This place should be packed to the walls 24/7. We were in Niagara for the weekend and got lunch on Saturday. We tried the fried chicken and smothered pork chop with mashed potatoes, creamed corn, collard greens, and Mac and cheese. The meal came with cornbread too which was slightly sweet and a great texture. We loved the food so much we had to go back the next day to try out some other offerings. The catfish nuggets are a MUST. Out of everything we had what we would rave about would be catfish nuggets, fried chicken, smothered pork steak, baked beans, Mac and cheese, and the yams. We unfortunately didn't have room for dessert. I'm so thankful we don't live in Niagara cus we'd eat there daily. You can tell the young men working at the restaurant are putting their hearts and souls into this restaurant and they deserve to have this place take off! Upon entering I was greeted by none other than the notorious Donna, her personality just gives life to a room and she's always so friendly anytime I interact with her. I went with a BBQ Rib dinner, Fried Chicken dinner and Fried Haddock dinner. I must say all 3 meals hit different! The chicken was so crispy and flavorful, the ribs had soul! The bbq sauce was on point and very authentic, and to my surprise the ribs definitely had some meat on them lol, and they give you some decent size pieces. The fish dinner was seasoned to perfection and like everything else was delicious and on point. All the sides Ive experienced so far were awesome! Especially the Mac n Cheese and Baked Beans, but the Potato Salad and Collard Greens were just as good lol. They were out of some side items so I was limited with my selection. I really have no complaints about the food but they were EXTREMELY SLOW. I guess everything is cooked fresh so I expect that to take some time but it was over an hour to receive entrees. Probably 30 minutes just for appetizers. Lastly the can sodas is a bit cheesy. We almost walked out because they took so long to bring the food. Would be 5 stars if not for the slow service of food. More like a moist buttery corn flavored cake then a dried up slab of cornmeal that tries to pass itself off as cornbread that you'd need a gallon of water to wash it down elsewhere. This! This! I'd return for time and time again. Delicious beyond explainination. The collard greens were good; they're cooked with turkey tails and cabbage. To me, they were a bit too sweet, but I added a splash of vinegar that improved the flavor considerably. I picked up some mini sweet potato pies today that I'm very jealous of. I wish I could make a sweet potato pie this good. The crust is tender and flaky, and the filling is incredibly light, not at all dense, and flavorful of what I'm guessing is nutmeg and vanilla.
