Visiting from Houston - found this wonderful place near my hotel - popped in on s Saturday night. Intimate restaurant with soft lighting. Definitely a local place. Sat at the bar and chatted with the chefs. Definitely recommend if you haven't.

They were out of one of the things I ordered, which unfortunately is something I look forward to. There is no substitute for uni really. But that happens and it's not their fault. Started with house salad. The ingredients were fresh. If felt underdressed, but the dressing is just watery and most of it ended up at the bottom of the bowl. Still tasty way to start. I was then served the two ha!drolls. The spicy tuna hand roll was pretty good, with a nice amount of tuna. The salmon skin hand roll was fine. But I prefer it when the salmon skin has a little salmon meat on it. But this was made well. The toro sushi was nice., with fresh wasabi. I hit the spot. The japanese scallop sashimi was ok. It didn't have the firmness I associate with fresh scallops (taken from a shell). It was more like scallops that were frozen. They were still ok. The place itself is lovely: There's a waterfall at the entrance that brings a soothing quality to the dining area. The whole place feels cool and cozy, with some background music playing. It's nice. The service is very good. The chefs are pretty quick. The servers are friendly and helpful. This is a nice spot I'd come to again. If probably not gone here for a sushi fix, more for business food with a couple of pieces of sushi; The bill was pretty high for what I got. But I didn't get their designed lunches or specials because I don't want tuna/salmon/yellowtail when I get sushi or sashimi and that costs more. I'm fine with it.

The Fisherman's Dynamite, Kaya Dynasty Ramen, and the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box Lunch were great. The Fisherman's Dynamite was creamy and cheesy. The Kaya Dynasty Ramen had a savory broth. The Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box Lunch came with a nice variety of sushi, rolls, tempura, salad, rice, krabmeat sunomono, and miso soup.

My coworkers always come here for lunch in between or after meetings. This restaurant is always consistent, quick and the waiters/waitresses are always on point. We were strapped for time as we had a meeting to go to afterwards. We got a seat right away and ordered. The food came out so fast and service was great! Food was solid with great portions. Thanks so much to the team here who brought us our food quickly so that we could make it to our next meeting! Definitely will be coming back again.

Decent sushi place. I came during lunch and was hoping the service would've been a little faster but it was slow and I felt rushed to eat and get back to work. There wasn't any lunch specials, so that was a little bit of a letdown. However the restaurant was very clean and the waitress was nice. I might skip this place for lunch and try it for dinner instead when I'm not on a time crunch.

It's so beautiful here but def a little more pricy then I'm used too lol but it was totally worth it for my tonkatsu ramen. I didn't get to take a photo of my food but the waitress was super sweet and enjoyable. Our table was in a beautiful area and the ambiance is super chill. I will def be returning but keep in mind come w a good amount to spend

So we paid $38 to take an uber to this place in the middle of nowhere and arrived at 8:25pm, the doors were closed but it said on the door "closed at 9pm" and also online stated that it closed at 9pm. The lady that opened the door was extremely rude, we told her that we arrived on time and she said she had sent all her cooks home. She took zero accountability for the poor service, and poor business practices.

Nice staff ... we came in at 5p after a flight and they were ready for us. We enjoyed some sushi and a few rolls Cubana and Salmon zest all hit the spot. Pretty place too

Came here with a coworker after working in the area for several years and glad I came. Here for the 2nd time - the food is great and comes out fairly quick. The service is very friendly and courteous. Great place to grab a quick lunch.

Kaya Sushi - My Go-To Spot for Nearly a Decade I've been coming to Kaya Sushi for over 9 years, and it's hands down my favorite sushi spot. This is a family-owned and operated restaurant where quality truly matters. Sharon is an absolute sweetheart and always makes you feel welcome, and the chefs put genuine care and attention into every dish they serve. It's taken me a while to write this review because, honestly, a part of me wanted to keep this place a little secret. It's mostly locals who come here, and many--like me--have become regulars over the years. I eat here about once a month, and when I'm feeling under the weather, I always order their seafood ramen. The broth is incredible--comforting, flavorful, and somehow revives me every time. If you're looking for fresh sushi, warm service, and a place that feels like home, Kaya Sushi is it.

This is our go to spot. We come here so often they know our name and they know our order. Sometimes, like tonight we like to switch it up and order a dessert. This was truly special. But we always order the japche and at least one of us gets bibimbap While I come here for the food, the ambience is lovely too

It was prepared table side and was just incredible. Our server Kelly was amazing! Loved her great recommendations, and she constantly checked in with us. Her German/Ecuadorian heritage coincided with an upcoming World Cup match, so having her as our server was extremely fortuitous. The restaurant ambiance is simple yet welcoming along the main road. Parking was a little crowded but we found street parking not far away. I love how they have a waitlist and how food came out really quickly. They have their own special soy sauce recipe! We ordered some takeout food on the side and Kelly was on top of it all. Thanks to Kelly, the delicious food and fast service, this place is exceptional and gets high marks for me. I highly recommend checking out this place.

Hidden in plain sight, Kagura is a top tier Japanese dining experience. It should be noted that this place is more $$$ than it is $$, and that's a compliment. I dropped $50+ here and it was easy to say it was worth it. I treat myself to the Kagura Gozen chef especial that was limited on how many was served per day and a Orion Okinawa draft beer. Plus, I had leftovers. The chef special came with more-than-a-little of everything. Each dish was unique and delicious. I was treated to a full spread of amazing Japanese cuisine. Sashimi was fresh, katsu was thick and juicy with a lightly breaded crust, eel was flavorful and soft, and the soba noodles were perfect. The restaurant is clean and beautifully laid out. I got vibes of actually being in Japan. If you have a reservation, you can get a private booth. The attractive staff were fantastic. Friendly and fast. Water glass was always full and empty dishes were promptly removed. Last tid bits. Two clean solo bathrooms and street parking.

This time, I noticed this location offers special Gozen set meals that I hadn't seen before. They had a limited Dinner Gozen on the menu with only 10 sets available each night. Of course I had to order it. The set came with a little bit of everything: sushi, sashimi, katsu, eel rice, toro rice, ikura rice, soba, a variety of small cold side dishes, soup, and salad. It was a huge meal and I was honestly surprised I managed to finish the whole thing. I really enjoyed it because you get to try so many different items in one meal. If you're like me and love Japanese food, this is a great way to sample a little bit of everything without having to order a bunch of separate dishes. Everything tasted fresh and the quality was excellent. The restaurant itself isn't very big, so it can get pretty busy. They do take reservations though, which I'd recommend if you're planning to come during dinner. Overall, I really enjoyed this special Gozen meal and would definitely come back. It was a fun experience and a great value for the variety and quality of food you get.

It's the best to go sushi i've ever had. i like getting the to go meal that omits the cut rolls, as I'm not that big of a fan of the crab roll. it's not bad. it's just ok. i'd rather not have the cut rolls and add individual things I love, like toro, uni, or hotate, which I had instead of tuna and crab cut rolls tonight. Picking the food up is easy. It was ready when I got there. No waiting. Easy in, easy out. There were many people waiting to eat. I like the ambiance of the Manhatten. Beach location, which is the closest to our home. But i've been to the o e downtown by far the most. And if you want hand rolls? KazuNori is their hand roll place - and it's also great. With the USA getting a massive FIFA win, my New York Knicks finally taking home the NBA Finals Championship, and the Carolina Hurricanes defeating the Vegas Knights for the Stanley Cup, my friends and I needed a top-tier spot to celebrate. There was no question we were heading straight to Dash Dashi in Manhattan Beach. Located right near the pier on Manhattan Ave, Dash Dashi perfectly blends that laid-back South Bay coastal energy with incredibly refined sushi. We walked in buzzing from the games, and the staff matched our energy perfectly. The service here is always attentive and friendly. We kicked off the celebration with a round of their premium chilled sake and an order of their spicy garlic edamame. Do yourself a favor and do not skip the edamame--the hot spice blend is dangerously addictive and pairs perfectly with the sake. But let's talk about the main event. If you follow my channel, you already know I come here for one specific reason: the off-menu "KG Roll." The chefs know exactly how to make this custom signature roll for me, and it is a masterpiece every single time. The fish is insanely fresh and buttery, and it has the exact right balance of heat and crunch. Seriously, ask the chef if they can whip up the Kristina Farberman special (the KG Roll)--you will not regret it! Whether you're celebrating a historic weekend of sports sweeps or just looking for some of the best sushi in the South Bay, Dash Dashi never misses.
