We ordered takeout. The food was horrible. Wonton soup meat had to be a couple of days old---greenish color---we threw it out. Pork chowmein tasted horrible. We had to throw that out also. Ordered food from another restaurant. Las Cuatas which owns a couple of mexican stores is operating CHINA PALACE. Do not waste your money. I hope they close the doors soon as it was a waste of money. Literally the worst Chinese takeout i've ever eaten. Super expensive, and they give you lot but i would barely consider this food edible. I never make reviews but i want to make sure nobody has to go through what i went through. Eating this food put me in a bad mood. Walnut prawns are soggy and taste like thick mayonnaise. All the fried meats were over cooked. The rice was super dry. Staff seemed nice though. The restaurant was empty and they were blasting Mexican music since nobody was there. On some online forums everyone was saying that China Palace was sold to new owners and it went down the drain. I didn't believe it. I figured that they would have the same recipes IF they did sell. Nope. I ordered Broccoli Beef $15.95, Shrimp chow mein $16.95, chicken fried rice $14.95 and roti canai $9.95. They do not have the same recipes, nor do they answer the phone. I ordered online and the menu has changed. You can no longer get shrimp fried rice or combo rice or chow mein. When my daughter went to pick up the order she said they were very unorganized and didn't know what was what. The beef and broccoli went into the trash, it was like they used steak-ums and overcooked broccoli, terrible. The shrimp on the chow mein tasted like they just boiled it and put it on the noodles. No flavor. The rice was, eh. Sad that this place has become what it has. I don't doubt if it closes down in a few months. read more

My wife and I had luncheon specials today. Only one other table was occupied. My wife had broccoli beef and I had garlic green beans and chicken. Neither plate tasted like beef or chicken. Their fried rice was tough and seemed to be a day old - at least. When the served returned and saw we had a log of food on our plates, she asked if we wanted boxes to take with us. I asked for the check and told her the food was about the worst Chinese food we have ever tasted. Neither one of us barely touched the food. Recently dined at this place when I visited my parents with family in morgan hill. From the moment we walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and service set the tone for a fantastic meal. Each dish was a burst of flavor, the chef's prawns was presented nicely in a "hot pot" dish, very tasty lightly fried big shrimp in special sauce with just the right balance of sweet and spicy! we are big fan of shrimp so we ordered the walnut shrimp too, crispy on the outside in white sauce and meaty on the inside, yumyum. The House fried rice is big portion it's different from other regular fried rice out there. The eggplant in brown sauce is very flavorful. The restaurant had a cozy yet elegant ambiance, relaxing. The worst Walnut Prawns! It was some kind of minced shrimp in some kind of paste then batter fried! Large enough helpings. Service was just ok. There's nothing worst than wasting money of food that lacks taste. I want to say this as politely as possible. The food was not good. It lacked seasoning, oil, and may I say-- msg. Add some salt or something to it. The soup I bought was a starch slurry, chow mein I bought was dry, and the dim sum was like eating an unseasoned pie. I got the lunch special and finished it for dinner. All was delivered piping hot and packaged great for take away. The restaurant has been remodeled and updated. Came in last night, 1/23/2025 at around 6:45 pm. With recent new owner/management, I am really rooting for this business to make it. Just needs more training/improvement on service. Customer Service can make or break a business. The food and price are very comparable with other local Chinese/Asian resto in MH. Ambience is above others. Kudos to the two teenagers working hard and their best in the dining room operations. One was in training, shadowing the other that was literally running across the place to attend to everyone, walk ins, diners, phone/ mobile orders, etc. I initially phoned to order, but was on placed on hold & forgotten. Drove over and ordered in person, instead. Observed the situation and remained understanding and kind. I still tipped 30% on a sweet & sour fish, single take out order that took a bit to be ready. The food was delicious and portioned satisfactorily. People sacrifice a lot to make their dreams of owning a business come true, Don't be quick to rate low and bash on social media. I'm pleasantly surprised! We unexpectedly found this hidden gem that serves authentic Chinese food. The essential flavor of wok-hay really carries thru their menu: the delicious pineapple fry rice, salt & pepper fish, and black pepper beef rib. Everything is freshly fried from the fryer! The honey walnut prawns, sweet and sour pork are crispy and moist on the inside. You could really tell each dish is made fresh to order! The quality of ingredients really shines thru. The shrimps they serve are GIGANTIC, almost to the size of a small lobster. This place is not just good for takeout, but it has a great ambiance to dine in as well! The soothing classical music, the comfy leather seats, an open bar table for big parties. This place has its own parking lot, which is a BIG plus for me! My husband and I have been coming here for over 12 years. When I came the restaurant it was empty. I thought it might be traffic. My husband was stuck in it, so I ordered our usual, honey walnut chicken, honey sesame beef, beef chow main and beef fried rice. They said they didn't do a fried rice with just egg we had to order meat. That should have been my first clue. The staff was different. I ordered egg rolls while I waited. The chow main had 2 pieces of broccoli and 2 pieces of carrots. It used to have way more vegetables. But the worst was the honey sesame beef it was so salty it hurt my tongue. I asked for it to be remade, and it came back just as salty. I have read other reviews about it being salty. I asked the server if the restaurant was under new ownership, and she said yes. The 2 workers hung out in the other room and really didn't check on us. They didn't have the traditional Asian beers. They had a lot of Mexican drinks, which made no sense being a Chinese restaurant. And worse of all both my husband and I were sick all night. We both didn't eat lunch and were fine before we ate dinner there. We will not be going back. When I tried to call the store to see what happened the woman was extremely rude and didn't care that order was unsatisfactory. So sad to say I won't go back here again. Absolute worst service and owner obviously could care less. Waitress who barely spoke English said "only my 2nd time here" had no idea how to wait tables. With only 2 tables with customers it took over 45 min to get food- which was the wrong order. Sent it back & after another 10-15 min got our food. The food was very tasty but not worth all the fuss. I ordered last night and they told me 35-40 min. I ended waiting more than an hour. All the food was tasteless and the service was horrible. Even adding soy sauce didn't make the food much better. I ordered their beef specialty and the beef consistency look like it had been chewed before. I got the mixed chow mein and it had so little noodles in it, more vegetables and all the meats and vegetables were tasteless. The only somewhat decent plate was the honey walnut shrimp. The lady owner is rude to customers and staff and she has no sense of urgency or courtesy. honestly, Panda Express is better! Please bring some good Chinese food to MH. True hidden gem in Morgan Hill just 1 block away from downtown.  we had a party of four for dinner: - Fried jumbo prawns,  MUST try! - Hot and sour soup, very appetizing. - House special basil fried rice,  excellent aroma, with big shrimps ! - Chicken chow mein, turned out we ordered one more haha - Mongolian beef,  thought that it's just a regular dish, but tastes surprisingly good! - Peking spare rib, wow really like the sweet and sour taste.
