They were out of one of the things I ordered, which unfortunately is something I look forward to. There is no substitute for uni really. But that happens and it's not their fault. Started with house salad. The ingredients were fresh. If felt underdressed, but the dressing is just watery and most of it ended up at the bottom of the bowl. Still tasty way to start. I was then served the two ha!drolls. The spicy tuna hand roll was pretty good, with a nice amount of tuna. The salmon skin hand roll was fine. But I prefer it when the salmon skin has a little salmon meat on it. But this was made well. The toro sushi was nice., with fresh wasabi. I hit the spot. The japanese scallop sashimi was ok. It didn't have the firmness I associate with fresh scallops (taken from a shell). It was more like scallops that were frozen. They were still ok. The place itself is lovely: There's a waterfall at the entrance that brings a soothing quality to the dining area. The whole place feels cool and cozy, with some background music playing. It's nice. The service is very good. The chefs are pretty quick. The servers are friendly and helpful. This is a nice spot I'd come to again. If probably not gone here for a sushi fix, more for business food with a couple of pieces of sushi; The bill was pretty high for what I got. But I didn't get their designed lunches or specials because I don't want tuna/salmon/yellowtail when I get sushi or sashimi and that costs more. I'm fine with it.
My coworkers always come here for lunch in between or after meetings. This restaurant is always consistent, quick and the waiters/waitresses are always on point. We were strapped for time as we had a meeting to go to afterwards. We got a seat right away and ordered. The food came out so fast and service was great! Food was solid with great portions. Thanks so much to the team here who brought us our food quickly so that we could make it to our next meeting! Definitely will be coming back again.
So we paid $38 to take an uber to this place in the middle of nowhere and arrived at 8:25pm, the doors were closed but it said on the door "closed at 9pm" and also online stated that it closed at 9pm. The lady that opened the door was extremely rude, we told her that we arrived on time and she said she had sent all her cooks home. She took zero accountability for the poor service, and poor business practices.
Decent sushi place. I came during lunch and was hoping the service would've been a little faster but it was slow and I felt rushed to eat and get back to work. There wasn't any lunch specials, so that was a little bit of a letdown. However the restaurant was very clean and the waitress was nice. I might skip this place for lunch and try it for dinner instead when I'm not on a time crunch.
It's so beautiful here but def a little more pricy then I'm used too lol but it was totally worth it for my tonkatsu ramen. I didn't get to take a photo of my food but the waitress was super sweet and enjoyable. Our table was in a beautiful area and the ambiance is super chill. I will def be returning but keep in mind come w a good amount to spend
Kaya Sushi - My Go-To Spot for Nearly a Decade I've been coming to Kaya Sushi for over 9 years, and it's hands down my favorite sushi spot. This is a family-owned and operated restaurant where quality truly matters. Sharon is an absolute sweetheart and always makes you feel welcome, and the chefs put genuine care and attention into every dish they serve. It's taken me a while to write this review because, honestly, a part of me wanted to keep this place a little secret. It's mostly locals who come here, and many--like me--have become regulars over the years. I eat here about once a month, and when I'm feeling under the weather, I always order their seafood ramen. The broth is incredible--comforting, flavorful, and somehow revives me every time. If you're looking for fresh sushi, warm service, and a place that feels like home, Kaya Sushi is it.

Kaya Sushi is just great. It has the best sushi in Los Angeles. The prices are fair and parking is easy. The service is just great. The staff is so friendly and you are greeted when you come in. They know the menu well and can help you with any questions. Everything is made there and it is just perfect. They are fast but never rush you. Some items take a few minutes because it is all made to order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is super cute. The Fisherman's Dynamite, Kaya Dynasty Ramen, and the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box Lunch were great. The Fisherman's Dynamite was creamy and cheesy. The Kaya Dynasty Ramen had a savory broth. The Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box Lunch came with a nice variety of sushi, rolls, tempura, salad, rice, krabmeat sunomono, and miso soup. read more

Visiting from Houston - found this wonderful place near my hotel - popped in on s Saturday night. First of all, the Yelp reviews here are underrated. This is a superb restaurant that's friendly, attentive, clean, and peaceful (just like the little Buddha statues that align the walls). The ceilings are high, giving the place a mellow, airy feeling. The ambiance is laid back and easy going. There's even a cascading waterfall over a glass wall for that premium look. I've had the dolsot bibimbap, the Bento boxes, and the gyoza. All of it was excellent and fresh, with generous portions. The bibimbap is some of the best I've eaten (better than even those of some of the more expensive Korean restaurants in LA). The shift manager, Sharon, is a delightful host and makes you feel welcome. The rest of the staff is courteous, responsive, polite, and professional. I could eat here everyday if my spoiled American, foodie palate didn't pull me away to other cuisines. (I honestly can't eat food from the same regional cuisine for more than two days at the most.) This is one of El Segundo's best restaurants, full stop. If you're craving Japanese food, sushi, or even Korean cuisine, Kaya is a place you must try. read more

It was our first time coming out to try Kaya Sushi as a date night. We ordered 3 sushi rolls; the Hongster, Rainbow, and the Daphney's roll, as well as some miso soup, blue crab sushi, and Jap Che. All of the food was great! The miso soup was hearty and our sushi was filling. The staff were very friendly and our waiter John was very attentive to us, he made sure we were happy and satisfied with our meals. Would recommend to come check it out! read more

My husband and I and went with our good friends to Kaya Sushi in El Segundo. We had a lovely time. Our waitress had a very warm personality and our food was exquisite. We love Sushi and going trying new sushi places. Kaya Sushi never disappoints!!! This was my second time ordering the ramen and WOW!!!it's absolutely delicious, so flavorful and comforting!!! My husband tried a new sushi roll this time and, like always, it was fresh, perfectly made, and so good!!! We also ordered our regular cucumber salad!! We also have to give a big shout-out to Sharon -- she's always so lovely, friendly, and welcoming!!! She truly makes every visit feel special!!! Kaya gave our work group fantastic service for lunch. They seated our group of 10 promptly and within 20 minutes we had our order placed. The decoration is pleasing, with a nice waterfall at the entrance. Once the sushi started coming out, it came in delicious waves of sashimi, nigiri and sushi rolls. The tempura was fresh. The bluefin sashimi was delightful. I especially enjoyed the Marilyn Mon-Roll! Thanks Kaya for a successful lunch outing. read more

Kaya El Segundo is our go-to for outstanding sushi in a nice environment. A lot of sushi restaurants in our area are casual with menu items where the quality varies. But Kaya meals are always inventive, delicious, and incredibly fresh. The staff are attentive and welcoming. This is my cheers! I travel ALL the time and come here after I land if I'm lucky enough to be on time. 9 times out of 10 I sit at the bar, and talk to Seung, who by the way makes the most amazing spicy tuna roll you have ever had! Sharon is amazing and makes everyone feel like family. Sometimes I want to be basic, and sometimes I want the crazy rolls, but I am always happy when I eat here! The bathrooms are so clean I could eat off the floor. Do yourself a favor, come to kaya! read more

I've been a Kaya Sushi patron since before this location even existed. I much prefer the El Segundo location over the Marina due to the abundance of free parking and El Segundo never has a dinner wait. Sharon treats us like family and she always has great menu recommendations. We love the quality and freshness of the fish and creativity of the menu. This isn't your mall sushi spot with cheap rolls, a picture menu and half price specials. This is the real deal where the chefs take pride in their work and you're paying for quality fish.
