My friend and I enjoyed a great lunch at this spacious restaurant inside an interesting vintage building. The location is perfect for boaters, tourists and locals. Sitting right on the water with indoor and outdoor seating, it was very comfortable with an incredible view. Our server was so sweet. She was friendly and helpful. Service was attentive and professional throughout our lunch. Our lunch was fresh and tasty. The seafood dip was full of flavor, my salad and my friend's lobster roll were the perfect options for a summer meal.

Great outdoor spot with beautiful waterfront views. I ordered the raspberry and goat cheese pizza, which was incredible. If you feel like branching out with your pizza order you have to try this one (I promise you won't be disappointed!). Portion size is great, but definitely shareable. The service was efficient and the staff was friendly.

On a road trip and decided to stop here for lunch. I must say we were impressed. Would definitely come back. Beautiful location, great food, and amazing staff.

We walked into the patio seating and put our names in for a table. We expected a wait as they don't take reservations for a party of two. Within minutes of getting and drink at the bar we were texted that a table was ready. We were seated at a waterfront table which was lovely. That was the end of our lovely, inviting experience. The waitress did not welcome us or greet us but asked if we were ready to order. As we had just been seated (and not even had a sip of our drinks) we we had not even looked at a menu. A little off-putting. She came back later and asked again if we were ready to order. No greeting. No nothing. We ordered and then waited ... and waited ... and waited. About 30 minutes later the waitress came back, not to check on us or tell us the status of our food order, but only to ask us if we wanted to order another drink. I asked her to check on our food order. Finally, about 35-40 after ordering the food arrived. No waitress. She finally came to check on us as we were almost finished with our dinner entrees. What terrible "service". Fortunately she was anomaly as everyone else was most pleasant and the food was delicious. I don't know her name as she did not introduce herself to us.

I love the vibe at the Butler especially the upstairs both at the bar and tables. Great views and yummy food. I thought the whitefish dip with pita chips was delicious as well as the turkey club on the freshest flatbread ever and amazing sweet potato waffle fries.

Enjoyed the beautiful weather and patio at the Butler tonight. Had the whitefish dip and lobster roll!

The views are stellar. Nestled right on the water, it's a tourist hot spot without a doubt. We came in the winter so the town was quiet with not a lot of commotion. And subsequently there was no wait to grab a table at the Butler. I've only ever been outside on their massive patio in the summer that they recently built, so this was the first time dining inside. It was definitely dated inside. Carpets throughout with an old school supper club vibe. The food was good, not great. Nothing noteworthy. Our family ordered got the Butler burger, mac and cheese with brisket, pickle fries, caesar salad, and the stuffed mushrooms. The service was probably the highlight. Our server was incredibly nice and even spoke Spanish to our uncles who were visiting us from Ecuador. He was super attentive and on top of everything. You should check them out in the summer and enjoy the patio views. Hold off on going during the winter if you're able to.

We had 22 people (8 kids) and they accommodated us well!! They brought out the kids plates first and quickly, while keeping the adult beverages full! Delicious, would recommend!

I swear this happens every time we come here. We sat at the bar for 15+ minutes waiting for a drink and were never served. The bartenders seemed more focused on chatting with each other than acknowledging customers. That said, our server, Jada, was great! She took good care of us, and the food came out hot and delicious, so we were able to end the night on a positive note.

My partner and I came to this place over the weekend, while visiting the area and after reading many raving reviews. If the party is not large, you cannot make reservations on Open Table. Since we were a small party of two, we walked in and gave them our name. They put us in the system, said the wait would be an hour to an hour and thirty minutes. I was mind blown by the hostess time estimate because they called us within an hour and seven minutes. The place reminds me of Krusty Krab in SpongeBob, it's wooden paneling and dark décor. The service was okay, I wish our waiter would have been a tiny bit more attentive. You cannot tell me you're that busy to have runners deliver the food and to check up on the table every so often (before @ me, he was not that busy and the place was not that busy). As for Appetizer, we had crab stuffed mushrooms, they were watery with a great amount of cheese on top. I would have opted-in for a breadcrumb top rather than cheese. My partner has to finish the App. For Entrée, I had the Horseradish Peppercorn Burger, it was very flavorful and cooked as recommended - medium. The side, sweet potatoes, were so stale and overcooked, it seemed like they were out all day and the cooks refried them. (again, do not @ me, I worked at Arby's back in my prime, so I know a stale, overcooked, recooked fry). My partner had the Southwestern Salad with grilled "over seasoned" chicken and missing black beans with a grand amount of red onion. Overall, no, I did not like this place and would not recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. I wish the company all the best in their success.

starting last night for dinner with two of my girlfriends. There was about a 15 minute wait before we sat on a patio closest to the boats. We quickly got greeted by our server and ask for a drink menu. Once you brought that back to us, we ordered two Michigan Mojito and a beer. We then decided to order three different pizzas to split - the raspberry goat cheese, pickle prosciutto, and pulled pork barbecue jalapeño. All of them were very delicious. We did have to ask her raspberry sauce as they forgot that. It was a bit chillier, but overall everything was super clean. The view of the water was beautiful. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

The Patio is always busy, needed patience waiting for a table for a nice view! It's worth it though. Service a bit slow, even at the bar. There were few open tables yet we had to wait almost an hour for our turn. Well, short staffed as always. The delicious cocktails compensated the wait. Food were good. We had the white fish dip, fish and chips and bruschetta. We like them all. Will I ever go back and experience the same thing? Absolutely! This is the best spot in Saugatuck.

Sure, I'd leave places and be like, "I should really do them a solid" but then I just went home and either forgot about it or started doing other stuff. Have gotten really into running since COVID and that's pretty much my favorite topic of discussion (running, not COVID). Had between 15 and 20 Miller Lites over the course of a three-night span here in late June 2026. This place is like Outback Steakhouse in the "no rules, just right" type of way. I do not believe they serve food here but did see bartenders making microwavable popcorn on request to several patrons. So this place is designed with a three-room set-up. You walk in and it's a square carpeted room that can be used for live music. Then you reach the bar area, then there are pool tables. There seemed to be an area behind the pool tables but I was too afraid to go back there. Now in terms of bar design, I would have led with the bar but that's just me and I'm sure the architects (possibly Mike Brady from "The Brady Bunch") knew what they were doing. I tend to trust professionals, apart from what our public health "experts" did to us during the forementioned COVID. This bar is cash only. That's probably in other reviews. Also, if you have AT&T cell service, good luck. There's no service so you can't look up scores and check Instagram. And now you're thinking, "what about the wifi?" C'mon bro, be serious. I love this bar. They have four different TVs in the main bar area that range from 19 to 45 inches. All are on different setups. Antenna, YouTubeTV, etc. The staff is fantastic. It's a dive bar that never had to try to be a dive bar. You'll read other reviews on this place and they are super granular or longwinded or whatever. Don't pay attention to those bozos. This place is strictly vibes. Did I mention the dropped ceilings have art paintings on them? One even has a Pontiac painted on it. Hell yeah, Michigan.
