    Blaze with pork
    Tara F.

Finally tried this place and it was very good. Was it the best ramen I've ever had? No. But it was up there. Ramen was tasty and very filling. It was very flavorful and certainly not bland. I got the Blaze with pork mild and it still had a kick to it. Apparently the medium is pretty spicy so be careful. Ordering is easy too as you can order on a screen and service is smooth.

O really a really good food chain but some locations are in fact better than others... So far the Santa Monica location is my least favorite and the Silverlake location is my most favorite.

Ordered the Garlic truffle ramen and frankly it wasn't that great! It came with a hunk of fatty pork that put me more in mind of carnitas than anything used in ramen.. I was excited to try them but I was quite disappointed in the flavor. I wouldn't recommend it..

This is one of my favorite chain ramen spots. (Not pictured) I got their spicy tonkatsu ramen with medium heat. It was very spicy so keep that in mind mind. Noodles soft and full of flavor, broth was light and didn't feel too heavy. Inside had one big table and few small table along side and bar top. Lots of seating but harder if big party. Service was good, very attentive as its order yourself and the food runners do a lot of the work.

Nice ramen spot on Santa Monica, just order through the screen and grab your table number. Food was so good!! Tried garlic truffle ramen - delicious and thick

Silver Ramen never disappoints! I have been here several times and I really enjoy the Ramen. They offer such big servings, that it's so hard to finish an entire bowl. I highly recommend the veggie Ramen. It is so delicious and filling.!!

April 2025. Shoyu Fire was fire!!! Damn I missed this spot. It's been a minute since I last came to this location and it did not disappoint. The broth was amazing. Full flavor and not greasy or heavy and was spicy! Noodles were perfect. Nice chew and flavor. Gyoza and chicken karage also super good! Service excellent and ambiance was a very cool LA vibe.

Classic with chicken and extra boiled egg

The broth is so good, smooth and flavorful. I also like that they have veggies added to add texture. Service and ambience is nice as well. I think the reason why this place doesn't get more foot traffic despite its amazing location (right on 3rd street!) is the texture of the ramen noodles which are really doughy. If they find a way to improve the texture of the noodles I think it would be so much better!!

I was surprised to find a ramen place in the middle of 3rd street and decided to try it. The menu on the monitor was easy to understand and the order was placed pronto. The restaurant has a modern look and does not ready resemble a Japanese food place. However it still has a pretty cool vibe. The staff was friendly and the food was served in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen. The broth was flavorful without being heavy. The noodle was cooked to perfection (slightly on the al dente side). The boiled egg was on the spot and the pork chasu was so tender that I was able to tear it with spoon. The bamboo shots were soft and went well with the rest of the bowl. The price was reasonable and a great option for those visiting the area.

Incredibly mediocre food but incredibly good service with prime location and amazing ambiance. I tried the Tsukemen and the broth was not as strong as in other places, but the noodles were great. They put an insane amount of bean sprouts (almost as much or even more than noodles, lol), but both the food runner and the busses were so friendly that I still had to give them the 4 stars. Also, there was a super talented man singing Blues right outside (shoutout to Lenny the Great) which made the whole experience more enjoyable and added to the ambiance.

I've ordered a few times here for take out for their regular chicken bowls. Today, I ordered a large bowl and the chicken was only 4 pieces when a regular bowl is typically 3-4 pieces. SMH...

Went here for a late lunch and the food came out super quick and was delicious! Would definitely go back again soon!

A bit on the saltier side, but I feel like that's always my take on ramen. Came with spicy sauce, which was very mild and I had to add some extra in there for the perfect spice level. We were lucky to find a metered parking that already had money in it, yay! There are a bunch of eateries on this street as well. It's a small restaurant inside, but more space outside. Not that busy at all, there were only 2 other parties dining at the same time as us during prime dinner time. I saw they were running a Demon Slayer promotion and I wanted the free spoon haha. So I ordered the Tokyo Yatai Ramen and my friend ordered the Birria Ramen. The waiter or owner(?) who talk our order was also very nice! Very quick and efficient with our order. It didn't take too long for our ramen to be prepared. First glance, it doesn't look like your traditional ramen. It actually looks more Chinese style ramen. Especially the noodles? The texture is not quite the same as traditional ramen shops (and I have been to Japan). The ramen bowl itself was pretty simple, strong flavors from the chicken broth, the pork itself was pretty alright. It's honestly pretty standard but does not have a Japanese feel to it. I tried my friend's Birria Ramen and it's literally tastes like a taco in a bowl haha, which is pretty accurate. So even my Chinese friend likes the birria ramen because it reminds of her this Chinese instant noodle she always has lol. So I guess meaning in a good and bad way, but she still enjoyed it. Overall, the whole experience was not bad. I do only see JINYA in the more 'whiter' communities, so I find this to be not very authentic Japanese ramen. Also it's pricy for what it is when I can get an authentic bowl for $16.

We came in for dinner on a Sunday night with a large group and were seated within 15 minutes. From what we could tell, there were only two servers, and they were responsible for running their own food while also handling takeout orders. They did an AMAZING job for only two people managing so much. As soon as we were seated, we got waters and let our server know we would be paying separately. She was very friendly and worked with us perfectly. We were able to split the bill into four checks, which worked great for all the couples in the group. I ordered the Bento Box with salmon, and my husband got the Bento Box with chicken. We also ordered the Crunch Roll. The Crunch Roll came out first, and it was delicious and definitely lived up to the name--it was actually crunchy! I loved the size of the Bento Box. It came with so much food and included a starter miso soup. The miso soup had great flavor, although I personally prefer larger tofu pieces. That might just be a personal preference, though. I usually have a lot more to say in my reviews, but everything was absolutely delicious and the service was truly 10/10. I do want to mention that one of our friends ordered the ramen, and she felt the flavor was a little bland. Her parents own both a Mexican restaurant and a sushi restaurant, and one of her dad's rules is that if you're a sushi restaurant, stick with sushi and do it well instead of trying to do too many different things. One thing done really well is sometimes better than trying to do everything.

They grill their chicken on a very hot flame, and it comes out with a lovely charred, smoky flavor. This combines with the thick ramen broth for a truly unique and incredible sensation. Each table has a small container of yuzu paste; I would recommend mixing in a good bit to add a slight kick and some citrus notes to the ensemble. Do note that the interior, while intimate and great for small groups, isn't the biggest, so on a busy day you might need to wait. That said, I've never seen Torisoba Sumiya too crowded yet, so it might still be something of a hidden gem. I'll end off by saying this is ALWAYS my go-to for showing visitors ramen in LA. The reactions have been overwhelming. I've had a group enter a flow state eating their meals in complete silence, only to realize after it all just how significant that is. Another group shed legitimate tears over experiencing a new tier of ramen. With this in mind, don't come when you're in a rush, but definitely make sure to try it when you are able.

The charcoal-blackened chicken broth is full of flavor. Smoky and luscious but still light and clean. The spicy chicken broth is also very balanced and rich, matching perfectly with thin chewy noodles and tender chicken. We added the small rice bowls to the ramen for only $5 more and devoured it like the beasts we are. I also had a draft of Suntory Premium Malt and it was wonderfully chilled with the perfect head. Server was friendly and asked if we parked in the plaza lot next door because they validate parking for an hour and a half. Spread the word! Free parking in LA and especially on the west side is worth the price of gold, amirite? Thank you, Torisoba, for a most delicious meal. Keep up the good work.
