Yesterday I had a one hour deep tissue massage. I wanted a Thai massage but the masseuse upsold me saying that if I wanted her to work out the kinks in my neck, shoulder and upper back, it has to be a deep tissue massage for an additional $5. So I agreed. The masseuse leaves and comes back and says it's actually an additional $10, not $5. I'm not thrilled about being upsold but it's already past 1pm and I want to get my massage started so I say fine. I then get a strange massage which is mostly a person standing and walking around on my body, adding some oil, some hot stones, but not much massage. I don't feel like my shoulder, upper back or neck got worked out at all. The masseuse at the end says I really need 90 minutes to get this worked out better. Not only that, I look at the clock and it's barely 2pm so I felt like I got shortchanged. The masseuse also had to leave the room a few times to check on the pricing and to get stones/towels during the massage so there was empty time. I am disenchanted with the massage and having being upsold and not getting what I wanted from it that I just collected my things to leave. Then something interesting happens. As I am paying the $10 additional fee for the deep tissue massage and the tip, the owner (I presume) asks me how it was. I say just okay. The owner looks concerned and asks why I said just okay. I reply that I didn't feel like I felt any better and I came in because I really wanted someone to work on my neck, shoulders, and back. The owner goes to get some Thai oil and feel my neck and upper shoulder and back and massages it for maybe five minutes which was GREAT!!! If the masseuse had massaged me the way the owner had, I would have given this place a five star review, recommended it to all of my friends, and come back several times since I live only a mile away. Instead, the masseuse just kept saying that I needed to get a 90 minute massage (Gau sip, Gau sip). My Thai isn't very good but even that I could understand. They seemed to be surprised when I said thank you them in Thai as I was leaving. So anyway, I am giving it three stars. Maybe it was just not compatible with me or maybe it just wasn't a good day. I was glad the owner asked how it went but not sure if I would return based on my experience. I'm glad that other people have liked this place though. They seem like nice people. **Adding to the review two days later** I was glad to see that the business manager responded to my review and agreed that the masseuse upsold me. I think that's responsible of the business. However, I (the customer) have still been wronged. I would have expected a partial refund or a credit towards another massage. Instead, this is basically agreeing that the masseuse upsold me and did *not* deliver on the massage that I purchased. I am decreasing star rating to 2 stars. read more

Oh my God, Nadia fixed my shoulder! I woke up with serious shoulder pain that lasted three days. One half-hour session with Nadia and the rain was down 90 percent. I have tried a few places for massage and I always end up coming back to this place. The staff is nice, the place smells nice, you get heat stones, etc. I usually go for the combo and the blankets are nice and there is plenty of space for you to lay down on. I know you're just laying there most of the time but I've been to places where there isn't a lot of space for you to lay on. They also give you a small water bottle when you leave. It's hard for me to imagine that this place exists. The level of massage that you get here for the tiny amount of money you pay is insane. I like massages. I get them often. It's nice to sit in a resort spa or a Burke Williams and sip cucumber water. But the proof is in the massage, and the ladies here are as good as any in the business. Much, much better than most. If you want a kick-butt massage, the kind where you need a full day of recovery, afterwards, this is your joint. I'll let other people speak of the Swedish massage-- I have no doubt that it is terrific-- but I'm a 90-minute deep-tissue kinda guy. And, take my word for it, these ladies are no joke. They go hard. Real hard. And they only show mercy if you ask for it. I love them. One last thing: These women are talented professionals. They are probably better at their job than you are at yours. They are friendly and make you feel very comfortable and safe when massaging you. If they feel any knots they really take their time getting rid of them. Just got home from this place. And wow let me tell you, best massage ive ever had. Im a fairly big guy 6'3 235lbs and I had Ally as my masseuse but man is she strong, I was twisted and bent and had all my bones cracked haha. Her technique is amazing. I am not flexible at all but after this visit I really feel more flexible lol. I had 90 mins with her deep tissue which was 70 dollars but I do not regret 1 penny. The worst massage I have ever had. It started off with great phone service. We came in and I ended up with a completely different masseuse than I requested. I didn't mind, but the massage was horrible. All she did was rub down every body part, literally, no massaging. I told her I would like to get dressed, and she sent her manager in there. The manager wanted to take over my massage and so I allowed it. She was just as bad! Hurt me after repeating the word softer please! Btw, the AC unit was running over my head the whole time. I am a regular customer. I've been to many massage places, but none is better than Simply Message. I have chronic leg pain, but I started coming here the pain has been minimal to none. My masseuse, Poin, has the experience and the knowledge to effectively deal with my legs. Poin constantly asks me for feedback showing how much she cares about the quality of her work. As a result my legs feel the best they have in years. It's not a fancy spa, just a place for a great massage. I have to comment on Scott M's review. I decided to try this place out from the Yelp reviews. I'm glad I did! I called at 1pm on a Saturday and they were able to accommodate me at 2pm. I got the deep tissue massage - it was amazing... The masseuse was tiny, but she worked hard to get my knots out. They also have an early morning special for thai/swedish/combo massage, so look into that. So I'll start by saying, candidly, when I see someone write a review of 1 star I immediately think they may be overreacting a bit, but now I understand why people do it after my wife and my experience here. To be honest, I probably won't remember all the bad things that happened on our couples massage two months ago now, but I'm going to give it a shot for who ever is reading this review's sake. As for my part of the couples massage...the best way to describe it was this, imagine someone walking on the street and holding a sign up reading, "Will pay someone $5 to come help give a massage. You need no prior experience needed." This is how I felt they selected my masseuse. She massaged one part of my leg for roughly 15 minutes, basically doing nothing. Then, she would switch over to the other side and would give maybe half the time on this new side. She also left my massage, and I kid you not, 5 different times to go answer a phone call, doorbell ring, and to fetch something she had forgotten. Oh, let's not forget the fact they switched the AC on to full blast, leaving my wife and I shivering during the massage. As for my wife's massage, she had a similar experience with her lady ACTUALLY ANSWERING TEXT MESSAGES during the massage. Cmon now! Last thing, both our masseuses had several conversations during our massage while we were supposed to be "Simply Relaxing". If you've read this far, good on you because I probably wouldn't have. My experience was in the middle. First off the staff are friendly for sure and the place was decently clean. We got the 90 min massage. From my wife's experience she definitely enjoyed it. Unfortunately I can't say the whole experience for me was great. The reason I say this is because during my massage there was a switch of masseuse and the experience just wasn't as good as how it started. It felt like the one that took over didn't have a routine cause it felt all over the place. The quality of the massage was like night and day compared to the first one that massaged me. By all means I think you should still give them a try. From all the good reviews here it seems like they really are a good place.
