This is a sad excuse for a burger place. I wish I could give zero stars. First, the menu actually looks decent. But this is deception. We all had the bison burger with cheese and I had onion rings. The burger is so bland, it is disgusting. I've had many bison burgers before and this had to have been the worst. I tried drowning out the horrible flavor with hot sauce, but they only have Chalulu. No tabasco. The onion rings were even worse. They have a terrible double burnt flavor. They were freezer burnt and then they burned them in the fryer. Yeah, for $75 for three people to have a burger, these people should be ashamed of themselves. Just go to mcdonalds..... it's actually better. read more

What a great lunch spot. It's a bit hidden in the basement level but there's an elevator to get to it. The place is super kid friendly with lots of Star Wars toys and crayons for the littles while you wait for your grub. We had the wahoo pita and wahoo tacos, which were both amazeballs. The wahoo sammich comes with creamy avocado and that just pulls the sammich together beautifully. If you are trying to go lo carb then get the wahoo tacos. In a town where everything costs waaay too much this was a great find. I got the achiote chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and my partner for the bison burger. We both really enjoyed our meal. The food was flavorful, the portions were generous, and the guy who took our order was friendly. The only negative was that we waited 25 minutes for our food because the kitchen didn't get our order.. at first I was quite irritated but when the employee brought out our food he brought me a kombucha fresh from the tap and my partner got a beer. It definitely helped me forgive the mistake. I don't know if I'd ever come to aspen again but if I did, this place is great! read more

I came into 520 Grill looking for a quick, cheap, quiet, and casual sit-down lunch. The space is very small, but it's nice to get off of the beaten path in Aspen. I ordered the bison burger, which was about $10 with tax. The burger was very juicy and tasted quite delicious. However, I asked for medium rare and was provided with an extremely rare burger. It was all pink, which isn't exactly my favorite way to eat a burger. Overall, fine for a quick lunch. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but the burgers are priced comparably to other burger places in Aspen and good. read more

We were totally starving after our long drive to Aspen and 520 Grill totally hit the spot! Located in the heart of Aspen, 520 serves up some bomb food. Whether your getting take out or sticking around for a beer and a burger, this is the place to get some delicious, cheap cuisine. Basically, 520 has a large board of options to choose from. From tacos to burgers, they have a lot to offer. We ended up going with the wahoo fish tacos and a bison burger. We sipped on a couple beers at a nice wood table while waiting for our food and the grill was already starting to smell heavenly. Our food was delivered to our table in no time and it looked spectacular. Without hesitating, we dug in. The wahoo fish tacos were incredible! The fish was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful smoky flavor. The salsa and slaw that was piled high on the tacos was delicious. The bison burger was equally as good, (messy, but good). They added mushrooms and caramelized onions to it, which just made the burger even more delicious. The house fries were crunchy and had excellent seasoning. We ate everything, down to the last morsel. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Aspen and looking for a good burger. The customer service was good and the food was amazing. Excited to find a delivery place with decently priced food. Ordered a burger on a brioche bun, and got one on soggy multigrain bread. Ordered a quinoa bowl but asked for no avocado because of an allergy, and got so much avocado jammed in the dish you couldn't even pick it out. Also paid extra for added tempeh, but didn't get any. I didn't realize this was a counter/take out style place when I decided to come but I'm glad I gave it a shot. There's no waitress but plenty of seating and it was nice and warm inside. I ordered the salad that has grilled corn on it (forget the name) and added jalepenos and grilled mushrooms. The mushrooms are cold and seem marinated-and were delicious and very filling. My salad came topped to the 9! It was so yummy. The grilled mushrooms definitely help make it very filling. It was exactly what I was in the mood for. They even serve beer on tap (but I had tea). I had the Bison Burger with bacon (at least there was supposed to be, but wasn't) and Sweet Potato Fries. The Bison Burger was juicy, meaty and covered in cheddar with leaf lettuce, red onion, and ripe tomatoes. The food was tasty, but too salty. My combo came with a drink with a selection including coconut water, but apparently was not included and extra after the fact. To sum it up, the burger was good, but fries were too salty and getting burned without the bacon I ordered and surprise that a drink that was offered was extra after the fact and paying it could have been a better experience. read more

520 Grill is one of the best and most affordable lunch spots in town. Nestled downstairs at the Fat City Plaza building on Cooper Street, the meals are prepared quickly and taste great every time. The space is very casual, share a high-table with a stranger or sit at the wood booth or tables and chairs along the wall. I always get the burger with Bleu Cheese and Bacon, but a year and a half ago I went through a phase where I was eating the Grilled Chicken Pita, which is super healthy and very flavorful. The gentleman who runs it, his name escapes me, is a very friendly guy, I always see him around town and we always say hello -- Even though I only know him from 520... It's a wholesome and friendly spot where you can stay and hang out as long as you like (Board Games provided by the establishment!) We wanted to get something quick to eat without having to make reservations so we walked down a flight of stairs on Cooper Avenue to this appealing casual restaurant. Service was attentive and prompt and the eating area was noticeably clean and open. I chose the grilled veggie pita which was crammed with flavorful squash, mushrooms, peppers, and onions, topped with avocado, in a fresh pita. Not disappointed! Came to Aspen for a weekend getaway and saw yelp reviews for 520 Grill so went there for early dinner at 5pm. Ordered the bacon bison burger an wahoo tacos with side of sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked perfectly to medium rare and was very flavorful and juicy. Wahoo tacos had nice slaw and pico and were tasty and not overlooked. Came into town post hike with my girlfriend and the original place we tried to go to was closed. We got on our phones, Yelped these guys and decided to give them a shot based on good reviews. We were not disappointed!!! Food: My Bison B&B was amazing. I almost never get burgers cooked as rare (I call it "chase it around the table rare") as I like them, but these guys NAILED it. My girlfriend's was a perfect med rare. The toppings were very fresh, and the secret sauce was delicious. We both chose the sweet potato fries for our side, and holy mackerel, were they amazing; thick cut, fried to perfection, and just the right amount of sea salt to make the flavor pop. The canned beer selection was decent enough to make choosing an IPA tough, and even had some local selections (Aspen Brewing Co). Staff: The staff was helpful during ordering; also very friendly and took the time to come out and ask how everything was while we were eating (impressive being a 2-man walk up and order type place). Price: Was a little spendy for a post-hike burger and beer (~$40 for a burger, a beer, order of fries each), but by Aspen standards, I'd say "very reasonable" especially for the quality. Overall: I have a new default burger joint in town, and would ABSOLUTELY recommend 520 Grill to friends and family traveling to or through Aspen. read more

Giving the rating as great bc they just opened for breakfast which many people don't know. Just a few dishes on the menu but they are fantastic. It's a quick in and out so you can gran it fast before hike or ski instead of sitting and waiting in a restaurant. Can even take to go. God, the fries are great, and so is the bison burger. 520's tucked away in the base level of the building, so it's nice and quiet. Tourists will be coming in every few minutes asking if it's a pot shop (which is next door), and it's rather entertaining watching them politely answering the same question over and over. read more

We ordered the bison burger and wahoo tacos and both were very tasty and plenty of food for lunch. The staff were friendly/helpful... The burger came with all the fixings and fresh cut fries. The tacos (3) came with a nice amount of fish, slaw/cilantro toppings. Neither were short on toppings or taste. Next time in Aspen, we will hit 520 grill once again. read more
