I liked Sinceretea. I had the large Vietnamese Coffee and Chocolate Mochi Egg Puffs. It's a great place that offers wifi and plenty of tables for people to chill together and/or get some work done. Viet Coffee was okay and I enjoyed the Egg Puffs. Bathroom is located on another side of the building, so you'll have to go outside of the shop to get to it, but it's okay because the keys you use to access it has a map! My friend and I tried this place after I wanted a nearby boba spot I haven't tried. I'm glad we came here! It's a cute spot inside and out. When we came on a weekday afternoon it wasn't busy. There were 3 female employees literally waiting to take our order lol. It was cool they had a sample of Berry Merry. It was with 50% sugar and it was perfect. Although I liked it, I ordered the citrus punch with boba and standard sweetness. It was pretty good and not as tangy as I thought it'd be. I ordered my mom a mintea hibiscus. She enjoyed it but said she didn't taste the mint haha. My friend ordered the berry merry after trying it. I ended up ordering one before leaving lol. I would go back. The second time I ordered even though there were the same employees there and it didn't appear busy, they told me to order on the little computer lol. Cute tea place within walking distance from my home. I ordered a large Mintea Hibiscus 50%sweet and it was pretty good. I think hibiscus is an acquired taste, so it wasn't the greatest but I could tell it was good quality. This review is long overdue. I'm going to say it.. Sinceretea is the best boba spot in San Jose (in my opinion) I'm from SF and the peninsula so there were so many options to choose from. In the South Bay, specifically San Jose, your options are quite limited. I moved here a few years ago and once I discovered Sinceretea, its been my recommendation to all my friends. First off, staff is ALWAYS so friendly and on top of it. They are quick! I get the Mango Paradise 25% sweet with Boba which comes out to be $8.30 pretax and tip. It's so good. The Jasmine tea is brewed PERFECTLY. There isn't that dry, astringent, bitterness you get when its over steeped. I'm not sure what they use for the Mango or coconut flavoring, but it's not syrupy like most places. The boba is perfectly cooked and on the softer side, but gives the perfect chew. This is my favorite type of pearl, similar to Boba Guys pearls. I've had their Jasmine Milk Tea with green tea foam. Omg so delicious and simple. Jasmine tea was brewed perfectly and matcha foam was lightly sweetened like a cream/cheese topper. I've also had their mochi egg puffs however not my favorite. It was a little too dense for me and the eggy taste is muffled. It's a nice quiet place if you want to get some work done in there. There is limited seating, but I don't think I've ever seen it full. Somehow, when those flavors were mixed together, it created an strange, unpleasant taste that is hard to describe. This might possibly be one of the cutest cafe I've ever stumbled upon. My friend and I drove to San Jose for the Waitress musical, and just wanted a hot drink before we watch, so I Yelped a tea place while we were on the way and this one caught my attention (most possibly because of the egg puffs)! Sinceretea has a little outdoor seating area that's fenced off from the rest of the sidewalk. It would be awesome to enjoy your tea in this outdoor area on a nice, sunny day, or maybe even on an overcast. Stepping inside, you're immediately greeted by the cashier and there's a large menu right next to the entry way for you to look at. Because this was our first time coming across this place, my friend and I looked at the menu for a good couple minutes, but we were indecisive about what to order. I think the cashier noticed this so he asked us if we had any questions regarding the menu. We asked him for some recommendations and he told us they have a seasonal menu (which I didn't notice until he pointed it out) and he also recommended the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea. I ended up ordering the Sesame Milk Tea off their seasonal menu and my friend ordered the Roasted Oolong for herself. Between us we also shared a Sesame Mochi Egg Puff. It took about 5 minutes for them to make our order and during this time I took a good look at the decorations and their merchandise. Their merchandise are absolutely cute! Also, I love how they decorated the cafe with small plants here and there. It gives off a comforting and relaxing vibe. I would describe this cafe as similar to the cafes in Korea (that I saw on YouTube haha). If I lived in this area, I would definitely bring my laptop to work in this cute shop. Our drinks came first. My Sesame Milk Tea (non dairy milk alternative) smelled fragrant, but taste wise it wasn't what I expected. It was sesame infused with tea, and the tea was overpowering the sesame taste. I would have preferred my Sesame Milk Tea to have a stronger sesame taste to it, but overall it was good. I was also able to get some sesame grinds towards the bottom of my drink. I also got a taste of my friend's Roasted Oolong and hers was definitely a good recommendation - both earthy and warming. After a couple minutes of enjoying our drinks, our Sesame Mochi Egg Puff arrived! The outer layer of the egg puff is slightly crunchy, and as for the inside, the mochi makes for a chewy bite. The sesame in the egg puff also came off as mild and initially the egg puff was quite enjoyable, but it gets too sweet as you eat more of it. Overall, a pretty good cafe! I think if I ever get the chance to try this place again, I'd go for their recommended drinks instead. read more

Alright, I'll admit it. I'm on a mochi binge. If you say mochi, I'll be there. This place has been on my list forever, but it wasn't until my sister stayed with us, that I started coming here. I came three times in one week (do they know me yet?). Yup, you can say I'm slightly obsessed. I thought parking would be difficult, but there's always been plenty of spots out front when I visit. Cute little space, seating is plenty (although there's room for more, they keep it spacious) both inside and out. Love the booth seats with little catcus butt pillows (lol). As you know, our major reason for visiting was the mochi egg puffs. In my three visits, we tried many of their flavors. They also have mochi waffles, but, unfortunately, they're not offering them right now. At first we tried sesame and matcha. We both preferred matcha. Sesame was good, but matcha was better. At our next visit, we got the matcha without the powdered sugar, which tasted even better, but made the mochi egg puffs look naked lol. I came with two other friends and discovered you can do half and half for mochi egg puffs. It changed everything. We ordered the matcha and a half and half of cinnamon and chocolate. I might have to say I loved the cinnamon/chocolate mix the most of the bunch! My sister and I both preferred their house milk tea to their roasted oolong (which is what I typically go for). Sinceretea is super refreshing! I've been meaning to write a review for this place. I've had some inconsistencies with their drinks and the only thing I ever get is their Roasted Oolong tea. Today was made perfect. And I've also had it on multiple occasions like how it was made today (whoever the barista is that worked at 2 PM today, the tea was bomb!). Boba wasn't too soft, not too hard. Tea was roasty tasting and did not taste watered down like how I've had it on different occasions. One time I had it where it literally tasted like water, sugar, and boba. Closer to a green tea flavor rather than a dark roasted tea. Check out the steep times maybe? Other than that, Sinceretea also listened to my suggestion on fixing something within their app which is great! It was a struggle to get a drink with no creamer and now there's an option for it. I've also tried their Roasted Oolong tea leaves which is sold in a pack of I forgot how many ozs and the price, sorry . The location is very clean and sleek, definitely anything and everything here is instagram worthy if that's what your into. It's a close walking distance to japantown but not in japantown, you kind of have to walk outside of it. They are like on the outer edge near residential area. If it wasn't for yelp and google maps, I would never have found the place. They don't use the sealed covers which I always appreciate because I like to buy one for later or one for the husband and let it roll around in my backpack. The Dreamy series are very cute with white clouds in the drink so it's very insta-worthy - tasty, but it is a fancier name for a milkshake. I've been to sinceretea a few times now and I've enjoyed the drinks I've gotten. The specials are always fun and enticing. Most recently I got the mango paradise drink with coconut jelly and loved it. I also love the samples which help me discover new flavors to try out. My only feedback is with so many apartment buildings now nearby it feels like serving coffee would be really convenient and profitable (especially with the average options nearby). Did a DoorDash takeout order because I didn't feel like leaving the house. I ordered a Matcha Cream Latte and strawberry mochi waffles. This is the second time I've ever ordered from here, with the first time being in person at the store. Needless to say I enjoyed it enough the first time for me to come back. The drinks are solid, and my memory of the waffles were good even if they were pretty small for $6, but it's the closest spot to me that offers mochi waffles. The first time, they came out fluffy and nicely shaped like a diamond as advertised. The second time from DoorDash: circular and dense as fck like they slabbed it onto the waffle maker and half-assed it to get an order that could not be complained about. The Roasted Oolong is also good and the boba texture is soft & chewy. The menu shows the body, caffeine, and oxidation levels for each of the teas which is helpful for deciding what to order. The mochi egg puffs are also yummy. I ordered the black sesame mochi egg puffs and they had a nice hint of black sesame with mochi bits, so it was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. This is a different twist from typical egg puffs/eggettes but costs more because of the special flavors and mochi. We came across this place thanks to the positive Yelp reviews, and being from the East Bay, we decided to make the trip to San Jose just to try it out. Unfortunately, our first experience was a bit underwhelming. When we arrived, there was a teenager working the kiosk who didn't greet us at all, and there was already a line forming. The customer ahead of us had trouble placing their order, and after about five minutes of waiting, it was finally our turn--only for the kiosk to malfunction for us as well. We tried multiple times and eventually alerted the worker, but her response was very nonchalant and indifferent. She directed us to try ordering online, but that didn't work either. After a couple of calls to the owner (in a very unhurried manner), the worker gave up and decided to give us our drinks for free. While we appreciated the gesture, there was no apology or sense of urgency, which was disappointing. That said, the drinks were delicious! The tea was strong, and the Boba had that perfect chewy consistency. Despite the frustrating experience with the ordering process, we left satisfied with our drinks. We came back recently to attend one of their advertised workshops for 2025. The workshop had only been posted recently, and we were really excited to learn how boba tea is made. My partner even emailed them, but we never got a response. When we arrived, the woman who greeted us seemed to be the owner, but she never even introduced herself or said her name. She handed us a bag of supplies and led us to our seats. The atmosphere felt a bit awkward--she seemed nervous, reading off a script, and the calm Chinese music playing in the background didn't really help set the tone. We had to sit next to strangers, and there wasn't even enough room for my partner and I to sit together at first. The class felt rushed, and to top it off, we didn't even wash our hands before handling the supplies or ingredients, which felt a little concerning. There was no introduction or ice-breaking, which would've helped make the experience feel more engaging. For $40 per person, it wasn't worth it--especially since we ended up with two sets of supplies, one for each of us, when we could've easily shared. They should've had us make our drink together and leave with a full beverage, but instead, we didn't even get Boba in our drinks. The whole experience felt misleading and underwhelming, though I'll say the quality of the drinks is still great. Overall, I'm not sure if I'll go out of my way to return. I got to admit, I came here to try their Dreamy Series but they do have a selection of fruit teas and drinks here. The Dreamy Series is more of a slush based blended drink, similar to a frappuccino. I opted for the Rose Dream and it tasted good, I would opt for less sweet next time, but the aesthetics of the "clouds" was well made. My friends also got their selections of fruit teas and they enjoyed most of them as well. Store is on the smaller size with only a handful of tables available; interior is cute with a minimalistic wood design. It's located near Japantown so parking is mostly street parking but there is free parking right in front for a limited amount of time. read more

Sinceretea has so many variety of teas that I still want to try, so I'd definitely go back. You place your order at the front on a machine and they'll just call your name when it's ready. There's also the option of ordering in advance. I had the house milk tea and it was good. Next time, I wanna try something new and maybe their mochi egg puffs that look so interesting. -1 star though for their plastic straws, I wish they had an alternative. At least in San Jose you can recycle the plastic cup. Tip: Bring your own reusable straw to reduce single-use plastic waste. read more
