We started with the BBQ pork spring rolls. The BBQ pork was shredded, which felt like a cost-cutting move on protein. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting for the price point. I was seated outside with my dog on a busy, loud street. I ordered a bánh mì sandwich by number. Our server came back mid-order to ask about rice or noodles, which I assumed was a clarifying question about my mom's vegetarian soup, as both dishes contained tofu. When the food arrived, I received lemongrass tofu and not what I ordered. I flagged it immediately. The server acknowledged the confusion but then returned to inform me that the owner, who was off-site and being reached by phone, was requiring me to pay for the wrong dish regardless. This is apparently their policy: if an order is made in error, the customer is still responsible for the cost. I asked to speak with the owner or an on-site manager. Both requests were denied. What I was told next genuinely shocked me: the server mentioned that the cost of the wrong dish would be split between the kitchen and serving staff. These employees were willing to cover a mistake out of their own pockets rather than push back on the owner. The server was visibly uncomfortable throughout the entire interaction. To be clear: the staff were kind and doing their best under what appeared to be a stressful and unfair working environment. This is a management issue, not a staff issue. I hadn't been here in years but coming back reminded me why this place is so popular. I stopped by for dinner with son and I was happy the level of service and quality of food has remained consistent with what I remember. The menu selection is extensive, there are so many options to choose from whether you're craving a rice plate, pho, or something lighter you'll find something to eat. They even have boba and coffees. For dinner we ordered two combo plates the portion size was generous, we left full and with left overs. Service was good with everyone we interacted with was attentive and beyond friendly. Not as good as it used to be. Tofu banh mi has gotten very small, isn't very flavorful, and pretty skimpy on vegies. Also served on the wrong kind of bread (like a soft bolillo, not crispy baguette). It was on the pricy side so for a young family of 4, we would only come here on special occasions. I'll skip to today's very sad experience. I walked it, and got the food for take out. We were warned it would be 20 mins wait. I had no problem waiting. I saw the place was busy, and orders were being called in. I thought wow, it's going to be worth the wait. Two combo plates were a total of a little over $40. -perfect, I know it's good quality. I'm paying for the better meat. I sat down, waited, got my order, drove home (5 mins away) got a fork and took a bite. Yuck! What is going on here?! The meat was beef jerky. Inedible! I was so sad and disappointed, I just wasted my time money. I will never be back. I can't believe there is no quality control. We didn't expect a large crowd on this cold, wet evening but when we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised to see all but a couple tables filled with happy diners. This restaurant was highly recommended to us so we were excited to give it a try. We ordered the pho noodles with steak (#10) and a combo meal with BBQ pork, egg roll, and shrimp (#18) with brown rice. From the first sip of broth, I was impressed by the robust flavor and tasty ingredients. So comforting and exactly what I needed to warm up. A separate little plate of crispy bean sprouts, basil, lime and sliced jalapenos accompany the soup noodles. You may add as much or as little as you please. This is one of the best bowls of pho I have had in the local area. The combo meal was a satisfying as well. It came with a good portion of BBQ pork, one egg roll and two shrimp. Everything was nicely seasoned and fresh tasting. We are looking forward to trying some of the pictured items on the back of the menu. This is my partner's and I's 2nd time walking out of simply due to the waiters taking someone else's order that has walked in after us clearly without reservations. They had us sit ourselves and brought us water within the first few minutes of sitting down and 5 minutes before the other guesses had even walked in. The place didn't look too busy either. I've had this place saved for a while. We were in the area and decided to stop by. This place is on its own so there is enough parking. There used to be a to go section where you order or a sit down area. It's small they had about 10 tables and there's seating outside. My son ordered a strawberry smoothie. I ordered the shrimp and noodles dish. My husband ordered the fried pork and shrimp with a Pepsi. They were pretty busy but service did flow. We got our food after 15 minutes. The presentation is perfect the food looks delicious. The portions are very generous you will not leave hungry. The taste is delicious absolutely perfect. I loved my dish. My husband and son shared and it was more than enough food is perfect here nothing I would change. It's a little pricey but it's worth every penny. We are already planning our next trip. It's been a min Simply Vietnam Express. Since the last time I've been here prices have risen (not a problem everything has gone up) The Pho: itself came out luke warm, I waited 20+ mins for this one bowl of Phò. It was MID at best no richness of spice or flavor of beef bones stood out one bit. In the pho image I asked for fish sauce and chili oil and was served in a little sauce cup (this is hilarious, just give me the bottle. I didn't even use all of what was in the cup so it was wasted) the chili oil wasn't even chili oil lol it was pickled blended pepper sauce. Would I come back for the pho? Nah I'm GOOD. The Bahn mi: I got swindled hahah this was a Mini Bahn Mi $10 a pop. (If I knew they were mini I wouldn't have ordered it 99% of other Vietnamese restaurants are full size bigger than the water bottle in image! Kelly's has some for $8 full size). Taste: its good there pickled daikon and carrots are really flavorful!! No CAP! I thought I ordered a cold cut but got BBQ instead it's fine! Initially we were going to another Vietnamese restaurant but it has now closed but my friend knew about this place. We arrived and there were plenty of folks inside so I knew this was a good sign. It looks like it was a former fast food restaurant and they made the best of it and just added the Vietnamese menu. They do have table seating with a great, attentive waitstaff. We sit down in a booth, the kind a fast food restaurant would have. On one side of the menu are pictures of boba drinks and their description. On the other side is the food menu, I wanted a banh mi sandwich, so I order the 5 spice chicken one. It was tasty, a bit sweeter than 5 spice I've had in Thai restaurants and it didn't have the Asian basil in it like most 5 spice chicken I've eaten, the other thing was they chop the chicken up in small pieces, I prefer my chicken to be in adult size pieces. My friend ordered the scrimp rolls, they were 3 giant rolls with the classic peanut dipping sauce. As we enjoyed our meal the place was filling up with other diners, they were ordering the classic Pho and other dishes. And takeout orders were flowing too. All in all the food was good. the interior is bright with lots of windows, very clean, and attentive, kind waitstaff. It's right off a freeway exit in Santa Rosa on the west side of the freeway. There is no doubt that Vietnamese food is becoming more and more common as a food of choice when deciding to dine out. read more

I always love coming to Simply Vietnam! The tofu bahn mi is so good - the bread is super fresh and everything is very flavorful. Their Thai iced tea and Vietnamese iced coffee are consistently good. I'm not a fan of the share tea boba drinks - have ordered two different drinks and haven't liked either, so not sure if I'll give those a third chance. Their soups are also always a hit. Big portion sizes on their entrees. Wasn't a fan of their yellow coconut curry; found it to be pretty plain. The service here is great, both dining in and ordering out.
