Got to get a little pamper today. Was much needed. They took me in as a walk in immediately. Appointments are strongly recommended tho. I got to sit and relax in the pedi spa. My go to as always for my pedi is French gel, same for my mani but with fade. The guy with the orange shirt today, did my pedi, and I believe, she's the owner or manager, she did my mani. They Worked on me at the same time. They are so gentle and caring to ask for the smallest things like if I wanted trim, cut, cuticle oil lol, if my French is good like thicker or thinner.... Me, sometimes, I no care, depends, as long as nice and done to me lol I trust they'll make look nice lol but I guess got some really picky/particular people. Oh my gosh it felt so nice getting massaged. The guy did my leg massage so good oh my gosh. Was much needed sorry, and the work, was good was nice. My second time here. First time I came, I had the younger boy, and was kind of like his first time too I think at that time, or was his first time for French. Was okay, but it got done. But today!!! VERY NAILZ & overpriced for what their nail techs can do. The only nail tech that can do whatever you pull up for inspo is the owner and the rest are just lounging around until their appointment. So walk-ins are not the best because they'll put their appointments first which should be expected if you didn't call to make an appointment. I've been going here since i was a kid, since before this became 'Simple Nails' and the customer service is crap. I only go to one nail tech which is the owner because the rest of the nail techs can do simple basic styles, but it's just so overpriced and it's frustrating when I'm asking for this and that with how I want my nails (as simple as my set was today) and the nail tech DOES NOT understand. I can only be patient for so long but i asked for a square shaped kateye and got almond shape and the shift of the kateye isn't the same as I've gotten before and she cut me with the drill a few times on my left thumb. If I am going to pay that much for my nails then it should be exactly how I want them. And after getting off the phone with the owner trying to explain how frustrating it is to pay for a $85 manicure when the nail tech wasn't giving that type of service or the nails weren't how I wanted them, the owner just proceeded to give me attitude. This place really is only good for helping and scamming the elderly, and I see why I don't really see any young ladies going there. I thought things would've went differently after speaking to the owner but she was okay with losing a loyal customer today. I don't like how she knows i am a loyal customer and i tip really good and the one time I make a complaint she wants to give me the attitude? Yeah I wouldn't recommend this place if you're in Waimānalo. Unfortunately it is the only nail salon in Waimānalo. read more

This is my second time coming here to Simple Nails! I went to Jessica and i think i'll be going to her from now on! She took her time and always asked me whether or not i was okay with my set as she was doing it! I appreciated that! They all wore masks, checked temperature and you have to sign a waiver when you go in! I think they should wear gloves when working but i can also see how that might not be the best for their work but then again i dont know. Overall, great experience! read more

Honestly, I'm only giving this rating because of the ease of making a last minute appointment. I used to visit this nail salon when it was Cutie Nails and it was much busier (even on slow days) and the staff was definitely more experienced and well-versed at their jobs. Visiting the newly taken over, Simple Nails, was not so great. Although we were able to sit down right away, the pedicure was really rushed. On top of that, trimming nails hurt, snipping cuticles hurt, the "massage" hurt. It was probably my worst experience. My daughter's pedi was done within 15 minutes, mine was done in 25 minutes but only because it took her almost 20 minutes just to "trim" my nails (which shouldn't have taken this long since I had a pedicure done just 3 weeks before). At the end of my visit my toenails were SUPER SHORT and crooked, nail polish was on my skin in various places and one of my toes hurt from the cuticle snipping, she cut my skin... it still hurt the next day, felt like a paper cut. read more

This establishment just changed owners and name but it's still a great place. Yesterday I had gotten a pedicure and after I left in my great fashion I ruined them. Today I came in to get a manicure and they did a great job. Then I asked if they could just fix my one toe that was more ruined then the others. The guy who had done them the day before said he would fix it and instead of just fixing the one he had redone the whole paint job and was so so kind about it! I was expecting to have a small fee but he did it for free! I tipped him and he genuinely refused. But I have it anyways! This is a great place! I am not one to blast on yelp but when I have a reason to, I will. When I moved to Kaneohe in 2013, I started to go all the way to Waipahu or certain salons in Kaneohe to do my nails because I expect good quality and durability. Since I moved back home to Waimanalo in 2020, I've been doing my pedicures at Simple Nails out of convenience and I've continued to go to Kaneohe or Waipahu for full sets so I'm very familiar with how to care for my nails and how long they should last and how durable they should be when done well. My sister and I did a full gel set here on 11/27 as a bonding thing for our grandmother's funeral last week since we are both from Waimanalo and this spot was where we always came growing up when it first opened and throughout the years as the owners and names changed until I moved of Nalo. My sister started her set before me but somehow I finished before her which I thought was odd but assumed that maybe she was just talking more than I was. About a week after, the top layer of the polish on my thumb and index finger nails started peeling and chipping and I thought it would be okay until I filled them in a couple weeks but it got worst over the past day. My thumb nail, where it started to chip is now cracking. My index finger nail completed teared off this morning, where the chipping and peeling started, when I turned the key in my ignition. Called to talk to the technicians where I typically go and they informed me that I should go back and talk to Simple Nails because my polish shouldn't peel off like that and it was likely not cured correctly and the polish may have been applied too thickly and didn't set correctly and it likely teared because it was too thin after it chipped. Called and talked to one of the staff at Simple Nails and she told me she will not fix it free of charge because it's been longer than a week and she doesn't know how often I wash my hands and how I care for my nails. I explained what the other technician said and informed her that this has never happened to me before and she again said that there's nothing she can do and I can get it repaired but I would have to pay full cost. I paid $S65 for this set with nothing special other than 2 simple accent nails and asked her why I should come back to pay when they didn't do it good the first time. She apologized and said that she can't do anything past a week and can't be sure how often I wash my hands. Thanked her and still was very respectful however I would not recommend this place because of my experience, the lack of accountability and just poor quality. My sister's nails are still fully in tact and her technician likely didn't rush through for her like mines did. Unfortunately, because of this incident, I will not be going here anymore not even for pedicures. They recently had a price increase as well and I understand inflation but it should never be at the cost of quality and customer service. read more

I've come to this place twice now. And while the prices are good, and it is a very simple shop, I just can't give it at good review. The first time, I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. The second time, I was supposed to get both but the pedicure was so bad I decided not to do the manicure. The place is not the cleanest and they don't seem to sterilize the equipment between customers. This was mostly a problem the second time because my pedicurist made my toes bleed at least twice. Then she did such a bad job painting my nails, I just had her take off the polish. But she couldn't even really manage that, and there is still polish left-- I left with my toes in worse shape than when I went in. The gel polish they used on my manicure when I got it the first time was so old it needed 5 coats. It peeled fairly quickly, again I think because it was old. They staff is very sweet and good natured, and the prices are low. It's also very easy to book an appointment. But you get what you pay for, I guess. I won't be coming back. read more

They charge you to cut ur fake nail and put a clear coat on top. 5-10 dollars more so it's not $30 . It ends up coming out to 45-55 dollars. They are a rip off and I am never going back there. Never heard a place charge for cutting ur fake nails and clear nail polish on for $5-$10 dollars more. I already told like 20 people not to go there . Well I've lived 2 min up the street all my life and usually go to a nail salon in town close to where I work but with covid and the state only now opening up my regular spot is very popular and unfortunately is booked out for weeks... it's hard to find someone to take care of my mani/pedi with a gentle thorough hand but I was recommended by a child hood friend to give our hometown spot a try so I did and was pleasantly surprised by Thuy and Rose who performed the service. She was gentle and thorough and took her time removing the last gel set, performing the pedi, sloughing, scrub, hot stone massage and with my sensitive feet n legs she was patient all the way through to putting on the new gel set! Absolutely loooved it! I see that they also have other services I go to other spots for like lashes, facial, waxing etc... might give it a try!Now that I work from home in the meanwhile after Covid I can easily stop here in between jobs... the convenience, level of service and price are hard to beat!
