Great service experience (extra star) at this cramped strip mall location, but unfortunately the food was terrible. Dry falafel without enough herbs. Worse were the spoiled veggies they came with. Even after picking off the wilted bits, the strong cabbage smell should have warned me, and after eating some of the meal I had nausea overnight, still taste it in the morning. One of my favorite spots when I want something comforting yet healthy. I always go for the plate cause I think it's perfectly shareable with someone else. Me and my husband eat a lot and we always end up so full and satisfied! From the hummus to the meat, every little element of the plate is perfectly made and seasoned. These two photos are equivalent to one chicken plate. The line and wait can be long, I'm not gonna lie, but it's totally worth it, and the line just reinforces that the food you are getting in exchange is worth the wait. Everything comes fresh, warm, the servers are super friendly and efficient. A lot of older people go there and the young servers are patiently explaining everything to them. I asked them to give me everything because it was my first time there and I didn't want to build my plate, I just wanted a little bit of everything and boy did they give me a little bit of everything! When they handed over the bag, I was shocked at how heavy it was, filled with bread, french fries eggplant, and my chicken Shawarma plate and tons of sauces. And the spicy orange sauce, I have no idea what it is, but it is addictive and delicious. I got home and put the french fries in a dish and put the toppings on top and it was amazing, I'm going to save the pita and the rest of the food for later. Highly recommend! Yum yum yum!!! Picked up schnitzel, eggplant, Schwarma, rice and Israeli salad for ten. Juan who is professional and cheerful was tremendously helpful in guiding me with proportions and selection. So happy there were leftovers which are now nestled safely in the freezer for a lunch or two. Worth the drive from La Canada to Valley Village. The red cabbage salad has a light and clean dressing, the pickle slices are righteous and work perfectly with all of their food. And the French fries? The first time, they were light well done which was the bomb; the second time, the fries were still good, but we needed to give them a little extra time in the air fryer to get them to our version of crispy. Our first experience we ordered through a food delivery service and the second time, we picked up. I wish that I could give this restaurant a higher review, but unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience. My family and I come here often for Dinner and it's always great. The food is amazing. They are big portions so two people can share one plate. They also have the Kings Table which is one flat price for each person and they give you EVERYTHING! My family and I went for Lunch to Encino and this one cashier/waitress definitely was not trying to go to work that day. She was rude and inconsiderate. She was practically yelling at us for every move we made. We were ordering and she told us to hurry up and then my girlfriend put her bag on the counter for a second to get money out and she yelled at her to put it down and then she yelled at us to move because there were people in line behind us when there clearly wasn't anyone behind us. Then she yelled at us to move because she was trying to put her wallet in her purse. She brings down the whole restaurant, which is the reason I gave the three stars. The hamburger was very tough, hard to chew, hard to swallow, and had a very unpleasant flavor, extremely gamey. Although I was famished, I was only able to eat half the burger then threw it away. And the fries were only very slightly above room temperature. I might go back and try something else, but the burger meat was very low quality. UPDATE: I got a message from the owner (or manager) saying there's LAMB meat in their hamburgers. So that explains the awful gamey taste. In the US & entire Western world, unless it's clearly stated, a hamburger is made EXCLUSIVELY with BEEF. It took visitors from Boston to introduce us to this amazing hole-in-the wall restaurant. We have been there twice now. Not much in ambiance but boy was the food delicious. The last time we took out but today we stayed and had 1 plate of Rib-eye, 1 rib-eye in a pita, 1 chicken thigh plate, and 1 chicken thigh pita. We enjoyed every bite. Excellent service.
