The first time I went to Simon's it was for lunch on a Sunday at the Hibachi. We ordered filet Mignon and shrimp scallops, and lobster tail, ALL of the meat was bad, the rice was hard, the dishes had dried food on them, the counter where we were sitting was sticky. It ended up costing over $100 for rotten lunch. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt thinking that maybe they had a rough Saturday night and things didn't get taken care of and maybe their fridge had stopped working. Food is ok but the service is too slow- literally fell in asleep during waiting. And you will leave the place smelling like Hibachi!

Simon has a great ambiance and I've only eaten hibachi there, they give the basic show with the eggs and onion volcano which is entertaining and the rice is really good. I also go there for its night life, the peppermint mocha martini is really good and I heard the peanut butter one is also worth a try. read more

Made a reservation for hibachi at 7:00pm, still were not seated by 7:40pm because "the party ahead of you was very late" (if they were that late they should not have been seated period). Finally got a table for tapas at 7:50pm. The food is alright, if you don't mind waiting close to an hour to be seated. read more

I just love Simon's. The food is excellent and every time we go we are completely entertained and satisfied! The wait staff and cooks are all very nice and attentive. I would highly recommend making a reservation and enjoy a great meal. read more

Went there with my family for my daughter's birthday. We sat at the hibachi and had an blast. The chef was entertaining, the waiter attentive and pleasant, and the food was outstanding. This was a nice surprise to find in the Twin Tiers area. Very nicely designed inside. Small but inviting. The hibachi is nice, but if you've had it other places, the quality may leave something to be desired. Portions are nice for the price, however. Entertainment is typical - no more, no less. My family went to Simon's this evening. The food was fantastic. Our twin daughters enjoyed the performance by our performer/chef Andy I think his name was! The lighting was adequate. Our waitress was very polite and was a great server. I would def take our children there again. Though for 12.95 the kids sizes are bountiful. They ate more than they usually do and they are picky eaters. The food was perfectly flavored and so delicious. We will de f go back next time were up that way. read more

This is a surprising place to find in this sleepy little town. We had the tapas and they were good, not the best in the world but for the area yeah they were good. The prices were not to bad either but the beer selection was definitely lacking. If you are in town and want a decent place to dine in horseheads that isnt a franchise this is a good place to try. read more

has gone downhill. service has declined - particularly at the bar and the whole place could use good cleaning. there's brochures for local nail places on the bar, alot of the signs are handwritten and overall impression is tacky. Sake selection is non existent - two choices - rotgut or some blueberry flavored stuff. duh. Food selection is good, prices ok, and hibachi cooks are talented. I've dined only on the tapas side. I find the food to be quite good here. It is not, however, a typical tapas menu, and might best be described as small portions of Asian fusion. I think the place is above average for this area and the prices are quite reasonable. read more

I ordered a Kobe hibachi combo for takeout and when I went to pick it up, I noticed it did not come with the soup and salad yet their website mentions nothing about this. On their takeout site it says all hibachi dinners come with soup, salad, rice, and shrimp. Not only this but they charged me $31.00 for the meal when all that came with it was the hibachi and not the full meal with soup and salad. Their website lists the combo for $25.95 and when I looked at my receipt I saw they charged me for gratuity which is also not mentioned on their website. I told them I was not paying $31 for just the hibachi when their website listed that it came with soup and salad as well and wanted a discount. The bartender then went to the back and brought out a salad and said she wasn't able to bring the soup out because they didn't have to go containers and again, I said I wasn't paying for it. She then said she could put the soup in a styrofoam cup but it was illegal. I told her to do so and I left. Will be going to Wild Ginger or Mt. Fuji after this. read more

The food was good; we ordered a bunch of plates to share. It was ladies night, so half priced martinis for half the table was solid. The drinks were strong and our waiter was attentive. Not much to look at from the outside, but the food is worth it. Would definitely go back. read more

The most delicious hibachi food I ever ate! I tried other hibachi restaurants but I picked Simons as my most favorite of all.

Not really a sushi place. Red Lobster is better for seafood. Waiters are less than adequate.

My first visit to Simon's was yesterday to celebrate a friends birthday. We had a party of six and chose the hibachi side not the tapas side. We were seated with four other patrons, which was fun. I have only been to a hibachi steakhouse once before and find it very entertaining. One person in our party had a shellfish allergy and her food was prepared and served just before the rest of the table and was cooked on a clean grill, very reassuring. We all liked our meals, service was good and the prices were competative. The only negative is the parking for this restaurant is terrible, but that is in context to the rural area where we live. In a large metro area parking would be considered close. read more

Soooooo disappointed. The worst Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. All of these high-scoring guests need to try a real Japanese restaurant. The dressing tasted like Miracle Whip, the teriyaki sauce tasted like sugar syrup, and everything else was bland. It was just an awful, overpriced meal. read more

If it was possible to give no stars I would. Went there to celebrate for a friend with a group of eleven people and we were seated at the hibachi tables. Guess what? Hibachi tables don't seat eleven people per side so my spouse and I were seated in the NO MAN'S LAND region between two hibachi stations. Our friends were served by one waitress but we were assigned to a different waitress! Can you believe it? We were outcast from our own group of friends! Furthermore we were weirdly lumped in with the group on the other side of the table, all of whom were strangers we had never met before. It did not matter to either waitress or anyone else who worked at this restaurant that we had a problem being separated from our group even though we mentioned it twice in an attempt to get help fixing this problem. Totally. Weird. Experience! With the noise level It is virtually impossible to hear or speak to people seated on the other side of the table, so little did we know that their waitress offered a chance to order sushi and appetizers. Not our waitress. NO! She rushed us to order right away like she was playing Beat the Clock. She would not bring drinks when ordered, ripped our plates off the table when she decided we were finished, dropped the check lickety split without offering dessert or coffee, came back in less than five minutes to see if we laid our money down, and tried to have us finished and ready to walk out the door 30 minutes after we sat down while our friends on the other side of the table were just getting started with their soup and salad. She was in such a horrible hurry to clear and reseat her side of the table it seemed like she was in a race. I finally had to put my foot down and tell her that she already knew we were with the group seated at the other side of the table and that we would not leave and planned to sit there as long as they did while they ate their food. This made her very unhappy and subsequent dirty evil looks were shot our way, which was unfortunately timed, since we hadn't left a tip yet. HAHAHAHAHAHA! As bad as the service was, unfortunately the food was just as horrid. Additionally the place needs a deep cleaning. It stinks from the cooking grease and needs a new paint job inside and out plus new carpeting so please do not look down at the floor or your might barf. Also do not look at the filthy glass partition that separates the hibachi area from the back of the bar. It looks like it has never been cleaned ever...not once...which is even more disgusting when you consider that they prepare some of the food behind the bar right there by that disgusting dirty glass. This is usually one of our favorite spots to go to for a special occasion. We were very disappointed this past Sat. Evening (Jan. 6th). There was a group of 10 of us celebrating. The waitress took our beverage order, food order, delivered them and then we never saw her again until we had waited for boxes and checks. We were never served any soup which was supposed to be included in our meal. Our chef was less than personable. He almost seemed hurried. We had seen how much fun the group across from us was having as their chef was fun and entertaining. Ours never tossed food and never even offered Saki to us. The food was excellent though. When our waitress finally did return and we inquired about the soup, she chuckled. She did bring one to go container for one soup. It took forever to get our checks and to go boxes. Not impressive at all. As a matter of fact, we always tip 20 percent. However, this time we didn't feel it was deserved and did not. Luckily, we were amongst great friends and it was still a great night. Hoping these were new employees and not veteran staff. Would hate to see another place close down. read more
