We were having a problem with our oven's broiler coming on when the oven was set to convection bake. The guy from SJ Appliance Repair that was sent to us by our home warranty provider arrived and didn't speak enough English to understand the problem even though we tried to explain it. He then left, saying he needed to order a part. Over a week goes by with no follow up from him and every single phone call went unanswered and unreturned. Called the home warranty company back and they told me he reported to them the oven had no trouble found! So now the home warranty company will hopefully send us a reputable repair person to the house. read more

I had a really disappointing experience: I was connected to SJ Appliance Repairs through my insurance company, and they came out to look at my dishwasher. The technician checked the outlet and power cable, then opened up the front of the dishwasher. He told me that the issue was a control board, and that he'd let me know when he had the part. I heard nothing back about the dishwasher, so I called the insurance company and was told that the technician's report said there was animal damage on the wires on the back of the unit, so the repair wasn't covered. I contacted SJ Appliance Repair since this is not what the technician told me, and they told me that the technician was uncertain about the diagnosis and had asked for a second technician to be sent out. I asked SJ Appliance to contact the insurance agency and tell them that the diagnosis was unclear. At this point it went to a manager, who told me that the report had "already been submitted" and that the technician was now "pretty sure". I asked for a copy of the report but haven't received it. The whole experience has left me with a very bad impression: that SJ Appliance Repair told me and the insurance company two different things. I'm now still without a working dishwasher and a diagnosis. read more

My tenant reported cooktop not working and called Home Warranty to be connected to this vendor, SJ Appliance Repairs. Showed up to access the problem and said that parts will be coming in a few days. It has been 3 weeks and absolutely no updates, not answering phone calls nor return calls. Complained to the Home Warranty a big time, they tried to contact SJ Appliance Repairs and no response. Everyone is very frustrated and Home Warranty suggest that they will try to send another vendor after 3 weeks of valuable time wasted due to this individual. The phone number provided by the Home Warranty has been disconnected/not wokring number and I had to get the contact number from another source. read more

This company was sent to us through our home warranty. The first time, the issue was not repaired. The second time, we told the technician the leak occurs if you do not open the dishwasher mid-cycle, and it takes ~25 minutes. The tech said he only had 10 minutes, opened it mid-cycle, claimed there was no leak, and closed the request. Here we are two days later and it's leaking again. Completely terrible attitude and professionalism. If you can avoid them, please save yourself the headache. read more

SJ Appliance was identified by the home warranty company-and I didn't feel comfortable at the time as I have never used them before and I didn't really have a choice. And sometimes the one appointed by the warranty company has a lot to be desired based on my past experience. Long story short I was very impressed with SJ/Ilham and Alex. They called me within an hour or two once they've got assigned to set up the appointment. They were willing to work with me and be flexible on my schedule (which is a big deal). They showed up earlier and waited for me, told me the dishwasher control board needs to be replaced, set up the appointment the following day, showed up again, and got the Bosch dishwasher running. It's the process as smooth as it could possibly be. The most important thing to me is that people you work with are being proactive, keep following up, and show up at the time they said they would, and get the job done. That saves me a lot of time and headache as this is one thing off the list and I can keep moving on. SJ Appliance will come first in my mind regarding appliance repair.
