I ordered a cake from out of state which is always a concern but in this case there was no need to worry! The staff was friendly and efficient on the phone and the owner was so nice when we picked it up on Saturday. It was well boxed so I had no worries it would slide around on the way to the party. The cake was for my daughter's surprise 40th birthday and the top layer was chocolate and the bottom layer was vanilla. it was absolutely delicious - sinfully so! At least 7 of the guests made a point to tell me how good the cake was. One person said it was the best chocolate cake he had ever eaten and another said that the vanilla cake is his favorite cake. They are always running specials, and this time we got the coconut cream, which was very nice flavor! They've got cookies and brownies too. We got the peanut butter brownie this time, which the baby couldn't have due to her allergy, but sorry that's her loss! It was delicious and perfect! They also have a punch card that you can redeem when full for a free slice! Their prices are so very reasonable too for the quality and size that you get! For my birthday this year I was suffering from a bad case of indecisiveness with a side of FOMO. Usually my husband always bakes me a cake, but I wanted to do something different and have a bunch of flavors so I sent him out to secure cake slices instead. He decided to go to this bakery and it was amazing! These all tasted like real, homemade cake. Not factory issued store bought cake here, no way. Not a single throw away slice, not even the plain old vanilla. They are all truly excellent. He got vanilla, chocolate, raspberry wine, lemon blueberry and a mounds brownie as my one suggestion of flavor I wanted was coconut, that's as close as he could get. Now, my husband is a smart and strategic man who knows that my palate for sweets is basically the same as our little daughters. While I sent him out for a variety, ultimately I like my cakes basic and he knew I'd be all about the chocolate one. Well, me and the kids already polished off the chocolate cake slice and I've got plans for the vanilla tonight, he chose well! My husband has a very adventurous palate for sweets, and he definitely stacked the deck in his favor with raspberry wine and lemon blueberry. I tasted them, and I can acknowledge that they are excellent and unique- extremely complex and interesting in flavor, but that isn't what I'm looking for out of cake. I like my cake pretty much exactly like the chocolate cake we got here. Like a slab straight out of Matilda, you know the scene, when the poor little boy gets cake shamed by having to eat the whole cake... yeah, that's the cake I want, and that's the cake I got. From out of town, I saw a man carrying cupcakes down the street and thus went to see where he had come from and found this delicious bakery! I had the pumpkin spice cookie. It had a TON of frosting on top and I was worried that the frosting would Amish in the bag but if kept form perfectly not even a flake came off in the bag! If I could leave less than one star I would. My sister come to pick up a 9in wedding cake and was charged $142 dollars. We were told that because it's a wedding cake it would be more but if we were to get the same thing but for a birthday we would be charged much less. Disrespectful to the groom because it was "not his wedding it was the brides" Spoke to my adult sister like she was a child. I recommend Sam club or Fancy pastry for a great tasting cake for cheap. The hours seem limited but they ARE in Lexington, NC so that seems to be the norm here. The staff was very friendly, they seem to take pride in their work (which felt very unique and creative to me) and the Mounds dessert I got here was heavenly. My sister, the woman who knows almost everybody in town, chatted with the lady who took care of us so it does seem they make effort at customer service and politeness & all that. Beautifully designed cake but tasted terrible! I went in on Friday, June 18 to place a special order on a birthday cake for my daughter's 17th birthday which was on June 28. I was told that Wende was not there and does not do consultations on Friday. They asked me to come back the following day which I couldn't do, so they told me Monday would be fine but not to wait much longer than that. I arrived around 3:30 on Monday, June 21 and was greeted by a different person who told me that Wende was, yet again, not there. When I expressed to her that I needed a custom cake for the 28th and was concerned on whether there would be enough time, she told me to come back on Tuesday and that they were slow because graduations were over so it shouldn't be a problem. I came back a third time on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 22 and this time Wende was available, however, my experience consulting with her this time was nothing like the first time a few years ago. She seemed to act as though I was inconveniencing her. Where she tried to guide me and offer suggestions with my first experience, this time she made me feel rushed and quite honestly like a nuisance. I requested a strawberry cake in PennyWise theme and provided pictures and details of what I wanted. The design itself was exactly on point! My only critiques are that she forgot to put the number 17 on the balloon and I wasn't really sure why she wrote the birthday message on what I think was a piece of edible image paper? I was also told at the consultation that she would not be using fondant but it certainly looked like fondant when I saw the finished product. I am still unsure on exactly what was used because if it was supposed to be icing then it's the thickest, toughest I've ever seen! I kind of got the feeling she wanted to deter me from ordering when she sighed and said this is going to be at least a $65 or $70 cake. When I quickly accepted she then said I wouldn't be able to pick up this cake on June 28 until 4 pm which I was a bit hesitant about because that meant half of my daughter's birthday would be over before I'd actually have her cake. It kind of felt like excuses to send me packing but I agreed to that as well. I tried to pass this off as maybe her just having an off day, after all we all have those, however, I started getting calls from Sinfully Delicious the day of pick up starting at 2:57 pm requesting more time. I told them I could push it to 4:30 since we would be headed out to dinner at 5. Thankfully it was ready when I arrived (she claimed to have just finished it, showing me her red stained hands as proof), but that doesn't downplay how incredibly unprofessional this entire experience felt for me. This was nothing like my first experience other than the design was amazing and the cake was not. Very disappointing!! I've read many good reviews for Sinfully Delicious and with design, I would agree too. The pictures speak for themselves. In my last review I compared her to Lexington's very own Cake Boss, but what I am mostly puzzled about is the good reviews on flavor? Am I missing something or just picking the wrong cake flavors? I've ordered a custom cake twice from Sinfully Delicious over a four year span and 2 out of 2 times I was underwhelmed on flavor. My husband went as far to say this time her cake was inedible. I paid $70 for a cake that was beautiful, but sadly it went straight to the trash. No one could stand the way it smelled or how it taste. With that being said, I can stomach spending a lot on custom cakes when the design is great and maybe could even sacrifice a bit on flavor just to have something that wows, but I did that when I ordered here four years ago and since then the customer service has gone away. I shouldn't be made to feel like a bother when spending $70 on a small cake that no one could eat while waiting an entire day to get it! It was unacceptable and I will not be returning! read more

This is not the place to get a casual birthday cake. $45 for an 8" round with flowers. When my husband went to pick up the cake, it was brought out to him on the cardboard the cake sits on. My husband had to ask for a box to put the cake in! When it came time to cut the cake, the cake cutter would not cut through this 'cake', I had to get a sharp knife to cut it. The icing was about 1/16" thick (and that would be generous), and HARD! The flower looked like and amatuer had done it. Plus the cake bread was very dry, bland, no taste. They may do OK with custom cakes but not a regular, traditional birthday cake. Live and learn. We will never use Sinfully Delicious again. Lesson learned! read more

At a whopping $4 per slice and sitting next to the longest standing, local favorite bakery in Lexington, I'll rate this bakery in the middle of the spectrum with 3 stars. Only because they are very new and deserve a chance to grow on me, and everyone else. My family & I discussed multiple reasons why they could possibly think their placement was a good idea, and the only 2 reasons we can come up with is that they are somehow affiliated with Fancy Pastry or they thought they'd still make good money because they specialize in custom & flavored cakes unlike them, otherwise it just doesn't seem smart, sorry lol. I'll grab some next time I'm around (Though you're not missing much at the moment) I stopped in out of pure curiosity, because that's what Yelpers do lol, after picking up a cake and desserts next door at Fancy Pastry. I was the only traffic I saw enter the 15 minutes I was in the area. When I entered the young lady working didn't say a word to me. She felt very cold as if she didn't want to be bothered. I looked in the display case which had mostly cookies & a box of cupcakes, none of which excited me. Next to this cake was a fridge with milk & multiple containers of sliced Carrot Cake. Then I scanned the different cakes, also very boring. The young lady just stared at me so I asked what kind of cakes they were. The board above had the prices listed for around $3.69 a slice. I was about to walk out, but the Elite in me wouldn't let me lol. So I asked for a slice of the Strawberry cake and I grabbed a slice of the carrot cake from the fridge. While she struggled to cut my Strawberry cake & I regretted the decision in my mind because of the chance of it being dry or heavy, I asked how long they'd been open, only a couple weeks she said. I looked around and there were 2 long rows of photo frames on the wall with no picture in them, why they didn't wait to hang them makes no sense to me. When arrived to my final destination we all grabbed forks and began to taste both slices. The Strawberry while not horrible, horrible to me means unedible, but it was verry disappointing. It was very heavy and the flavor fell flat. With some good concentration, you could taste the Strawberry flavor while grabbing a necessary fluid to help wash it down. The Carrot cake was better, very flavorful and light but way too many large nuts for my liking. While I can see myself stepping in again later after they've grown a bit, Neither were worth the price for regular visits at the moment. Their sustainability is TBD. read more

The first bite sent me into a burst of ecstasy overload. The rich buttery lemon icing melted in my mouth as if I was experiencing a bit of heaven here on earth. The blueberries popped with freshness mixing with the lemon making a sinful delight.
