I eat a lot of tacos, and this was, without question, the best pollo (chicken) taco I've ever had. I was expecting the usual dry, bland, or overcooked chicken, but instead it was incredibly juicy, packed with flavor, and generously loaded with meat. Every bite was outstanding. The only downside was the wait time, but once the food arrived, it was easy to see why people are willing to wait. If you're a taco lover, this is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back.

*This review will be evaluated in four parts: food, service, appearance, and overall experience* 1.) Food: Absolute wonderful food! The steak and beef are the best on the menu! The quality of both products are wonderful; the steak is tender and the beef is soo juicy! if you dine in, a complimentary plate of tortilla chips is added. I think that's a great way to appeal to your customers. The burrito and super burrito are nicely portioned; I recommend the super burrito for sure! 10 bucks for everything on the burrito is a steal. The empanadas are to die for! They're packed with flavor and beautifully spiced! The food was wonderful, and I am returning for sure! 2.) Service: All the workers are extremely friendly! I was greeted with a cherry "enjoy your meal" and "have a wonderful day." Nowadays friendly service isn't required. Whenever I am at Chipotle I am always greeted very rudely, and the employees speak curtly. It was the complete opposite at Simon's! The cashier was polite and spoke with a beautiful smile, it only made my overall experience better. The only flaw I really have is that the wait is a bit annoying. The business just started and I'm sure that within the next couple of weeks the service will run smoothly. Growing pains are normal, especially for new and small business. I felt as though the wait was worth it, the food was delicious, flavorful and warm when I finally ate. 3.) Appearance: Simon's is newly updated with two smart TVs, newly painted walls, clean bathrooms, nice wooden tables with sturdy and sleek black chairs, and clean floors! This place is new so I was super excited to try it out! First of all, the food is great! I got a super steak burrito and it was delicious! I could tell that the steak was great quality and my burrito was wrapped to perfection! It took about 15 minutes to finish but the place was relatively busy--three people were in front of me and their orders were on the larger side. The girls working the register were very helpful and polite. I will agree with some of the other commenters, there can definitely be a little bit of a wait (even the cashier admitted that) but it's more a result of the place being so new than poor service. They're still trying to work out all the kinks. This place is also incredibly clean which is always a relief especially with small restaurants. I didn't feel like my table was dirty and the floor around us (we dined in) was clean. I'm definitely coming back and I can't wait for them to become a little more efficient because this place is definitely a gem in the neighborhood! And in my opinion, worth the wait! read more

My favorite spot for Mexican food in the area! I really love their pastor and shrimp tacos. They're very flavorful and you can't go wrong with them. The flan is also amazing and creamy. OMG, FINALLY A GREAT TACO JOINT IN THE AREA!!! I highly recommend the el pastor and steak tacos. They are on a bed of white corn tortillas, which are super tasty. For a little appetizer, my friends and I all ordered elote ($5 each). We all agreed that it was the best-tasting elote we have ever had. The corn was cooked perfectly, not too soft and not too hard, and there was a perfect measurement of lime, mayo, and cheese. It was amazing. We also shared chips and guac ($12). This was good and chunky but was missing flavor. It tasted fresh and you can tell it was made in-house, but all it tasted like was avocado with cilantro and onion. There was no pico on it even though the menu claimed it came on top, and it didn't taste seasoned or taste like any lime was in the ingredients. For dinner, I ordered a steak original burrito ($12). When I got my burrito, my first thought was that it was small and not filled very much. The steak was delicious and everything mixed well together, but there wasn't much in there to make it worthwhile. I must admit, the prices aren't too high, and $12 for a burrito isn't bad at all, especially because normally steak is a more expensive meat option. However, when I think about being able to get a HUGE burrito elsewhere, and I get half the amount of filling here, it's a bit disappointing. I have a picture of how I received the burrito attached to this review so you can see for yourself. One of my friends ordered the birria taco plate ($16) and she loved them; my other friend ordered a fish taco ($5) and an al pastor taco ($5), both of which she thought were pretty good. Overall, this wouldn't be my first choice of Mexican cuisine, but I would like to order something else from their menu one day, so I am sure I will return sooner or later.

The meat portions are generous with two tortillas. I got two asada and two lengua. They gave two salsa bottles, one green and one red. Both enjoyable but I liked the green one better - a little citrusy and good. Reminded me a little of Chipotle's green salsa (medium heat). The red one was smoky and spicier. The price point is a little expensive but I guess that's just par for the course these days. Oh well, still glad I got to try this place.

The tacos came with rajadas (grilled onions/jalapeños) and I enjoyed every bit of it. I'm going there tomorrow and the ordering the same thing, might add an extra taco. One of the best spots by far and from Cali. The owner was not only beautiful and warm but she was super nice and attentive. Definitely recommend!
