This was my 3rd time visiting the establishment and I was finally able to try the Seafood Salad and it was good. It has a little kick to it as far as the spice level, but nothing to hot. Just a little something to wake up your taste buds. But I really enjoyed it. What else have I tried? Initially, I had the Ultimate Seafood Platter, that was just okay in my opinion. The best thing about it were the fried shrimp (6 pieces). There were 2 very thin pieces of lack luster fried Whiting, 5 hush puppies that were good, a crab cake and 2 very generous sides. I chose the mac and cheese and the greens. He had the Ultimate Fries that were topped with a generous piece of salmon, a generous amount of crab meat and a bunch of fries. I can't remember if it came with Shrimp or not though. Each of these meals were $32.99. My 2nd visit we had the Bumpin' Wings and the Smothered Turkey Wings (2) dinner over white rice with 2 sides. The wings were $15.99, I believe and were tasty but not enough of the sweet heat sauce that come with it. And the Turkey Wing dinner,I want to say was about $25. But I'm not sure. Of all of my purchases I have most enjoyed the Fried Shrimp, and now the Seafood Salad which comes in just one size and costs $19.99. I think the size is 16 oz. So my first impression was that it was crowded, slow, and food not so great and I was not the only patron that felt that way. However, a trip to the restaurant for the second crime on Friday has changed my outlook! I really wanted to love this establishment because I'm always excited to see another Black-owned restaurant open in PG County, especially one so close to home. I've visited twice now, and I wanted to give an honest review with both the positives and the areas that may need some attention. First, the customer service has been wonderful both times. Everyone was pleasant, welcoming, and professional. The restaurant itself was also clean, organized, and had a nice atmosphere. No complaints there at all. The difficult part for me was the food because I truly want to support and see this business thrive. During my first visit, I ordered the bumpin shrimp with fries and greens. The fries were really good, the shrimp was decent, but the greens were unfortunately much too salty for my taste. I decided to come back and give it another try because I know new restaurants sometimes need time to settle into consistency. On my second visit, I ordered the seafood combo with fried whiting, fried shrimp, crab cake, hush puppies, rice and gravy, and green beans, along with fried wings and the same sides. The whiting was actually pretty good, but the shrimp tasted like it may have been cooked in the same grease as the chicken, or perhaps the oil just needed to be changed. Both the shrimp and wings also could have used more seasoning. The crab cake was the most disappointing part for me because, being in Maryland, I had really high hopes, but it was overcooked and lacked flavor. The rice and gravy was again very salty, while the green beans had almost no seasoning or flavor at all. I'm sharing this sincerely because I genuinely want this restaurant to succeed. I recently visited this new soul food restaurant and it's already added to our list of favs. From the minute you walk in, the Maryland-inspired decor makes you feel the warm welcome. The servers were warm and genuinely friendly. The food was absolutely Amazing!! We ordered the crab dip, the turkey wings platter, the catfish platter, cheeseburgers w/ fries, and everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The desserts were a big hit too, especially the sweet potato cheesecake and the rum cake. Everything was delicious but the standouts were the crab dip, the turkey wings, and the desserts. Staff were very friendly, the restaurant appeared very clean, and the music selection was great. Food also came out hot but I did not enjoy it. I ordered the chicken cheesesteak, fries, and lemonade. It gave me "we got this at the house" vibes, basic carryout food with what tasted like salt and pepper seasoning. There was a decent amount of chicken but it was dry. I had to wait 30+ minutes to receive just two menu items when the restaurant was empty! Trying to give them grace because "atleast the food will be hot and fresh when I get it" - nope. Barely gave any crab on top either. Wings had almost NO sauce on them. Terrible. No one even apologized for the delay and that's what really inclined me to leave this review. Don't waste your time or funds. Extremely Long wait time. Confusion in the storefront (specifically line access and placing your order upon arrival) took far too long to place an order in person. No one was answering the phone lines today due to being "too busy" and online ordering was also shut down. All of the Food was bland. The 10 pc Old bay Wings were not seasoned fully. 3 pc Whiting meal was terrible and inedible. As soon as I opened the box it smelled overwhelmingly fishy. The breading was not flaky or crunchy or crisp, and the seasoning was non existent. I Didn't finish eating it for fear of getting sick. The Macaroni is clearly store bought/frozen and the collard greens taste canned. The mixed Drink was overly sweet and underwhelming. Went off a TikTok recommendation. It was aight but nothing to be like yea buddy. So I ordered two crab fries with extra crab meat on one, 3 piece whiting meal with collards and rice and gravy (with an extra piece of fish cause my husband doesn't like to share and I wanted to try it) salmon with collards and rice and gravy and hush puppies for me and my husband. When I opened that container with the fish, I was absolutely disturbed, 3 dollars for this tiny extra piece of fish...I was hotter than fish grease. Look at that photo and tell me why would they stick that in the box!!! The rice and gravy taste like the microwave uncle Ben's with that jar gravy and the greens were an interesting taste. The crab fries were cold than a brick but after reheating and scrapping the crab meat off (cause reheating the fries was a poor decision), I enjoyed the little addition of the scallions. Those were very fresh. The only saving grace was the fish was well seasoned and actually still hot, the salmon was good, crab and the hush puppies. The Mac had almost no cheese, the wings were soft and barely had any old bay. The spinach/crab dip was $6 more than advertised. The bumpin shrimp barely had any sauce on it. The sweet tea was nasty, tasted like if koolaid made a sweet tea flavor. The spinach/crab dip also tasted like they put a tbsp of crab in a Tostitos jar spinach dip. On 4/17/2026 has been calling the restaurant since 7pm to place an order, no one answered the phone I proceeded to drive to the carry out to place an order at 7:30 pm to be told they were shutting down there kitchen and would not be able to service what I was asking for which was a turkey wing dinner. The attempted to have me to purchase seafood salad is all the had to offer. If your hours state that you do not close until 8pm those hours should be honored and not try to get customers to purchase items that they did not ask for just to make money. It's sad to see this is why I do not support our black business b 'cause they do not support the community that there riding off there backs to keep there establishment a flit. I will not be patronizing them in the future . They need to have more customer relations skills b cause that was a 25 minute ride out of my wad and wasted gas in traffic and travel . NEW HIDDEN GEM ALERT IN WALDORF! Heard enough hype about this new place in the area so me and my family went to check it out and we're BLOWN AWAY by how good this food was! Fried shrimp with the "simply's sauce" was bangin. My woman had what seem to be the soul food meal of her life with the Turkey wings and a good side of Mac and cheese, and my son tore through the fried chicken wings and fries that he ordered. Our overall experience here was great. Not only was the food awesome but so was the hospitality, and overall cleanliness of the place. Thought I would give Simply 2 Delightful a try and I was sadly disappointed. The good first: I was greeted as soon as I walked in which was nice. Keep up the salutations when customers walk in. Now about the food. I ordered the fried whiting with French fries and hush puppies. The whiting was not fully coated/seasoned. The back side of the whiting did NOT have any coating/seasoning and most of the front side was not completely coated either and quite honestly it looked and tasted like it was dipped in oil and refried again because the whiting was not crispy at all. Didn't taste fresh at all. If the fish had been coated with seasoning on both sides and fried crispy it would've been a hit. I threw it away in disappointment. The fries had a nice seasoning to them but again they were not fresh. Seasoned well but hard and stale to taste. The hush puppies were decent. I also ordered the chicken wings. They were soggy under the wax paper or parchment paper and not cooked completely through. They were out of macaroni and cheese. How are you running out of anything in the middle of a grand opening? I waited 35 minutes for my food. It's always worth the wait when your food is hot, fresh and prepared right but time wasted that you can't get back when your food is not up to par. I also ordered the collard greens and they were ok. I was also told that my condiments were in the bag. Got home and opened the bag and there wasn't a pack of ketchup to be found.
