My Maytag fridge stopped working after just 6 years. I called Sears Home Services to check it and the Sears technician told me that the fridge is leaking freon inside the sealed cabinet wall that is unrepairable. We have ordered a new fridge but were very upset that we have to throw away our expensive Maytag fridge that still looks very new just after 6 years of use. So we wanted to call another repair service to check again. And luckily we found Simon Appliance. Simon came immediately after couple of hours after we called and he told the fridge can be fixed. It was just the compressor starter that got defective and needs to be replaced and that is a very common problem in any fridge. When I mentioned about the "freon leak" that Sears technician diagnosed, Simon went on to check the pressure of my fridge and assured that there is no leak. After the compressor's starter got replaced, the fridge is working perfectly again. We cancelled the order of new fridge and very happy that Simon helped us save thousands of dollars. We will definitely call Simon again for any repair need in the future. And don't forget to get 2nd, even 3rd opinion on any expensive repair/replacement. You might have to play some more money for additional service calls, but you want to be sure that you don't have to spend a lot of money for new appliance even though you can repair the current one for much less. read more

We remodeled our kitchen about 17 years ago, and put in good quality GE and KitchenAid appliances. And we cook all the time. Well, models change, dimensions change, and if you can't fix an appliance, you find yourself having to find a carpenter to modify openings, and a painter to finish them, or your appliances suddenly don't match, and its a bummer. That's where Simon Appliance comes in. They have just been great to work with in keeping our appliances going, despite all the heavy use. They saved our 42" refrigerator with a new compressor and then replaced the seals. They've twice spent a lot of effort to repair a micro-wave that is no longer made, nor would a replacement fit in the existing opening, and have worked on our oven as well. These guys really know how to fix things, and are willing to stay with a problem 'til they fix it or its just a hopeless case. Their prices seem reasonable in relation to the effort. We try to repair items rather than dumping major appliances in land fills or wherever they might end up. We think a lot of repair shops would have simply told us our items were too old to be fixed, or parts couldn't be found, etc.. Somehow, these guys do it. We called Simon on a Monday about our non-functioning Maytag Neptune washer (that is not a rap on Maytag Neptune. The washer is 8 years old and seen pretty heavy use). He arrived within 30 minutes and diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes at no charge. He was very honest and stated that it could be one of two electronic components. He informed us that there was an 80% chance that he correctly identified the faulty component, but he could be mistaken and it could turn out to be the other part. He gave us the price for the likely part, said he would have it the next day and install it. He also said that if the part was not the faulty one, he would return it at no charge and order the correct one. He returned the next day, installed the part and had the washer operating within 15 minutes. Here is the best part. I had done a lot of online research about Neptune electronics and I had fair idea about what parts and repair would cost. Simon's total bill wasn't anywhere near the costs quoted online. I have been using Simon Appliance for years now.. and I can not say that i have ever been disappointed or let down. Just recently, my fridge at home broke... i called Simon, at 10 am he came same day (big plus!) to look at my fridge.. as soon as he walked in he remembered being at my house before, very welcoming he asked how my family was(which is rare appliance people usually have NO personality) after, all the small talk he toke a second to play with my dog I have, which is a plus because a lot of times when i have someone come to my house I have to lock my dog up in one of the rooms. After looking at my fridge he was able to fix and service the problem in record time! That is not the only thing they are great at fixing.. a few months back my dryer started making a weird noise, once again after searching yelp, i came across him. He came in a very reasonable time, fixed my appliance and left me a happy camper! I first called Simon Appliance when my mom was having a problem with her refrigerator ! Simon came out right away and fixed the problem !!! Everything was great and we were very satisfied!! While he was out here we were talking and he had mentioned that he also fixed and sold refrigerators at a reasonable price. I had told him I might be needing one soon for my rental condo . When my renters told me the refrigerator was leaking I thought right away about Simon !!Let me tell you this guy is fantastic !!! He really made my day !! I went and picked out the refrigerator I wanted . Simon cleaned it ,checked to see what new parts it would need and kept it until the next day to make sure it would work with no problems. I've called Simon Appliance before, and I've always been happy with their work! Last week, I noticed the freezer wasn't making any ice. I called, and Simon and his partner came out within an hour. The freon had all leaked internally, so they recharged it and attempted to fix the leak. An hour later, I had ice again and the fridge was cold! I got a voicemail from Simon the next day (on a Saturday), as he was checking to see if everything was working. I'd been out all day, so I checked, and no ice. He came back again, same day, and recharged the freon/attempted to repair the leak again at no charge. Unfortunately, a day or so later, it became clear that this was an issue that could not be repaired, and replacing the compressor was going to be almost as expensive as getting a new refrigerator. So, I told Simon and he offered to come over and take my old one away (at no charge) and give me a refund for his labor since he couldn't fix it! While I hope getting a new one will eliminate the need to call for refrigerator repairs, I would definitely call Simon again for other appliance needs! read more

My Sub-Zero refrigerator was not working, and I found Simon Appliance on YELP!! (LOVE YELP). I called his # and spoke to someone directly...that was amazing since it was a Sunday!! I stated that my Sub-zero freezer was not freezing properly and they told me the estimate is free with the repair, plus parts. I gave them my address and the technician came and did a FAST & CLEAN job with a very reasonable price. What I liked about Simon Appliance is that they came out within the time they said, and the best part of it was that I got same day service!! Simon himself came diagnosed my sub-zero refrigeration, I can tell he was very knowledgeable in sub-zero refrigeration. I asked if he was certified and he said he has his EPA license as well as, he specializes in Sub-Zero and Viking. So I knew I was in good hands. The part arrived 3 days later and he called me and asked when I was available for him to return and finish his work, while he was her he serviced my sub-zero refrigerator as well as fixed my freezer. Simon and associates were absolutely wonderful! The initial consultation, (which Simon was so sweet to come after-hours since I got off work late) to look at the fridge took only 15 minutes and he informed us that our fridge had to be replaced. He also noticed the compressor was burnt out and before he left, he unplugged the fridge for our safety. The next day, he let us come to his warehouse to check out the refridgerators he had and it was during the weekend when the warehouse was closed and he was so nice to open his doors at our convenience (since both my roommate and I work during the week). That same exact day, they brought the new fridge to the house, installed it quickly and cleanly and provided us with some comedy during the whole installation process. Simon came the same day I called to repair my LG Dryer. He arrived at exactly 4pm as he said he would. He thoroughly checked out the components , diagnosed the problem correctly and had the part the next day. After taking the dryer apart and installing the new part in a very difficult position, he discovered a small part had not been put into the box which was the LG part. He put everything back together to leave a neat area and came back the next day and spent another 1 1/2 hours fixing the dryer. He only charged for the original labor estimate, despite spending more than twice the time to fix it. Then he told me not to pay him for 5 days. Real Low price on parts and labor, Same day service, and a great Warranty! I was sold!! And he cleaned my Condenser chemical for FREE (Which I had no idea but is required twice a year by SubZero Manufacturer) Now, because of his honesty I will be calling him once every six months for my sub zero maintains!! I had a dishwasher problem that I tried to fix myself and ultimately needed to call in a pro. I found Simon Appliance through a web search and confirmed his legitimacy through Yelp. 1. We made an appointment and he arrived right in the middle of his 1 hour window. 2. He had my dishwasher issue, a faulty fuse, resolved within about 10 minutes. 3. Then I showed him a problem I had with my stove and he diagnosed that one, a broken spark igniter, in just a couple of minutes. Neither problem was particularly challenging to find, but Simon arrived on time, found the issues, advised on parts and was gone in less than 30 minutes. When I saw the pessimistic reviews on Yelp, I was SHOCKED! People should really take a look at the "filtered reviews" yelp can be funny at times. I've had Simon Appliance come out on 3 separate occasions, Sub Zero Refrigerator Dryer Maintenance on my Sub Zero Refrigerator And the service has been reliably exceptional every time. These guys are great! Slightly cheaper then other Appliance Repair Service Companies, knowledgeable, fast, and fair! They charge a min visit charge of $40 that will compensate their employment & parts. I highly recommend Simon Appliance. I initially found him in the phone book when my oven wasn't heating properly. He arrived at exactly the time he promised (no 4 hour time window that you usually get) assessed the problem and made the repair. He actually had the part in his truck! I kept the magnet he gave me on my fridge, and when my microwave stopped working, I called Simon right away. Again, he came when he promised. We called Simon about a year ago and we had a great experience so when we were having difficulty with our refrigerator we didn't hesitate to call him again. We called his number on Friday night and left a message and he called back within an hour. We set up an appointment for Sat morning between 9:00 and 10:00am. I called Simon Appliance on a sunday after my washing machine flooded my garage. I was suprised that Simon answered the phone and it did not go to a recording. I asked if he could come out on a sunday and he said he would be there in a couple of hours. He arrived on time and found the problem in a few minutes. I found Simon on the Internet. I called this company to repair my LG dishwasher and Whirpool washer machine. I was surprised at the expert knowledge and professional approach in fixing these appliances. After they inspected the problems, I was told there were two parts needed for these appliances, one of the parts they had with them and the other they had to obtain the following day.
