This Yelper here is normally based In New Jersey.... With a large (although not massive) group of mediterranean immigrants and restaurants. So not going to lie, when I heard 'Mediterranean' in Oklahoma, I immediately thought 'Ok this is going to be some watered down version for America'. I'd like to say sorry to my entire party for not trusting them initially. The food was absolutely fantastic end-to-end. I had the Chicken Shawarma which was a massive plate of perfectly cooked chicken, served with perfectly warm pita and a great 'yellow' rice side. Well, a massive plate for NJ Yelper here, I'm sure it's normally sized for an OK dish :) For dessert, I tried their Baklava which was absolutely perfect, being sweet but not too sweet. If you never gave Mediterranean Cuisine a try, I highly suggest beginning your culinary adventure at Simply Falafel. As for me, I'm on the search for a worthy equivalent in NJ now. read more

I just simply need the hummus and I can die a happy girl. That's all I feel like I need to review! The hummus. it's heavenly I can dip anything in it and it turns into instant gold. The actual restaurant is a nice size and very homey. The staff was pleasantly helpful and sweet when it came to answering any of the questions I had about the food. I use to go all the way across town to zorbas to get gyros and kebabs and now that I've found this little gem less than 5 mins away from my house I'll never have to travel across town for decent Mediterranean food ever again. What a wonderful place! My family and I keep coming back here because not only is the food amazing, but the owner, Magid, and his staff bring customer service to a while new level. This is an awesome place to get a quick Mediterranean meal that's a great price for the amount of food you get, and every bit of the food is delicious. Tabouli, hummus, gyro meat, pita, dessert... you won't be disappointed with anything. The menu has a lot of great options but isn't too complicated to understand, and I love how the platters include a side salad with the meal. I also love how they have photos on the wall where if you're not familiar with Mediterranean cuisine, you can actually see a photo of the menu items. The owner and staff are so friendly too, which really makes you feel welcome. My only tip- make sure to order extra pita bread! 3 tiny pieces of pita is not enough to devour a big ol' gyro platter. When I opened my to-go box at home and realized there were only three pieces, I had to figure out the best way to ration it. Needed a good place to eat while staying overnight in Edmond on a trip recently. My husband found Simply Falafel and it had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. We're glad we did! It's a small, locally owned restaurant in a strip center, but don't let that fool you.The owner, Magid, saw us looking at the many photos of menu dishes that were up on the wall and came over to see if he could help us choose what to order. After asking us a few questions, he said "I will bring you an assortment of dishes that you'll like." We decided to leave it up to him, and the most amazing food started coming to our table -- I can't even remember the names now, but one was the Greek salad and one was a chicken dish that was sublime, and dolmas and falafel ... honestly I don't think you can go wrong here. The food is all very fresh, and very healthy. No butter is used here, olive oil is used instead which is a very healthy oil. The falafel was the best we've ever had, and the chicken dish too. It was seasoned perfectly and was super moist. The food is reasonably priced, and Magid takes great pride in his food. He is from Syria so this food is authentic Mediterranean cuisine. He told us he worked in country clubs in the food end of things for 30 years, so he has a good background for owning his own restaurant. We will be eating here every time we come through Edmond, and you should try it too! read more

This is a family run business and the owner and family are very visible and accommodating. We bring our 10 year old with us and Majid (the owner) is always willing to go overboard and make him feel special. Do NOT miss out on the hummus as it is the creamiest I've ever had. I could make a meal of this alone. If you run out of warm pita bread, no worries as the staff will bring you more so that you can enjoy the whole appetizer. Most entrees come with a salad, and you can choose from a variety of options. I had a combo platter with falafel and gyro (lamb) that was cooked just right. I had a side of couscous. This couscous was larger than I've had in the past, but still great. My wife had a gyro that was large and looked tasty. I wanted to eat hers too. We ate here in February and it was mediocre at best. Decided we'd try it again and wow are we disappointed with our decision. There is another 'Greek' restaurant in Edmond, that 'let's' say I will always 'do' before Simply Falafel. No flavor in the humus and the chicken and lamb were over cooked and burnt. I can only say, "yuck!" Lintel Rice more closely resembles a huge helping of over cooked lentils with a little rice added. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the owner is very nice. But, I'll repeat, the food is horrid. HORRID! This place needs Chef Robert Irvine and I think they'd have a fighting chance. Unless, every person in NE Edmond is missing taste buds... It's plausible. My daughter and I went here after her soccer game at UCO. We try to eat clean and this place totally delivered. I ordered the three salad plate with Greek, Persian, and Tabouli. The veggies were so fresh and crisp and the tabouli was out of this world fresh. We were very impressed by how attentive and genuine the staff and owner were, from the moment we stepped in the restaurant. A larger table had just opened as we walked in and one of the employees immediately walked over to clear it for us. My parents ordered the soup and sandwich combo, and I ordered the meat plate with basmati rice, falafel, and gluten free pita. This was the best gluten free pita I've ever had, I even asked to purchase more to take home. The meat was very flavorful, some of the best I've ever had. My parents said the soup and sandwiches were very good and a large portion. The owner made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly. Tonight was the second time I had been there. Each time the owner was super friendly and offered my son free ice cream and a drink. The first time I met the owner's son who was very knowledgeable about the menu, and this time the owner even took me into the back to show me his chicken shwarama. I've tried the chicken gyro platter and the chicken shwarama platter with a fattoush and then Greek salad. I enjoyed both immensely and was very full after both. I think what really makes this restaurant stand out is Magid ,the owner, and his family. They care so much about producing fantastic food and have such wonderful customer service. I really love going there! The restaurant is a little small but it is cozy. They also have pictures on the wall of the various platters so you have an idea of what you are ordering, which is a great idea. I'll be back next week! read more

We received terrible service and treatment by the owner. We placed an order through the DoorDash app. When we received our order the entree was missing. We called the restaurant and the owner told us we didn't order it. We could see that we did in the DoorDash app. After arguing with me, I put my husband on the phone and he admitted they received the order. He told my husband that he would have DoorDash deliver it in 30 minutes. My husband called back when we hadn't received it 45 minutes later. He claimed we canceled it. He seems to think that he can say anything and be believed. He was told that we didn't cancel it. I then received a refund from DoorDash, but we will never eat at Simply Falafel again.
