We came here for dinner on our first night in Santa Rosa. We were pretty hungry and decided to give this place a try since it had such high ratings. We came in a large group, but we split up by family since seating is pretty limited, which made things a little easier. I ordered the beef pho with steak and brisket, the pork spring rolls, and the combo rice plate. The pho came out piping hot, which was great, but the lady who brought out the food forgot the vegetables that came with it. My daughter didn't realize they were missing until she had already eaten most of her pho. The combo rice plate was just okay. The fish sauce that came with it was quite salty, and the rice was hard and seemed undercooked. The pork spring rolls were also different from what we're used to. We typically have spring rolls with boiled, unseasoned pork, which pairs well with the peanut dipping sauce. Here, the pork was grilled and seasoned, same meat as what was in my rice plate and unfortunately, we didn't care for it as much. On the plus side, the staff were nice and friendly. One of the workers gave my friend a can of beer and also gave me one as an apology for the forgotten vegetables with the pho, which was a thoughtful gesture. Overall, the service was friendly and they made an effort to make up for the mistake, but unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. I had lunch with Emily at What The Pho, and we had a delightful lunch. This is Emily's fave pho place in Sonoma County. I have Thai tea. So good. I know it's not the right nationality, but I enjoy Thai Tea. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and a good portion-size. We started with the shrimp spring rolls. I love shrimp spring rolls. They're so simple but so yummy. And the peanut sauce, SENSATIONAL. I love peanut sauce too. Then came the pho, the star of the show. We had the steak pho. The meat was cooked perfectly. Normally, I don't love the thinly sliced meat in pho and ramen, but this one was cooked perfectly. They had so many sauces available. A major plus. Emily got two servings out of her pho. Wonderful meal! A friend took a retired (and very picky) chef here for lunch and he really enjoyed the pho. I've been anxious to try it ever since. We were greeted by the friendly owner (?) and he told us we could take a seat wherever we wanted. There were several people enjoying a late lunch on both sides of the restaurant. I noticed that most of the customers had ordered the pho. We decided to try: - Fresh spring rolls - delicious! Large shrimp, fresh ingredients. Tasty dip. - Garlic noodle plate - noodles were a nice thickness, bouncy and flavored well. Protein was the bbq pork as we were told that's a customer favorite. Veggies were hot and cooked perfectly. - Steak pho - broth was delightful, clean and fresh tasting, with thin slices of tender meat. Noodles were a nice consistency and not mushy. I loved it even more with the bean sprouts, jalapeno, basil and a touch of lime. Everything was timed perfectly, spring rolls came out first for us to enjoy. Server, who I think is the owner, checked on us and refilled my water without having to ask. He promptly cleans up tables after customers leave so the place always looks clean and neat. We decided to get Pho after finding our fav ramen place closed on Sundays. This Pho is def good & full of clean tasting flavor plus the shrimp was cleaned properly which is great! I've heard a lot about this place and was happy to finally check it out after a long walk with a friend. We started with the fresh spring rolls, which were absolutely delicious. I loved how thin and tender the wrap was--not tough at all--and it was generously filled with vegetables, complemented by a very satisfying peanut sauce. We also shared the tofu curry with vegetables, which was quite tasty. I added some of the house-made chili oil, and it really kicked the flavors up a notch. The ambiance is lovely, with gorgeous photos lining the walls, and the manager/owner is very personable and welcoming. We picked this place to try because we were preparing ourselves for giving birth at Sutter hospital and wanted to see how the food in the area was in case we needed it. The day we first stopped in here was around one of the hospitals childbirth or baby prep classes and we were so glad we did. The location is easy to get to, and has lots of accessible parking that it shares with the shopping mall. We were one of two tables filled when we arrived, and the person helping us was friendly and speedy. I ordered the vermicelli bowl and he ordered the steak and brisket pho, and our food was out super fast. At the time, I was extremely pregnant and never sure how much I could eat or how I'd do with smells, but this was so good, I ate the entire bowl. Hubs enjoyed his phone as well, so we were both very happy with our meals. Prices seemed really on point for the quality, the flavors were bold, and the food was made really well. The only downside to our visit was getting out of the parking lot. It is always so frustrating trying to turn left out of this entire lot! I was here again today, and have a few updates. For one, they have expanded the restaurant, and there are now many tables for dine-in, which is great. It's also quite clean which I also appreciate. And he had a bunch of questions and requests, and the waiter was sooo patient and nice. He genuinely wanted him to have a good experience and make the food good for him. Honestly, I'm a little blown away. And this is probably why I can't be a waiter. I'd get so annoyed, :P but nope, he was totally accommodating. This is also different from the service that was there before - the lady who would get annoyed at us that for eating in. :P Anyhow, the food is still the same - very good.
