I love Simon's. Beware, it is almost always packed at lunchtime. If you like raw vegan, the vegan lasagna is out of this world. The specials are almost always great and the smoothies are super. I love going to Simon's. I suspect the bad reviews are because Simon tries to be all things to all people. The non-vegan stuff is only average. I stopped in for a chia tea on September 19, 2014. First, the woman behind the counter had an attitude as soon as I said that I didn't want a chai latte, just plain tea. She kept telling me how great the latte's were until I told her I had a lactose intolerance. Second, the cost of the chai tea for $4 and when I questioned this, the woman said they made the chai fresh and it was the best. I said that chai latte at Starbucks was over $4 but the chai tea was around $2. The woman then said that "Starbucks was shit." Since the drink was already made, I paid for it. I took it with me, drank about 1/3 of the cup and could take no more. It was bitter and nearly undrinkable. I would never go back to this pretentious, overpriced and under-delivered place. read more

The food here is made with so much love you can taste it! I love the atmosphere, every one is so sweet and friendly. The girls that all work there are a constant team and to see everyone working together is refreshing since most places don't have that same mentality. As there was a statement I saw about panera having better coffee than this place is kind of preposterous. I have been there a few times, and if you like weak coffee that has no flavor, go for it. Simon has his own blend of coffee from a local coffee joint, Java Dawg. If you are a first time customer, let them know! They love to help out any questions or accomidations you may need or require. Simon's is my family's weekend lunch spot and it never disappoints, staff and ownership are great and always make us feel welcome. They are especially accommodating to our 14 month old. The food is equally delicious and inspired. The specials are always enticing and the deserts are right up there too. The more recent reviews are foolish and and quite silly, some people are just negative and feel the need to spread their negativity, please stay away from my favorite lunch spot, as it is always a positive experience for me and my family. read more

Bitchy Waitress... This was my third time at Simon's, the first two times I just got a juice or smoothie to go and they were flavorful and a pleasure to drink, but my problem here is not with the food, but with a server named Kelsie who was very bitchy and rude to me and the others at our table. I was sitting with two other people for lunch on a bright and sunny day, and first off I asked for a separate check. This is important to me as I make my own money and I can certainly hold my own when it comes to a $10 salad. When it was time to order, I ordered a greek salad with no meat and no cheese and I actually saw her roll her eyes at me. My natural instinct was to confront her about her rudeness, but I thought better of it. Our meal was pleasant, though I do wish they had more vegan friendly options that don't include bread. When she brought the check, there was not a separate check for me (like I had asked for before I even ordered) but instead a single check for the only guy at our table. WTF lady?? I tried asking for a separate check again, but he paid for our food anyway. Really nice of him but so NOT what I asked for. He also left a large tip for Kelsie. He tips well, but it was so not deserved. After he left, it was just my friend and I at the table, and it was starting to get busy and she left to go to the bathroom. While she was gone, I got dagger eye stares from her because she wanted us to leave. She was pressuring me, and making me feel horrible about sitting at an outside table on a weekday after the bill was paid, just because she wanted more money! Very poor customer service. I have never been treated like that by a waitress before. I have friends who are waitresses and I am well aware of how hard they work, and what they have to put up with from people, but I gave her no reason to hate me. I got up to go to the bathroom as well, and two minutes later the table was cleared and half of my friend's smoothie went down the drain. I was happy to leave, and my friend was distraught with her. I don't deserve to be treated like that, and Simon's doesn't need its good name tarnished by her. read more

I'm a New Yorker, I live in foodie heaven and find myself dreaming about this gem. Whenever I'm in Sarasota I always visit Simon's. Amazing chicken salad, omelets, coffee, you name it and I bet its delicious. Being used to NYC service it is so refreshing to dine at Simons where they treat you like family. Simon and all the servers are incredibly hospitable...I should book my next trip down there so I can get my Simon's fix! read more

Not only does this place have the most delicious meat sandwiches (The Londoner roast beef and Santa Fe turkey are my favorites) but they're also very vegan/vegetarian friendly which is great for my girlfriend. Their juices and smoothies are fresh and tasty, the area is small but reasonable plus has outdoor seating and, if all this weren't enough, they have bottled beer AND two draft lines that always have something crafty on them! I met Simon and his wife once before and they're both incredibly down-to-earth. By far the best place to go in South Sarasota for breakfast and lunch. read more

simon's is delicious! i dined here twice while visiting my friends in venice. the healthy lemonade is refreshing, the greek salad came with spanakopita and i had a polenta dish with grilled veggies that was awesome! what i loved most is that they knew most of their customers by name and simon was on the premises on both of my visits. they will start serving dinner and beer/wine come july. the food is fresh and simple. absolutely delicious! read more
