A cure cupcake and cake shop in Downtown that makes very good cupcakes. They have many different varieties of cupcakes as well as other types of pastries. I have been here multiple times and have been satisfied with the cupcakes that I have bought. I recommend going between 2-3 pm because that is when their Happy Hour occurs, where their large cupcakes are buy one get one. We ordered our wedding cake last year, after we met with Jen to discuss designs and flavors. They incorporated personalized details on it and delivered it over 100 miles away to our venue and put it all together. It looked and tasted amazing! Very reasonably priced! I typically don't do reviews, but in this case I feel it is necessary. On 2/23 I placed an over the phone order for a next day pick up. I have now been made aware that SS does not do last minute orders ( so why take my business). I was told they can do an edible image , with cupcakes to match my spider-man theme and that my cake would be spider-man "themed". As the customer I'm thinking ok cool, its gonna have the colors and an image and be a simple cake. During the process of my order it was explained to me that it could not be one of their custom cakes, which I understood due to timing. Now what was not explained was that I would be receiving an all white cake with a partial image and some words. For $85 the cake looked like I picked it up at Walmart and the cupcakes where hard and didn't taste like their typical SS standard. If my order could not be done the way I asked then my business should have been turnt down. Due to the piss poor job of the cake and cupcakes I had no choice but to purchase a $13 cake from Fred Myers that looked way better then what I paid for with SS. I didn't even use their cake because honestly I was ashamed to even mention to my party guest where it came from. The cake was kept to show management. When I spoke to the manager I was basically told its my fault for ordering so late and their is nothing they can do about it. I was not offered a discount on my next order or a refund, absolutely nothing. I felt more like a sale then a valued customer. I have been a customer of theirs for many many years and have never had a complaint about the customer service or their work up until this point. For a $85 tab this type of work is unacceptable. I could have taken my business else were and been a satisfied customer. Sadly after this experience I will be taking my business else were and no longer recommending this establishment to anyone. read more

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon after lunch to kick a sweet tooth craving. Such a cute little shop with a good assortment of sweet treats. I tried the mini cupcakes. Peanut butter, pumpkin spice and chocolate. We also had a couple bars and sugar cookies in the group. Taste was wonderful, packaging was perfect and the staff was helpful and friendly. My son requested cupcakes to serve for dessert at his graduation party. I chose 3 flavors, vanilla, chocolate and poppyseed. Was stumped how I wanted them decorated. Since my son had earned a degree in computer and electrical engineering, the staff at Simply Sweets decorated perfectly! I went in Saturday to pick up said order and they hadn't done it because it's a custom order and I didn't pay them... my fault. They were so friendly the second I walked in. They spent time designing exactly what I wanted for my daughters 2nd birthday even though they were super busy! Even gave me ideas for how to decorate for her party. My daughter tried a cupcake today and licked every finger clean! It's hard being a single parent and wanting to give your child a special thing when money is tight. They asked my budget and gave me the world for what I could afford! My friend had a custom birthday cake made by simply sweets and it was beautiful... For presentation they get the 1 star.... From there its all down hill. The cake was dry and the inner icing was Winco'ish. The cake was over 100 dollars and everyone at the party agreed that the cake had little to no value for the price. I for one will stick with Larson's Bakery. Do not waste your money on presentation without substance. read more

Walked by this place about a month ago and went in to try some cupcakes. Delicious! And the custom cakes on display in the bakery are impressive. Went back in today and ordered cupcakes and a 6 inch cake for our wedding. Jen was so helpful and nice, which is especially helpful because I am not an artistic person at all.
