I haven't taken my vehicle in for service yet (I have an appointment scheduled), but the reason I am rating them 5 stars already is purely based on their customer service. I tried calling other shops in town and either got no response, was laughed at when I started asking questions, or the pricing wasn't as competitive. From the first call yesterday, Debbie (I believe) was patient, kind, and thorough. She priced out different options for me and gave me tips on how to optimize the services. Personable, knowledgeable, experienced and honest! Can't say enough good about them other than just what shops nowadays should offer but don't! I took my Jeep to 4 other local shops one of which specializes in off-road vehicles but couldn't find a thing wrong related to my bouncing steering wheel. Within just a couple hours Danelle (sorry if I misspelled) gave me a call and told me what exactly was causing the issue. 4 shops! Now of them could figure out my rack and pinion needed to be replaced. They got on it and I had my vehicle back next day. Again I can't say enough good of Simmons auto. I brought in a jaguar driveshaft. Joseph looked carefully at it and immediately took measurements of the u-joints to ensure I had the correct parts. He needed the flange from the differential which I was not able to get off quickly, so I used another service. My point is that Joseph is very scrupulous and cautious when addressing a job and i would feel confident in his abilities and approach. read more

Not so good this time around. Horrible communication (I left two phone numbers, was told I would be contacted around 11. No. At 12:30 called, someone took my name and number. Didn't hear a word. At 4 I called and didn't really seem like my problem was diagnosed. Nothing was actually done or worked on. And since place closed at 5, not much else to be done. Was really impressed by intake of the vehicle at appointed time, and by prompt communication by phone and by email of the results of inspection, and the plan for repairs. Seemed to be straight shooters, and did not add on a bunch of extraneous unnecessary repairs, which must have been very tempting in my 16 y/o Suburban with 325,000 miles on it. Repairs seemed to have been done well. I would definitely use this outfit again. Had a VERY unprofessional experience with a differential service place that is nearby--made me drive across town for 30 min for scheduled appointment, and then never got to my car TWICE! I am the original owner of a 1988 Ford Ranger with over 230,000 miles. Last year, Simmons found and permanently fixed a faulty fuel delivery system that three other shops could not diagnose. This month, my truck began making a strange noise that sounded like a very loud tea kettle. But it only did it at idle and not under acceleration. I checked every belt and accessory to no avail. The Simmons technicians used smoke to check the induction system and quickly discovered a leaky intake gasket and a crack in the PCV hose. Great job guys! They also changed out a rust clogged radiator and didn't charge for the flush or coolant as it was covered under Simmons' 24 month warranty. They had done some work last year that required a coolant change. Now my truck is running better than it has in decades. read more

Brought vehicle in for a glow plug and a thermostat, after they worked on it somehow needed two batteries and a starter. These folks are about as bad as I have ever seen. Will not in any circumstance recommend or return to this place of business, if I ever get out of here. read more

Well let me just say that this might not be the cheapest place to fix your 4X4 but after this I will say that they are very thorough and professional. They give you a list of things to fix and advise you as to what is critical and what is not. They work with you and are very professional about it. I will have to say that they did miss one thing that I took it in for originally but probably due to them fixing something that they assumed would fix the problem. I do think that it should have been caught before I picked up the truck and drove home necessitating another trip to their shop. BUT, and a big BUT, it was corrected the second time at no charge which I didn't even have to argue for...This is what I call customer service. Mike was a consummate professional in all my dealings with him...Good Job guys, the truck drives beautiful and hopefully for another 3-4 years!!! read more

As a first time customer, I was very satisfied with my experience. Unfortunately, a defective part caused me to return my vehicle to the shop for replacement. However, Mike saw to it that the part was quickly replaced, provided me transportation to and from home and handled the matter very professionally. STEER CLEAR!!! I had a 4 wheel alignment done and the rear tires were wearing on the inside. I took it back and they aligned it again under warranty (had to take a day off of work). Apparently they were too busy so they farmed out the work to "Chewy's Chop Shop" and they left a bolt loose which ruined a $270.00 tire on the left rear that was only a week old. Took it back AGAIN, (another day off of work) and they admitted to leaving the bolt loose and replaced the tire but refused to compensate me for any time off of work. I talked to Wade on the phone - he was condescending and short with me. Wade really needs to take some customer service classes. Mike was the staff there that I had to deal with - he is impossible to have an intelligent conversation with and doesn't even know the proper terminology for alignment parts. They also tried to convince me that my oil was old and black when it had been changed 3 days prior to the second visit. I actually had to show Mike the dipstick before he would believe me then his response was "I don't know what he was talking about". GO SOMEWHERE ELSE - ANYWHERE ELSE!! read more

Terrible customer service. We only asked for TWO things to be replaced (cooling fan and radiator if needed). They gave us a outrageous bill of almost 1500 that included what we did not ask to check, also wanted us to pay for them to clean the "mud out from the undercarriage." We walked out, but not after the manager started yelling at me, after I made it obvious he was ripping me off. We looked at the undercarriage, there was little dirt on it which was not worth 150 dollars to be cleaned. Never will recommend this place to anyone nor will we return to them. read more
