Unethical company. Went in for a base break (root touch up); turned my entire hair a shocking color. Paid. Went back for a fix - turned my hair another shocking color in the opposite direction (stylist was angry). Did not pay. Went back to another stylist who got it just right but 3 colors badly damaged my hair, which they refused to rectify. Had to pay because they "couldn't keep giving complimentary service." They first publicly claimed on another review site they had no record of this; then they claimed that they gave me "three complimentary services." I have my Visa bill in hand. Paid 2x. Now they are just ignoring my requests for reimbursement. Prices are crazy, too. Can't get out of there for under $160. Not worth it. read more

My appointment was made to celebrate my girlfriends bday. We were getting pedicures together. We didn't get taken back together and I had to wait an additional 12 minutes past my scheduled time for my chair and my friend was taken back spot on time. It was rather annoying to have to wait up front for her, then I felt very rushed especially at the end when the next appointment showed up and she wasn't done. It really bothers me when the stylist uses their fingers to remove nail polish and I feel like after looking at my nails it was a very inexperienced person, and would never pay $70 for that again!! Also my girlfriend was done before me and had to get out of her chair for the next person, whats the point of scheduling appointments together if you aren't going to be able to enjoy them together? I probably wouldn't recommend this place to my friends for this type of service . I am really disappointed because I didn't feel like I could relax. Also for $70 service I shouldn't have to look at a bunch of storage containers and bottles of junk laying around on the table in front of me. Really terrible service. Not worth the money- plenty of better places to go in the area. Staff were deceiving in the way they sold their services, only knew how to speak off the script, didn't know how to answer questions, really not helpful at all. I've never had a positive experience there and haven't spoken to anyone else who has. There may be a couple of great individuals providing services here as some reviews suggest, but why go when the rest of the experience is so negative? I am not impressed at all. I get my hair colored and cut every 6 weeks since it is a short style and I am covering up some grey. I was new to the salon and my first visit with my stylist went okay, the color was a bit dull but I realize it takes a few times to get familiar. I stayed with this salon and stylist for 4 more appointments of coloring and cutting and it got worse and worse. There were mistakes with my booking time, the salon called me and asked to reschedule because the stylist was not available. So I rebooked only to get a call from the stylist asking why I wasn't there at my original time. What sent me over the edge was how rude the front desk was and on my last appointment the stylist cut my hair uneven and missed a main area of color around my temple. I had to go back and she apologized but at that point, I was done. There are so many other options in Maple Grove for salons and am now happy at Kalla Lilly. read more

My husband bought a gift card for a spa package for me as a birthday gift. I called to make an appointment and the receptionist said that I had to use the entire thing as a package and that they were booked 2 months out for the service. I wasn't able to commit to such a long time that far out, so I put off making an appointment. My husband kept asking when I would go and finally, nearly 2 years later I made an appointment. Upon booking the appointment, I found out that I could use it like cash and use it to pay for whatever services I liked. I got a massage and a pedicure and went to use my card to pay and the receptionist said that there was nothing on the card. She asked me where I had "found" the card. I asked what she meant by that and the receptionist suggested that I had found it on the ground outside the salon and treated me as though I were some scoundrel trying to get away with a salon heist. I have never been so humiliated and disappointed, not only being cheated out of nearly $200.00, but having to pay another $170.00 on top of that to be treated like a lying, cheating, thief by an 18 year old receptionist. My husband paid cash for the gift card and the receipt for it has faded away to nothing legible to prove that I am not a gift card thief. The manager was unwilling to be helpful in any way and so I must use my abilities to make sure that no one else makes the same mistake as me. Make sure to check your gift cards immediately to make sure they are actually activated. Otherwise, your receipt will fade and you will be treated like a thief for entrusting your money with them, meanwhile they are the thieves!! read more

This place would get 5 stars, except that I haven't used most of their services. The massages (loyalty package) are properly priced, massage therapists are very good, and I can get in with a few hours notice. I haven't found a place that offers all of these items better than Simmonson's. read more

Do NOT go to this salon, they do not care about your experience they just want to take your money. I went for a Bayalage. I was happy with the color but there was a bad transition on the right side so I asked to have it fixed. She fixed the bad transition spot but put a toner on my hair which changed the Bayalage color, so the part I loved about my hair was gone. She knew I wasn't happy but lead me to the front desk, said the toner color would fade and I was charged $85.00. I initially paid $166.00. So I paid $231.00 to have the same color as when I started. I asked to have a manager call me and dealt with a very inexperienced manager. Never did she ask what she can do to help, only listened to what happened and offered to have me meet with the color specialist so she can explain how color works or I can get 15% off my next service. I asked her to give me the $85.00 charge back since that service ruined by bayalage and she said absolutely not. I asked to come in and have more blonde put back in and she said no, I can only offer 15% off my next service. Isn't a repeat customer the goal? Why would I come back to a salon that just cares about the bottom line....Money. On top of it I wrote a letter to give to the Leadership team but there is no way to contact them. If you search you will never find a email address, their LinkedIn accounts are locked down. Your only recourse is to let other people know to stay away! read more

Simonson's in Maple Grove is great. I went in to have my hair cut and colored, and I was really impressed with the level of service I received everywhere in the facility from the moment I walked in the door. Addy is a fantastic colorist and stylist, and she was really patient with me as I showed her what I wanted (it takes several hours to color my hair and style it). The new location is beautiful, and everyone is really nice. I would highly recommend Simonson's to all of my friends. read more

I just came from my haircut appointment with Lindsey, it was GREAT! She listened to what I liked and what I didn't like about my previous haircut, didn't judge that I had gone to a cheapsie-type of place before and got a bad cut. Took the time to blow dry and even straighten my long, thick, unruly hair to make sure it all laid correctly when dry. My head still feels amazing from the scalp message. I will definitely be back! I walked out last night at 6 PM and was so relaxed that even the 1st snow fall didn't make me crazy. I had a gift card for Simonsons of 70.00; I had my roots dyed and less that 1/2 trim. It cost 120.00 and I gave her a 20.00 tip. I liked the woman who worked on me but I can't say I understand the bill. I had been quoted 90.00 to dye my whole head and was charged that much for roots only. I was charged 45.00 for a very quick trim and no blow out as I didn't want it and she had someone else waiting anyway. I was charged for a blow out. It seemed to me the time was exaggerated for each service. Add dollar signs if you go there. read more

I had some issues with miscommunication and it was handled professionally. Prices are a bit high but the work was great.

I came in for a easilength consult. The price I was quoted was OUTRAGEOUS! I do my research on items/services that are going to cost me a substantial amount of money upfront, as well as, to maintain. Per the Easilengths Pro website, they list the wholesale cost of their products with a suggested "retail" price that is double what the cost is for the product. Then after paying double for each box of hair (I was advised I needed at least 3 boxes), I was told that I needed to pay another fee, for installation, which is now TRIPLE the wholesale amount of the hair. On top of that, cutting/blending is not included so I was quoted an additional $60 for this. I was told this would take about 3 hours. The price I was quoted was $960, which obviously does not include a tip. This means that I would be paying $320 per hour (for 3 hours). Considering that each box (of 16" tape in's) only costs the salon $79.50 ($238.50 total), I as a client am being charged an extra $721.50 for 3 hours of the stylist's time. Again, this does not include a tip.... This is price gouging at it's finest and it's really disheartening to know that Simonson's would take advantage of client's like this. read more
