runs, and all of the final product was exactly as described. After the install, Alee walked me through downloading all of the software that I needed, how to access and navigate the system, how to navigate and operate the security cameras, and ensure that everything was working properly. To be sure, this was a relatively large install for a residential application. I wanted ethernet drops in every room of my house, a new professional grade network cabinet, in-ceiling WIFi network, and a new suite of security cameras. I couldn't have asked for a better end product. I am quite pleased with the attention to detail of the install and making sure everything was perfect, workmanlike, and care was taken in my home. Alee came back out to adjust a couple of things for me after the fact and install an additional camera. Again, he was on time on the scheduled day. The workmanship was just as good and the communication has been stellar throughout. I truly can't recommend HiTek and Alee enough. Top-notch product and top-notch service.

OK, I have a lot of problems with Verizon as a corporation. However I won't go into specifics here…read more What I will say is that the company continues to have among the best customer service agents out there. We had a problem with suddenly almost running out of our monthly data allotment because a family member wasn't aware that streaming video and audio apps are data hogs. After two straight months of this we decided it was time to look at other multiple line family plans. Now, I've got a college degree, I've got a background in computers and such. But after reading the descriptions of the different plans and costs the details get jumbled in the brain. When they say unlimited is it really unlimited? And we don't need the top plan padded with apps and services we'll never use. But these other plans don't seem right either. What to do, what to do? So I broke down and started an online chat with a Verizon agent. She was perky and friendly and professional--and stayed that way over what became a marathon 90 minute to two hour chat. She did a great job of explaining all the benefits of the plan she thought was best so that even I could understand it. The only moment of disagreement we had was when she changed our current phone insurance plan to a new, cheaper one without getting my authorization first. But she immediately said she could change it back right away so I allowed the change. By the end of the chat, she had shown me how the this new plan with features we'd use and will never use was only slighter more expensive than our old plan. We had been paying extra for add-ons that were now included in the new plan. And now we have plenty of unlimited talk, text and data! With rare exceptions, Verizon customer service phone and chat agents have been superb through the many years we've had our wireless service with them. It's one of the major reasons why we stay with the company. Well, also because they provide the strongest cellular signals in our area. I still don't care for Verizon as a corporate entity but as I always say, sometimes you have to dance with the devil.

My old connection went down this weekend and not having it for a few days while I was sick and still trying to work was... well, it just didn't work for me. I didn't want to wait a week for delivery or for a rep to come out to install something that I could easily install myself, so I decided to make the trek out to the Comcast Store way out there in 126th & Stone Way land. The 358 actually got me super close. It's definitely one of my least favorite buses in Seattle, but this time it was thankfully an incident-free and easy trip. (They seem to have plenty of parking for those of you who drive there.) When I walked in I had to select my reason for visiting on the touch screen and get a ticket. There were only a few customers there when I arrived, so my number was called within about a second of me grabbing it from the machine. I walked over to the rep, explained what I needed, and he took care of it. Whole process from grabbing ticket to walking out of the store with my new modem (and the rest of the starter kit) was less than 10 minutes. SWEET! I'm not looking forward to how much I'll be paying them once my promotional price ends after 6 months, but I frequently use my home internet for work, so it kind of "pays" for me to have it.

I don't know what that means, but no one responds after 5pm on some days. If you leave a message after hours they don't return the call. I called the other evening and the line was forward to a number in area code 610 that would not take messages. We were told how great it would nbe to be sold to WAVE because of their greater resources. One would think that after a year they would at least have Wave respond to support. Another interesting thing. We had to enter all our account information from Cascade Link's invoices into the new system. Why do I need to transfer my account? Service is generally good, but if there is a problem, there is no one to respond outside of business hours. That is just not acceptable for an internet business!

The speed is great and was way faster and more consistent than Comcast. BUT all of that is negated by occasional shutdowns of internet where you can't even call customer support! Happened today and I'm sad to see this is a frequent occasion. Of all days, it happens when I'm working from home. Now I got to make up the hours on the weekend...awesome. In Cap Hill, if you want to pay $10/month less for reliable internet, go with Comcast. I had them last month, thought I'd try out CascadeLink for it's marginally faster connection, but will surely be returning to Comcast. Comcast has its own problems, but at least I can rely on internet working when I need it. tldr: Do NOT sign up with the service unless you're ready for frequent surprise internet shut downs. Comcast is more reliable, cheaper, currently offering around 70 Mbps for $40/month vs. Cascades 30Mbps for $50/month

Complaint registered today against Xfinity, owned by Comcast:…read moreDescription of complaint: Comcast/Xfinity billing is confusing to say the least. Current bill due as of 8/1/2024. They bill a month in advance. Yesterday, I cancelled that plan which should erase the $206 normal charges. I am making a payment of $93.37 tomorrow, which I am not challenging. There may be a residual balance of under $25, but they are telling me that I will owe $152 and change after tommorow's payment, and this is part of the amount I am challenging. I have paid $250 on 7/4/2024 and with tomorrow's payment, that is $343 in one month!!!! On my last complaint to the BBB, they also told me they would credit the $100 tech visit on 3/24/2024 which I was told several times by the tech that actually came to my house that I WOULD NOT BE CHARGED, so this $100 credit did not drop off. I was also told twice by two different chat discussions subsequent to that date. So the total amount that I should be credited would be $252 and change. The only reason for two stars is because of the hours I have had to spend challenging their puzzling billing "rules," in which, after I cancelled all TV expenses, the gave me bare internet FREE for one year. I am finally switching to a digital antenna, and getting a smart TV. To their credit, Xfinity's internet is EXCELLENT in quality and speed, even at 50Mbps. Quite simply, $230 a month for TV and internet is TOO MUCH, even if you are fairly well off. Since 2006, I have paid Comcast some $40,000 in services, taxes, fees and miscellaneous "other" charges. Not any more.
