As locals, we appreciate M14 keeping the best parts of the Mermaid (patio, bar, etc.) and introducing a fresh menu. We also appreciate M14 keeping a running wait list so you can stroll, check the list, and make your way back to the dock as you move closer to the top. Servers were all perky and attentive. We enjoyed the cheese dip (check out those chips!), jerk chicken, and prime rib dip. Drinks were flowin' and the patio was having a ball; we ordered the Black Buoy Mojito and found it to be the perfect summer drink. Our main feedback is to "make it right" with a new dish. We ordered grilled onions on the dip, received raw onions, then received a plate (in addition) of barely cooked onions. Yes, we would have gladly waited for a new, correct dish.

We were in Saugatuck for a play at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, and wanted some light apps before the show. We wanted to check out something new, as we have dined at several locations on previous visits. The reviews were good on Marker 14 so we decided to go give them a try and were not disappointed. They have great outside seating, both on the dock, tables with umbrellas, or you can sit just inside which is open so you can still see they boats going up and down the channel, but not be directly in the sun. Our server was great, and very attentive. We decided on the Shrimp Cocktail, 5 nice sized shrimp, firm, cold and good flavor. We also had the Crispy Walleye Bites; 3 generous size pieces of walleye, battered with Tagarashi spice, hot honey with a sesame aioli on shaved cabbage. The walleye was fresh, flaky and had great flavor. Lastly, we had the Elote Potato Fritters with corn salad, cotija dressing. The potato filling was flight and fluffy and paired will with the walleye. All of the appetizers were very good, and we would order again. Definitely recommend Marker 14 as an option if you're in Saugatuck.

We just walked in with no reservation and were greeted warmly. We sat in the bar area and ordered a drink while we waited for a table. I no time we were texted and a table on the water was ready. As it was late we ordered 3 appetizers to share for the 2 of us and they all came out from the kitchen promptly. We couldn't have asked for more.

This is our favorite spot to visit in Saugatuck. We loved coming here when it was formally Mermaid Bar and were excited to try the new Marker 14 menu. The Thai chicken meatballs and smoked whitefish dip were excellent! It's a great spot to enjoy the views and watch the boats go by! Our server was nice and friendly. I just wish they would bring back the fish sandwich! Overall would highly recommend this spot!

Saugatuck is a town of restaurants. Beachside Marker 14 is among the best. Very attentive servers, a unique specialty cocktail menu and great small food. A great setting looking at the Kalamazoo River. Great time and great food.

Sonora S took care of my dinner on a very pleasant weather day in Saugatuck. She suggested I try the Walleye Bites and Caprese salad both of which were flavorful, crispy bites and fresh salad making the best outdoor patio dinner. I enjoyed the sunset with my pups and Sonora got lots of ice water for my pups. The ambience is very contemporary and lots of well dressed customers for early dinner, dates or just a casual meal. This is the place to be if you look for water views, epic sunsets and great food!

We came in on a Monday afternoon. First, we sat inside as it was sweltering outside. Even with the open air doors, the AC was perfect. We had the crab & corn chowder, walleye bites and the buoy burger. Food came out quick, and was fantastic! We are locals and will definitely be back!

What a fantastic, neighborhood feeling establishment! Although it was a dreary Tuesday early afternoon, it became quite busy half way through our lunch. Payton was our server, very friendly, gave us great service. Recommended the Halibut Bites and Thai Chicken Meatballs as an appetizer. We went with the meatballs and were not disappointed. Six medium sized meatballs with the bib lettuce, sweet chili glaze and surprisingly great tasting pickled cucumber and radish! I wished there was more of the chili glaze on them, but wonderful nonetheless. My SIL and l both ordered the Roasted Chicken Pita. Made with thighs, this was a smart choice as they are juicier and more flavorful than a breast. It was piled high with tomato, red onion, lettuce and plenty of chicken. The sauce was perfect, as was the lightly grilled pita it came on. Had to eat it with a fork and knife as it was too full to fold and eat. No complaints about that! Less messy too. Our table was right on the water, umbrellas covered most if not all the outdoor tables. The main (inside) part of the restaurant is covered and opened up to the water as well. Clean women's bathroom, but the handicapped stall did not lock. There was a sign on that door about the lock being broken and to "knock or look for feet." C'mon. This restaurant is too cool to have a janky lock. Will definitely go back. Wanna try the Italian sandwich and Prime Rib Dip sandwich. If they do the right bread, they should be stellar. Nice job, Marker 14!

We stopped here for afternoon appetizers and drinks. The walleye bites and Thai chicken meatballs were amazing, and the drinks refreshing. The restaurant is right on the water and has a fun beach/vacation vibe. Highly recommend!

They were both delicious. The meatballs were flavorful and moist. The soup tasted fresh and creamy with little chunks within. Those both were my absolute favorite. I was slightly disappointed in the smoked salmon, as it didn't seem like it was smoked that well. To me it was more baked than smoked. The bread was good and the Honey butter was a nice spread on it. Chicken had a nice sauce/flavor to it, though was a tad on the dry side for me. Atmosphere was alright, we enjoyed the outdoor seating and never went inside so cannot speak on that. Service was alright. Nothing to write home about. Not sure I'd make this a place to visit a second time. Thought its worth a try once.

Sure, I'd leave places and be like, "I should really do them a solid" but then I just went home and either forgot about it or started doing other stuff. Have gotten really into running since COVID and that's pretty much my favorite topic of discussion (running, not COVID). Had between 15 and 20 Miller Lites over the course of a three-night span here in late June 2026. This place is like Outback Steakhouse in the "no rules, just right" type of way. I do not believe they serve food here but did see bartenders making microwavable popcorn on request to several patrons. So this place is designed with a three-room set-up. You walk in and it's a square carpeted room that can be used for live music. Then you reach the bar area, then there are pool tables. There seemed to be an area behind the pool tables but I was too afraid to go back there. Now in terms of bar design, I would have led with the bar but that's just me and I'm sure the architects (possibly Mike Brady from "The Brady Bunch") knew what they were doing. I tend to trust professionals, apart from what our public health "experts" did to us during the forementioned COVID. This bar is cash only. That's probably in other reviews. Also, if you have AT&T cell service, good luck. There's no service so you can't look up scores and check Instagram. And now you're thinking, "what about the wifi?" C'mon bro, be serious. I love this bar. They have four different TVs in the main bar area that range from 19 to 45 inches. All are on different setups. Antenna, YouTubeTV, etc. The staff is fantastic. Patrick and Katie were my two favorites. Entertaining and straight out of bartending central casting. I was just drinking beers so I can't comment on what like a cocktail or normal-person drink tastes like. Clientele ranges from bachelorette parties to people who have seen some shit. It's a dive bar that never had to try to be a dive bar. You'll read other reviews on this place and they are super granular or longwinded or whatever. Don't pay attention to those bozos. This place is strictly vibes. Did I mention the dropped ceilings have art paintings on them? One even has a Pontiac painted on it. Hell yeah, Michigan. Haven't seen a Pontiac since cars still had cassette tape players in them. I would live there if I could. And I'm a proud Ohioan.
