    Seitan Gyro
    Jennifer L.

Delicious again! I took my fiancé here for the first time, he has only gone veg within the last year so he was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was at Simply Green. I ordered the Seitan Gyro - one issue I had later was my mouth broke out in hives. I have an issue with nuts, sesame, and chickpeas, and was told I was safe but something caused a mild break out. It would be nice to know on the menu what the ingredients are in everything - especially the sauces. The booths are difficult to eat in if someone is sitting in the booth behind you, as they are attached. The man behind me was moving so much I kept hitting my face with my food. Overall still 5 stars tho because YUM

From breakfast through dinner, every meal here is a total winner. I love the pancakes for breakfast, salads, soups or sandwiches are all great, my favorite being the eggplant Poboy. Dinner specials are always fun too. The atmosphere is your local vegan diner nothing stuffy, nothing overdone and the price prices are pretty affordable. If you're vegan, you will not be disappointed.

I've been here many times when friends. The food is 100% vegan and DELICIOUS! There are weekly specials (including breakfast for dinner!). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! It's not a big place, but they can accommodate a large group (14-16 people) to door together. There ate booths as well. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

My daughter nearly died after eating here the other day. She has a severe nut allergy and knows to be careful when eating someplace new, but had no idea the mac and cheese she ordered from the kids menu was made with cashew cheese (thats a thing?). Despite the menu calling much attention to the gluten options (congrats to those gluten allergy people), nowhere does it mention products that contain nuts. Nut allergies are pretty common and should especially be called out on the kids menu. Thanks to the staff at Hoboken ER where we spent several hours, I can gratefully report our daughter is ok. But PLEASE be aware before eating here - and if you are local, please insist they update their menus.

Loyal customer here. However, things are changing. Simple Green is pricey, greasy and getting lazy. I enjoyed my orders and experience with you but I'm done returning. The food is greasy. Fries mush together. Plate drips of oil. The staff and kitchen are not communicating and double checking each other. I'm tired of mistakes with my orders. This wasn't the first time my order has been messed up but it certainly will be the last time I support the business. I order a wrap and I received a hamburger bun. My fault for not triple checking. But I shouldn't have to check if the kitchen does their job and the employee up front does theirs. Goodbye Simple Green.

Protein paradise salad - so big!

We've been fans since they opened several years ago. Their food is consistent, fresh and so good! My favorite and what I always get is their protein paradise salad. It is huge and filling and always tastes great. I recently got the buffalo chicken' club which was a special - my husband and I both loved it. They also have steak fries which are my absolute favorite. They serve breakfast too - tofu's scramble with potato's is excellent, the breakfast burrito is also good. Definitely a must try!

Service was superb. The waitress was extremely kind with quick service. She was fabulous. The food portions are enormous. We purchased 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 1 dessert. Expected to eat at least half of each; however, it was enough to feed us for an entire weekend instead. All was fresh and delicious. The ambiance within the restaurant was nice and clean with good music too. Definitely a new spot for us to run to whenever we are hungry.

Tucked in a strip mall in downtown Ramsey with plenty of parking in the lot out front. Lots of vegan and some gluten free options. The waitress was very patient with lots of Patrons looking for GF substitutes. Had the hummus platter which was very good. Very Decent falafel included! Pita that came with it was hot and fresh. Eggplant parm sandwich was great and crispy. I got the kale slaw which was mostly just kale with a shred or two of carrot. Could have used more dressing and eggplant could have used more sauce.

This place gets the concept that vegan food should taste good, and they deliver that with a smile. A nutritional oasis with a bohemian vibe.

The portions are a good size and cooked to perfection. Chef John noticed that the ribeye portion for one of our party was too small so he had the kitchen bring out another cut and he cooked that up for him. They don't serve mustard sauce at the table- only ginger and yum sauce, but if you call ahead (and ask for Chef John) he can make it for you- and it's delicious. He's not the showiest of chefs but he has great skills and the food is delicious. Notes about the hibachi section- it is crowded, loud and can get hot. If you have sensory issues it's probably not the place for you. My adult daughter had to step out because of the noise and the crowd. But we come on weekend nights when it's the worst. Come off hours and you'll be fine. Chef John is the best!

Naru looked promising when we booked our party of three for a birthday dinner online, and the…read moreconfirmation call was pleasant. It's an intimate spot with only four teppanyaki tables, and we were seated promptly. My family has been going to hibachi for over 50 years to celebrate special occasions, so we know what to expect. Unfortunately, this visit was a total letdown. As is standard, we shared a table with another party--a family with three kids. Right away, there were red flags: the kids were hyped up on candy, spilling things, and spreading out so much that I was repeatedly bumped into and forced to eat off the edge of the table. Management and servers saw this unfolding but never intervened, even though they clearly knew the family. Then came our cook, "Chef John," and things went further downhill: Complete Lack of Engagement: Wearing a baseball cap instead of proper chef attire, Chef John spent the entire meal chatting with the other family (who were clearly regulars) while ignoring us like we weren't even there. No Showmanship: Teppanyaki is about the experience-- jokes, knife tricks, tossing shrimp, flipping eggs. Chef John did nothing beyond a single, basic onion volcano. Bland & Poorly Executed Food: The food lacked real flavor--no ginger or garlic, just heavy salt, pepper, and soy sauce. The steaks were hit-or-miss (the ribeye was moist, but the filet had dry sections), and seafood wasn't cut into bite-sized pieces for chopsticks. Order Snafu & Arguing: All three of us ordered steak and shrimp combos. He served full shrimp portions to two of us, but gave the third person only an appetizer portion. When we brought up the mistake--despite him confirming orders earlier--it turned into an uncomfortable debate over whether she was "entitled" to the rest of her meal. We eventually got the missing shrimp, but the damage was done. Between the chaotic table dynamic that staff ignored, zero entertainment, bland food, and having to argue for the food we ordered, it ruined a birthday celebration. I seriously doubt that we will be returning.

Solid local sushi spot with a chill vibe…read more Sushi and Sashimi Special ($75) - This party platter comes with 12 pieces of sushi, 18 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece spicy tuna naruto roll, and 6 piece california roll. I think it would be enough to feed 2 people, but if you have more than that, you probably want to order another roll or two. Everything here was pretty good. The fish seemed average freshness. The naruto roll was unique with cucumber around the outside, though the tuna was not really spicy. I specifically thought the sea bream (white fish) sashimi was good, as it had a creamy taste and consistency. Julie Roll ($15) - This roll was delicious, with a nice combo of yellowtail, salmon, and tuna in one roll. In addition, there was mango for some sweetness, avocado, and cucumber in there. It was topped with red fish eggs and had a soy wrapper around it, which made it a little unique. Beauty and Beast Roll ($15) - This is sort of a 2-in-1 roll, as half of the pieces have tuna on top and half have avocado on top. There is also shrimp tempura inside along with cucumber and eel. Another tasty roll. The restaurant has a very chill vibe inside. There were a couple others dining in as well for Sunday lunch. The staff are super friendly and even gave us a side of edamame on the house. The service speed was pretty quick. Overall, if you are in the mood for some sushi (either dining in or take-out), I think Nigiri Sushi would be a very good option, particularly if you are in the Franklin Lakes area.

They have valet parking. We had a whole hibachi table to ourselves. The table sizes are 8, 10 or 12. We had a table for 8 with an added chair, but I found it a little tight on my end. We got a few drinks at the bar while we waited for our party to arrive to be seated. One of our party was late, so we requested to be seated with 8. The chair was added later. I had a lychee martini at the bar and my husband got a non alcoholic float, both delicious. We paid separately at the bar for these drinks. Once seated, we ordered some apps and drinks. We started with wine, beer, karaage chicken, soft shell crab, gyoza and tempura medley. We later added veg spring rolls. The karaage chicken was tasty but not that crispy and I didn't love the crab taste, but very crispy. Gyoza and tempura were both good. Then came delicious onion soup, fresh salad, grilled shrimp app then the hibachi food. They cooked the vegetarian meal first, then seafood, then meats. They provide miso soup for vegetarians. The rice had a lot of flavor, noodles and veg were cooked just right. The hibachi chef was enthusiastic and encouraged everyone to have a good time. He did the onion volcano but no tossing of food/drink into anyone's mouth. I ordered the zen scallops and tried some of the sirloin steak. The scallops and steak were tender and cooked perfectly. I liked both dipping sauces. People ordered steak, shrimp/salmon, tofu veg. For dessert, people ordered fried ice cream, mochi ice cream, and green tea ice cream. I had the mochi (3 flavors) and tried the green tea. We also did a birthday bonsai celebration for one of the attendees - they came by with dish of pineapple and a huge traditional mask and everyone sang. Prices are a little expensive but ok for special occasions. We had a fun time overall!
