Nice layout with lots of businesspeople eating brekkie when I walked in. Sat myself at the bar and ordered my Eggs Benedict there. I think I got Crab Cake Benedict. Took a little while to get, but the server made sure my drink was filled to the brim! Food was good, but it took a while to finally pay. This restaurant is inside the Marriott. Parking is across the street or valet parking at the hotel. We ate here twice once for breakfast once for dinner. The food both times was very good. Breakfast service was very slow, dinner service was very friendly and helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing. There's a nice fireplace outside the window where we were sitting, if you're looking for a good meal, I would highly recommend the salmon for dinner or the egg white frittata for breakfast. read more

Lovely restaurant inside of the Marriott. First night- We ordered the salmon with forbidden rice, along with sautéed mushrooms, spinach and fresh asparagus. We also had the Cobb salad. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and tasted fantastic. ---- Second night- We ordered the fish and chips along with a market salad to split three ways. Absolutely loved this lounge! I stayed at the Marina Del Rey Marriott in early March for a business trip and had dinner here with my coworker and friend on our last night. We ate at the bar and had a great time chatting with some other folks that were sitting there and as well as the bartenders who served us. The service was top notch as well as the food. What we ordered to share: Charcuterie board -- assorted cheeses, bread, strawberries and a fig spread Garlic Prawn Tagliatelle- delicious pasta with garlic prawns, parmesan cheese & evvo Salmon Bowl with asparagus, black rice in a sesame ginger miso sauce - this was the star of the show. Our new friend sitting next to us recommended it and said that she had been here for three nights and had gotten it each night. We both loved it - it was so delicious . One of the best salmon dishes I've ever had. I wish I could have it again and I most certainly will if it's still on the menu if I ever go back! Highly recommend. Heirloom tomatoes with burrata cheese and arugula with balsamic drizzle - another stellar dish, I love heirloom tomatoes and burrata cheese is always amazing! Great combo with the arugula and drizzle. I really enjoyed our dinner and the service. By the end of the meal the 2 bartenders called us by name and were inspired by what we ordered to get it themselves when it was time for them to eat their own dinner! I liked the relaxed atmosphere. I sat at the bar but there are tables scattered around inside and out. I don't really think of this a a destination place, have no idea about the food (my companion said the conference catering was bad), but if you do, there is inexpensive city parking across the street in Lot 10. read more

Nice hotel bar and restaurant in the lobby area of the Marina Del Rey Marriott. Main drawback is limited kids menu. Food and service are good. Prices are a bit high, but to be expected for SoCal and a hotel eatery. We were staying at the hotel, so it was very convenient for us to have breakfast here every morning. The breakfast options are limited, but enough for everyone to find something. They have bowls, omelettes, a classic breakfast, a sandwich, and pancakes that the kids liked. On the weekend they had a breakfast buffet which was great with eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. There is also a Starbucks stand in the lobby area for quick coffee or muffins. There are probably 20 tables plus outdoor seating, so it isn't huge but we were able to get a table every morning. From a dinner perspective, the menu is a but limited for families. They had a few things that caught my eye, but my picky kids didn't find anything they wanted on the menu. We didn't notice stuff like chicken tenders, grilled cheese, etc. They are labeled as a lounge and dont necessarily cater to kids, so this gripe only applies to those with little kids. Overall a great place to catch a drink or a bite if you are staying at the hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient, but they did seem understaffed at times. Above average hotel restaurant and bar We recently stayed at the Marriott in which the Sinder is located and enjoyed evening drinks/snacks/dinner a few times. While the atmosphere is nice and the bartenders and servers quite friendly menu is hit or miss. For us the hits were the guacamole and pico de gallo, dry spiced wings, and mushroom flatbread. All were quite tasty and well worth the price of admission. The garden salad was just OK as was the prosciutto flatbread. But the ceviche was abysmal. Also, we noticed that the mixed drinks and mocktails that we ordered directly from the bartender (while sitting at the bar) were better than those ordered through the waitstaff. I don't know if he cared more (or was just less busy), but saying we wanted our cocktails/mocktails 'not too sweet' to him resulted in nicely balanced drinks but when we gave the same admonition to our servers they came back cloyingly sweet. As I wrote, the atmosphere is nice. We were there in unseasonably cold weather so we didn't try the outside seating but there looked to be a nice fire feature. And the service from both the bartender and the waitstaff was quite good. read more

I love hotel bars. And this one is located inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Marina del Rey. This bar is located in the middle of the lobby. It's also a super great place to people watch. They have a large selection of whiskeys. The drinks are a little on the more expensive side. They do serve food, but they stop serving food at 9pm. read more

The lounge is definitely a romantic place to have lunch or dinner, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. We had the seared hamachi and the ceviche, and both were incredibly underwhelming. The amount of ceviche you get for $12 is very small, and it includes cucumber pieces, halved cherry tomatos, and pieces of fish. Taste-wise, it's lemony/limey but still bland. The seared hamachi was bland as well, and I know you can't expect sashimi to be flavorful, but it seemed their cut of fish just wasn't up to par. Overall, the experience was pretty disappointing, but at least it's free 2 hours parking with validation? read more

Awesome with some draw backs Let's get into this. The place is fantastic with a great view. Open and serving drinks and food on top of the hotel one cold not ask for better or so we thought. It's by no means a deal braked but must be noted. Happy hour is more like how can we still up charge drinks hour. The only complaint is that the happy hour prices are a joke being only about 3 bucks less then the premium drinks of food. Aside from that the place is clean and well lite. The staff is fantastic calling you by name and always right there when you need something. If I owned a business like this they are the guys I want for my staff. Very respectfully, and friendly, as well as attentive. I would definitely come back if nothing else to be waited on by their staff. All said and done it was a great experience for a roof top bar. Bar/Lounge in the lobby of the Marina Del Rey Marriott. Came in for an appetizer and a few cocktails after a long day out. The restaurant is in lobby right as you walk in to the hotel. The vibe and ambiance is great, with dimmed lighting, a nice looking bar, high tops around the room and some great outdoor seating/couches with fire pits. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer which was perfect to accompany some drinks. Prices are not too bad, for a hotel bar, and the staff were friendly. This place is pretty happening in the evening and it's rather posh, even more so than the restaurants in The Ritz nearby. Well, maybe not that posh, but I still thought it was pretty romantic but at the same time, laid back. The food isn't that creative if you really think about it, they just did a twist on a lot of classics but honestly, come here for the drinks, the service, the scene and the atmosphere and you're good. The ambiance is also very pretty and urban, the place is so clean, I love seeing just how well they wipe down the tables and even the chairs after guests have left. I think this place is one of those hidden gems and definitely worth a stop with some great company. read more

Casual indoor and outdoor space to eat breakfast lunch and dinner. We had all three while staying here at the Marriott for a few days. Breakfast omelettes were delicious and came with toast and grated hash browns. Ask for extra crispy! For lunch we had the Sinder and impossible burgers. Came with thin fries. Sinder has a great outdoor area with plenty of seating and enough fire places to be seen from space. The drinks were great and our cocktail waitress was awesome as well. Smiles go a long way. Servers take note. The only thing that keeps this from a perfect five stars is that the bar tender (who I had tipped quite well the whole evening) declined serving me an additional drink because they had shut down the open bar that our agency had paid for two minutes ago. Two minutes ago...are you kidding me? The beers were directly behind him. All it would take is extending an arm and grabbing one. Oh well, I digress. It's a nicer upscale lounge - a small walk away from the Venice bar scene on Washington Blvd. I like taking my wife there for an outdoor beverage during the summer nights. The drink prices are on the high side but they do have a happy hour available - check their site for seasonal details. I haven't tried the food yet. Overall, the outdoor fire pits make for a nice stop during date night in amicable weather. read more

I would give this place 2.5 stars if that was a choice. The two bartenders when we stopped in for a drink around 10PM on a Friday night were quite clearly overwhelmed and seemed inexperienced. Waited several minutes to even be noticed and even longer to get refills, while others got served ahead of us in a seemingly random manner. The bar was a mess on the server's side - glasses everywhere, broom and bucket laying on the floor, liquor bottles all over the place. The place didn't seem that busy either. There were people at the bar, but the subtle chaos behind the bar didn't match their level of customers. I think these two might be new behind the bar. They'll get better with experience. I could not find anywhere delicious to eat in the area and usually hotel restaurants are mediocre; Sinder's meals were not and found myself coming back for breakfast. I ordered the fish tacos and was also in the mood for soup and ordered the tomato basil - both were filling and super delicious. The lounge area topped the night- a glass of wine by the fire was so relaxing. The breakfast the next morning was so good and they gave me pretty much an entire avocado; this made up for the steep price of $16 for an omelette. The staff were friendly and attentive. I didn't give it 5 stars because some of the items were a bit overpriced and parking sucks. read more

Came here for dinner before and had a good experience, so my friend and I decided to try the breakfast.. it was probably the worst "American breakfast" we've ever had. We had to send our eggs back twice because apparently cooking a simple fried egg is so difficult. It was completely RAW to the point where it might as well have still been in the chicken. SERVICE Our server was Adam, and he was a great guy. We talked to him for a long time and had a lot of laughs. AMBIANCE Great place to spend a low-key evening with that special someone or for a date. We got seats by the fireplace and dined under stringed lights and the stars after a romantic gondola ride nearby (Gondola A'more). It was 10% occupancy for the patio on a relatively warm night (the fireplace helped a lot). That alone is amazing, since LA's best places are always so crowded, busy, and fail at providing quiet, intimate settings. Maybe I'm just a small-town, North Carolina boy at heart. The interior is elegant and lit like a nightclub. They also have machines that pump a "Fiji apple" scent into the lobby, which my friend loved. FOOD Get the tomato soup if you can. It's offered once a month and I don't believe it was on the menu (ask your waiter/waitress). It's a creamy, well-salted soup that is quite rich. Served as an excellent sauce for my huge, dry-aged steak and side of asparagus. Had the Caesar salad too. Meh. We also had the gelato sampler, which came with 8 (or so?) huge (HUGE) scoops of gelato. Very interesting flavors -- highly recommend :) PARKING Valet parking at the hotel in which the Sinder lounge is embedded is your best bet. 2 hours of parking is validated by the bartender if you eat here, every hour afterwards is $10+gratuity for the valet. read more

I travel for work. A lot. I have a rule that I follow 98% of the time - never eat at the hotel. It's always overpriced, subpar food. Restaurants like this are the 2% exception. It's relatively affordable, very well executed, and really good! I've had both lunch and dinner here. The gem lettuce salad is a great option and a surprisingly composed dish. The market squash a charred, crispy-skin acorn squash drizzled in honey & honeycomb, goat cheese, marcona almonds, and fried sage garnish. This is a hotel?? The mushrooms were great one meal, and just okay the next. Flatbreads looked really good. To be fair, I haven't even tried an entree yet, as the shared plates and salads have hit the spot. For drinks...their draft list is just okay, but it does have some local offerings. For atmosphere - It's right in the middle of the hotel so there is plenty of people watching to be done here. You'll see pilots, couples, hopeful couples, drunks... you name it, it's here. Overall it's a very inviting space - if you're staying at the hotel you should definitely give it a try, and if you're not staying at the hotel... it still might be worth dropping by. read more

Love the convenience (if you're staying at the hotel or attending a conference like I was), the cool furniture and ambiance, and the fact that you can press a button and get super prompt service. My server was great and kindly volunteered to bring separate checks for everyone in my large party - I'm sure that was a lot of work. Not a fan of the food, which is a shame because that's what I'm really here for. The only thing I thought was decent was the cauliflower. The hot and spicy popcorn was too spicy without any actual flavor, if you know what I mean. My empanadas had essentially no flavor... I feel like they did not season the meat filling at all. Very disappointing. I don't think I'll have a reason to be back at this hotel lounge, and that doesn't make me sad at all. read more

Unfortunately we didn't get the memo and grabbed a late night drink here during the winter months. So our experience was a bit awkward drinking in the quiet hotel lobby. We did get a lot of personal attention from the bartender. Considering the number of options in the area, Sinder doesn't stand out, but if you'd like a quiet well made drink, Sinder will get ya. Despite the "From the business" section on Yelp stating this lounge has a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 7pm, they do not have a DJ at all and according to the waitstaff they haven't had a one in over a year. So thumbs down for that and ultimately why they get 3 stars for misinformation. The only positive is the lounge will validate valet parking at the hotel which covers 2 hours for free. read more

I stayed at the Marriott Hotel Marina del Rey for a conference and had a reception here as well as dinner on my own after the conference. Food was fresh though not necessarily memorable.
