But we were able to talk it out and come to an understanding. In the end, he fixed my phone and got it looking good again, which I really appreciated. Even though there was a small argument, the final result was solid.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience. I brought in my Asus Zenbook because a few of the keys were…read morenonfunctional. I was quoted $150 (plus tax and merchant fees) to diagnose the issue. That price felt reasonable, so I asked what exactly it included. The policy was explained to me along the lines of: "We can usually cover the cost of parts within this price, but occasionally there are outliers where additional costs may be necessary depending on the repair." Honestly, I found that even more reasonable. We live in a world where tech manufacturers care less and less about repairability and seem to believe you're better off just buying a new device instead of fixing the one you have. Asus itself charges a minimum diagnostic fee of $99, and that doesn't even include shipping. At that point, I can only imagine what the communication and turnaround time would look like. After a few days of diagnostics, it was explained to me that I would need a new keyboard. Most of the keys simply needed a little work to get functioning again, but unfortunately my "C" key was completely done for, which was obviously out of their control. A replacement keyboard was ordered from a relatively local supplier, but it arrived defective, so we had to pivot to another option from China. What really impressed me was that they returned my laptop to me while we waited for the new keyboard to arrive. That wasn't even something I had considered as a possibility. Even though the repair wasn't complete yet, I greatly appreciated being able to use my laptop in the meantime. That is absolutely not something you'd get from the manufacturer. The estimated arrival time for the replacement keyboard was about a month, but it actually showed up in only about two and a half weeks. I was psyched. I dropped my laptop off in the morning right when they opened, and it was ready for pickup by the end of the same day. Best of all, I was told there would be no additional charges beyond the original quote. Both of the gentlemen behind the counter were thoughtful, considerate, and professional throughout the entire process. The pricing was highly reasonable, the communication was excellent, and I got my laptop back in perfect shape in a timely manner. Highly, highly recommend.

Fast forward to this current issue. I was frustrated getting replies of various prices or no price at all "We have to see it to give you a price" I didn't want to deal with the slow drain in my bathroom. That sink is brand new, I was so annoyed. I called Moore on the off chance they had availability. They did. Their drain unclogging price is clearly listed on their Yelp page. I respect that. Easy scheduling based on my needs and the pricing I clear, NO SURPRISES. Service provider arrived at the top of my appointment window, wore a mask, got to work. He showed us what the problem was so we could manage it ourselves should it happen again. Like I said, new sink. Like new NEW don't break by messing with it new. Now we know we won't break anything accessing it the way the service person did. I appreciate the professionalism, the mentoring, and the kindness. Bookmark this. Secondly, my initial message exchange was helpful, but life got busy and months went by until I woke up yesterday to find my screen so shattered that my selfie camera images looked like they were Fun House distortions. But I remembered the exchange and headed to the Village at Corte Madera to finally fix my screen. I started to dial the phone number and then decided I was being a wus. The Village isn't a huge place. Still, a few moments later, even though I hadn't given them time to answer, they called me back to ask whether I was trying to reach them and how they could help. They're located at the Macy's end of the shopping center, a few steps away from the Apple Store. The two islands have racks of phone cases that had been rifled through by frantic shoppers and Ethan and his colleague were both bundled in scarves and hats, given that the temperature was hovering a few degrees above freezing. This isn't to suggest they were huddled by the space heater or inactive. One was engaged with a customer while the other's hands were busy applying a new screen to a digital tablet. Ethan looked at my screen, admired my kitty cat screensaver, checked the model type and quoted me $99 and thirty minutes to fix my screen. I headed off to finish some holiday shopping and they got to work. When I returned approximately half an hour later, my new pristine screen was installed and they let me know they offer a year warranty on their work. These guys delivered soooo much value for the dollar! Thanks a million for delivering service with a smile and efficiency, even in the freezing cold! Wishing them happy holidays and a successful New Year!

In the very first message, I was told that they price match - but found out that's a lie. I provided custom plasma install with a lower quote from another company and custom plasma install's response was first "we can fix his work." And then when I said, I'm confused (because he didn't answer my question about price matching that) his response was "[competitor] is wrong on his pricing and must be desperate for work." A competitor quote was too low so they resorted to insulting the competitor. I do not want someone like that in my home.

Based on my experience, they don't come across as straight shooters or particularly trustworthy. Their rates are also 2 to 2.5 times higher than the next 10 top results on Yelp. Yelp should probably move them lower in their results given how few reviews they received in recent years. When I asked about the price difference, I was told the Frame TV is difficult to install and that they include a "lifetime warranty." The quotes I received from the other installers were all specifically for the frame TV. Reading other reviews on Yelp, it didn't seem like the lifetime warranty carried very much weight with them (Paul and Cary). In the end, the experience felt more like a bait-and-switch than a professional engagement. Maybe the quality of the work would have been fine -- but with so many reputable, fairly priced alternatives in the area, I'd strongly recommend going with someone else. Don't waste your time coordinating with Paul or Cary. I ultimately lost my deposit and could not even report them to the Better Business Bureau because they don't seem to exist outside of Yelp and Nextdoor.
